SQL Reporting :: Header And Footer In SSRS As A Custom Item?
Mar 30, 2010
I have at least 87 report in my project what i am thinking to create a custom header and footer item in the report. In Header and footer we are showing a image so if we want to change the image then we need to change the image in all my 87 reports so is there any template that we can set in my header and footer so child report inherits from them.
I am doing a SSRS report to generate some kind of print outs.
I need to have different footers inside the whole print out.
e.g. After first several pages I need to use page number as page footer( this can be easily done). but after that i need have footers as Annex A -1, Annex A-2, or Annex B -1 , Annex C - 1, when the page is Annex A, Annex B...etc.
I would like to design master page header to show report title and date. For Master footer page, I want to show address and page number. Thus, all report no need to design more page header and footer.
This is bizarre and seems like a bug to me.Using a table in SSRS, I have a details row, with a parent group and finally a header row. For my header row, I am referencing a particular cell in the parent group.I am doing this so that i can have the header row repeat on each page of the group.his works fine when I'm not in Print Layout mode. However, when i switch to print layout mode, or print the report itself, the data that is presented on the screen is different then what is presented when not in print layout mode. WHAT THE F*!@!?? I've been battling this for a while now and i'm at my wits end. Has anyone else experienced different results from when you are in print layout mode as opposed to being in print layout mode?
I have a problem when I am exporting my report to Excel.
When exported to excel, I could see the table header on only the first page but not on all the pages. I have also checked the option "Repeat Header rows on New Page", but that didnt work.
I have been building a report that shows several line graphs where the X axis is TIME.I have put each graph in the group header cell of a table in SSRS.I have tried many things to be able to line up the graphs (get the X axis to line up the same times vertically).I have used the align X-Axis option and it does not seem to work.
I am currently working on an invoice report which may or may not span across multiple pages. I have a header which I have setup to only be displayed on the first page, and a footer which I have setup to only be displayed on the last page. The problem is, the hidden header/footer reserves unwanted whitespace and messes up the report layout (see the screenshot). The black areas represent space that is reserved by the header/footer. There must be a simple way to remove this unwanted space.
i would like to hide the % of toggle item when image is + then it sum up the % which is incorrect.
Hence i would like to hide the % column when toggle image is + otherwise show the % column value.
i tried something - IIF(TextBox.ToggleState, false, true) or iif(toggle state = 'Collapsed', Parameter A, Parameter B)) in visibility column with expression but it does not seems to work in SSRS 2005.
I am using SSRS in my web aaplication to display reports, but i face few problem like:
1. I have place two textbox in report footer & i want to sum their value and display on third textbox. but error occured, error is :
"Error 1 [rsMultiReportItemsInPageSectionExpression] The Value expression for the textbox 'textbox21' refers to more than one report item. An expression in a page header or footer can refer to only one report item."
textbox21 is third textbox. Expression for Third Textbox is "=ReportItems!textbox17.Value + ReportItems!textbox18.Value"
2. In export option i want to set excel option by default, user just click on export link. 3. Footer section not available in excel or pdf file, when i export report to excel or pdf format.
For your information, I have created my application in Visual Studio 2005
I'm currently working on a project that will allow users to do the following:. Choose one or more reports from the report library.2. Cycle through each report, choosing the parameter values to use to run each report.3. Generate a pdf containing all of the reports in one large file.4. Download the pdf.I'm handling 1, 3, and 4 just fine but running into some problems with item 2. The multi-select parameters are giving me headaches. Basically I want a page that contains the parameter selection piece of the standard SSRS web interface but instead of "View Report" it would fire off a function I've created that saves the parameter values and then reloads the page for the next report in the list chosen by the userDoes anyone know if the Report.aspx source code is available somewhere? I'm currently using a PopupControlExtender, CheckboxList, and Textbox to try and mimic the functionality of the multi-select parameter interface that's provided by SSRS but am having trouble getting the page to postback when the user clicks outside the list of parameter values (the default SSRS interface does this).
I have created a drill down report in SSRS which works fine in Visual studio but when deployed and viewed using a report viewer on an asp.net web page it acts funny. It load fine the first time but as soon as i expand any of the drill downs the width of the report suddenly becomes very! lengthy and the details data disappears.
I have been trying to create a header and a footer for a class assignment. I thought all you had to do was create a masterpage and proceed from there, but nothing seems to work?
How do I hide the default browser's behavior to print the URL at the top of the page and page x of y at the bottom.I know how to change this client side, but how can I do the same in my application server side?
SSRS (Microsoft Reporting Engine) allows to insert another report file into the header section.SSRS TemplatesPeeking inside the available options of SQL Server Reporting Services, I found a way to make "Report File" a "Template File" which is said to be a time savior and uniformity maintainer across reports. The first one might be true but for the later one—a template file is nothing then a "copy/paste" one report to a new file.
Scenario: I have a Gridview where I want to handle the Sorting in a custom control that I've added to the header. I've added this control to my GridView's Header via OnRowCreate event handling. I want the Sort Expressions to persist session to session (via Webparts Personalization)
Here is what I have for adding the custom header control to the GridView Header
[Code]....
This works out well for adding the control, but I can't get anything to persist because these controls are creating initially via postback (per the event) and re-created on all subsequent postbacks. I can't add an If(!IsPostback) because the controls are initially created on the gridview's postback (well at least thats how it's acting when I put it in there) If I were to add this control via the ASP page, not via the Codebehind, I would be able to persist the control. If I try to treat it as though everything is setup correctly, and assign my custom control's controls to [Personalizable], I get a runtime error telling me that I can only have webpartzones in or before Page_init (I'm guessing this is due to when/where the gridview hits the OnRowCreate event). If there is some fundimental logic I'm missing, or best practices that I'm moving away from,
I have an aspx page that I populate to create a diploma. I thn have code that does a "window.print." Unfortunately, the diploma prints with the name of the page and "Page 1 of 1" at the top and the address of the page and the date printed at the bottom. These ruin the diploma. How can I print this page programmatically WITHOUT the header and footer info?
Here is the code I use to populate the diploma page and print it:
I have to display the Website Header and footer from Database . Header and footer also contains the images now how i accomplish this task and what would be best Strategy.
I am trying to add a header and footer to this mastertpage layout actually two headers(one for logo, one for menu). I added a div but it keeps dividing the page into two horizontally.
I am trying to get rid of the IE added header and footer such as Page Title, Page 1 of 1, Url, Etc..
I am using the following code. My goal is when a user click on the PRINT button within my application, I would call SetIEON, print the page and SetIEOff.
However, when my code gets to SetIEOn at
Dim oKey As RegistryKey = Registry.CurrentUser.OpenSubKey(strKey, bolWritable) oKey.SetValue(strName, oValue)
it crashes with a NullReferenceException. I'm using VS 2008 .NET 2.0
See code below.
'Removing the header and footer in the Windows Registry
Public Sub SetIEOn() Dim strKey As String = "SoftwareMicrosoftInternet ExplorerPageSetup" Dim bolWritable As Boolean = True Dim strName As String = "footer" Dim oValue As Object = ""
