SQL Reporting :: Automatic Batch Printing In ReportViewer Remote Mode?
Jul 29, 2010
i have a properly working codes that is capable of the following:
1. Printing of Reports from ReportViewer without using the build-in print ICON in the actual ReportViewer. to view the working for the printing alone.
2. Batch Printing by making a loop and placing a checkbox on the gridview where the needed paramerter (DataKeyNames ID) is retrieved then pass to the ReportViewer
This is my Code
[Code]....
when i was trying to run my website directly in Visual Studio (F5) and try the batch printing, i was able to print all of the checked row(s). and i was able to print 10 different reports at around 30 secs. but when i deploy the website, and try to print atleast 1 report . it takes more time to process, i don't even have a chance to wait cause it is too long.
I have developed a set of ssrs .rdl reports and am trying to display them from the reportviewer control embeded in my asp web page. The problem is that when I select the print icon on the reportviewer control I am prompted to install ms sql server. What is the best way to print .rdl reports from the web page's embeded reportviewer control to the client's local network printer.
I am trying to run a report in local mode and bind it at runtime to a simple List<string>; I have searched for a sample with no success so far, so could anyone give some hints? I know that a ReportDataSource can be a type that implements IEnumerable but I cannot figure out what field name should be used in the rdlc file? Suppose I bind the datasource at runtme (something like ReportViewer1.LocalReport.DataSources(Add new ReportDataSource("dsname", new List<string> { "John Smith", "Jane Smith" }))
can I still define my report definition file at design time, and bind a text box control to something like Fields[0] or the like? And on a different note, I also defined a static method without parameters that returns a generic list of some type; Yet if a go to Report - Data Sources menu option, I cannot see the method in the list of Project Data Sources.
Users want to get email PDF report. I am using ASP.net Reportviewer .rdlc file in local mode (I don't have a sql reporting services). My question is how to generate PDF reports programmatically without going to the report web page.
Ultimately, we need to know if version 8.0 of the .net Sql ReportViewer control is compatible with IIS7 running in Integrated Pipeline Mode.Regardless of the countless forum posts and articles we've read and suggestions we've tried, we've been unable to get this combination to work.
We're in the process of upgrading our websites. We're having trouble with using the 8.0 version of the ReportViewer control with IIS 7 in Integrated mode. Below is a summary of our previous setup and what we're attempting to upgrade/change to.
Our previous setup:IIS 7 Classic Pipeline Mode.Net Framework 3.5 ReportViewer 8.0 Local Mode (control used within websites - no separate Sql Reporting Server)
Attempting to upgrade to IIS 7 Integrated Pipeline Mode.Net Framework 4.0 ReportViewer 8.0 Local Mode - NO CHANGE
Our sites are all working fine except for the use of the ReportViewer control. We're not ready to upgrade our reports to version 10.0 so we wanted to continue using version 8.0.
Since we're now using the Integrated pipeline mode of IIS7, we changed our root level web.config files of our websites to contain the handler for the report viewer in the system.webServer/handlers section instead of the system.web/httpHandlers section. We're receiving the following error when attempting to access a page that contains the ReportViewer control,
Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewerHandlerNotRegisteredException: The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file. Add <add verb="*" path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" type
PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" /> to the system.web/httpHandlers section of the web.config file.We can't add the handler to the system.web/httpHandlers section of the web.config file since we're running in IIS7 Integrated Pipeline Mode.
We've tried both manually modifying the web.config file to include the handler in the system.webServer/handlers section as well as adding it via IIS. Both methods produce the same result. So, is version 8.0 of the ReportViewer control not compatible with IIS7 in Integrated Pipeline Mode? If it is compatible, what are we doing wrong? If it is not compatible, is version 9.0 of the ReportViewer control compatible? Here are the pertinent sections of our web.config files:
For my first project in vwd2008 with asp/vb i've created a work order system and everything's going well.. I use a gridview to show all work orders, and then i've been using a hyperlinkfield to link to a seperate page so that they can view and print the work order.
I've now been tasked with making it possible to print multiple work orders at once. How can i print multiple html pages at once without the user having to choose a printer each time?
I figure i can setup a checkbox for them to select the work orders.. and then create html links to each of the work orders..And then just use a button to start printing... ..but how would i print each of them?
I'm developing an application in which user can decide if he wants to print something now or at some other time. So the idea is for user to click print and say now or determine the time when the document will be printed (without any further user inputs). I don't know what is the best way in asp.net mvc to this. Is there any way to print html in this way or do i have to convert that html in some other format and save it in database?
I need to fetch first 75 data or lines and insert in the sql table. Again next 75 data or lines and insert in the sql table. Again next 75 data or lines and insert in the sql table until it finish all.How i can do it in ASP.NET with C#
I want to do ReportViewer, and i want have created a DataSet. I fail to drag the data table from ToolBox. My ToolBox doesn't exist any data table. The output i want to archive is something like this in my DataSet
For many of the pages I build, I don't wish to have the ReportViewer visible until firing an event such as a button click. Using .Net 4.0 and ReportViewer10, however, throws the error "Message: Sys.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: panelsCreated[1]" if you try to keep a panel containing the ReportViewer hidden until after a button click.Since I couldn't find much about this topic online, I'd basically been working around this for some time until I figured out today that if you reset the ReportViewer ReportPath in the code behind in the button click (even if it's the same path as in the aspx page), you can successfully keep the ReportViewer hidden until the button click.
I have created many reports in my ASP.Net 3.5 app's and using VB Code-behind. I have the following code that will take the report from the reportviewer and on a click of a button, export it to PDF. So now, I can hide the reportviewer and just have the button click events generate my PDF's. I do not know how to tweak this code to enable me to print directly from another button's click event without the reportviewer being visible.

What I am looking for is how to fill the tableadapter that I am using in the .xsd dataset file to the I do not have to incorporate reportviewers anymore?I know my code above would need to be adjusted so that its not looking at ReportViewer1 for the Report/Data... But I do not know how to do this.
I have a ReportViewer control on an ASP.Net page and an RDLC set up that uses a TableAdapter that pulls one record. This works fine.I'd like to have the *same* RDLC use a different TableAdapter (schema of table is the exact same, but may have multiple records). I've tried putting two DataSets in my RDLC and having the code dynamically select which one to use, but it's not working quite right for me.
i am able to bind ds to GridView. So can i also bind ds to reportViewer???I have search online and mostly require to add new DataSet(right-click project ->add new item->DataSet ) and Report(right-click project ->add new item->Report) to bulid the report. Is there a way for me to bind ds to reportViewer like i bind ds to GridView??
i am using asp.net 2.00(visual studio 2005 std edition) i have designed a report in reportviewer which runs fine on localhost server but when deployed on server it shows no data from other computers , after searching net i found that dynamic binding of dataset and reportviewer is required , so i entered following codes (dtgraph is data table name and graph.axd is data set name ) the code gives error that dtgraph is not declared , where i should declare it / any solution
ReportViewer1.Visible = Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.LoadTrue ReportViewer1.ProcessingMode = Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ProcessingMode.Local rep.Refresh() rep.ReportPath = Dim rep As Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.LocalReport = ReportViewer1.LocalReportDim rds As Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportDataSource = New Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportDataSource()"graph.rdlc" rds.Name = "graph_dtgraph" rds.Value = dtgraph.tables[0] End End Sub Class
I have a reportviewer that uses a dynamically generated RDLC (which means the RDLC is created at run-time through an XSL) to generate reports. I have no issue loading the report. My problem is with its toolbar. It is always disabled. I can't perform search, change the report size, or export the report to another file format.
I am new to this sql reporting service. But anyhow by surfing I am able to bind the report but i was stuck in image display.Anyways, i also managed that. But the real problem is whenever i was keeping a image control in rdlc report i was having session prob. If i remove the image control then as usual report works fine.either for session problem or for image display. I am keeping the image name in database but for binding the rdlc report i am using a store procedure which return the path (static) concating with the image name(kept in database).
I am using Visual Studio 2005 and Report Viewer to generate a few reports that I extract from a MS SQL 2005 DB. Everything is working fine, but I want to be able to pass 2 parameters from my ASP.NET C# file to the report file (.rdlc) and show it on the generated report.
My C# file has these lines, which I believe pass the parameters off
