We have a problem that in IE8 some of table rows (made by Reporting Services) are cut if compatibility mode of a browser is set to on (exactly a page is cut on bottom and left side and it is not visible). So we have to explain at every customer to disable compatibility mode. Does exist any way to display report page correctly even if a compatibility mode is on? Is this a bug?

View 1 RepliesI have a table with 3 rows, each with an ASP.NET panel with a gridview in it. For some reason, this is causing IE8 to go into compatibility view mode. If I change the table to 3 seperate divs, this works but if I use divs some functionality (i.e. max height) doesn't work as it does on tables. I've also tried 3 seperate tables but to no avail.
View 2 RepliesHave some reports that currently generate Html and function well across Chrome, IE(s), and Firefox.Need to generate PDFs and export to excel so Report viewer looked an easy choice to start.First report went easy and works fine with IE(s) and Firefox but for Chrome I am getting a a scrunchedup narrow, left aligned menu and table with no paging and basically a mess and unusable.I do not want to turn off Chrome and am at a loss as to how to proceed.

When I attempt to add the <httpProtocols> sections into the <system.web> I get
Parser Error Message: Unrecognized configuration section system.web/httpProtocol.
I ideally need to be able to add customHeaders through the IIS6 web.config (I however am assuming this won't work)
I have created an intranet site that has a reorder list.IE8 defaults to running intranet sites in compatibility mode. My reorderlist does not like this. Basically the drag/drop function goes away.
Now, i have tried adding the <meta
http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" /> but it does not fix it. It fixes most of my issues, but not the drag/drop.If i tell the browser to NOT use compatibility mode, everything seems to work as intended, but there is no way i can force all the users to disable it.
I'm generally very experienced but CrystalReports and ReportViewer give me little joy.I'm a web developer but I don't think that explains everything.All I want is to report a table from a database. Why do I need to specify a Value field? Can I use a LINQ to SQL object to insert fields to the report.There seems to be a serious lack of tutorials in all these areas.

There is one service that is responsible for authentication of users. The logic of authentication is custom and complex and authentication service uses different membership providers.
We want to protect the access to server services for non-authenticated users. The users must firstly authenticate and than use other services (users in this case are the other systems, services, WinForms client, etc.). On this basis, we decided to use the ASP.NET Url/File Authorization feature.
So, I set on the ASP.NET compatibility mode, allowed cookie in all binding configurations, added AspNetCompatibilityRequirements attribute to our services and added the followingconfigurations to config:

Me with C#.Net 2.0 I am generating reports using report.rdlc in my application. In my report.rdlc I have a table to list item details (name,qty,price,amount) in the footer of the report.rdlc amount is sumed to show total amount. How can I show this table in such a way that if only 1 or 2 products are there it should fill the whole page (products at the top and rest blank) and the total amount should be shown at the bottom of the page

I'm using ASP.NET to have a panel that can expand downwards to a certain point, at which point the user can scroll within the panel, both vertically and horizontally (horizontally because one GridView has a lot of columns which would be impossible to display without horizontal scrollbars in the panel/div)Problem is, if I set the panel (asp:Panel control) that holds the GridView to have Scrollbars="Both", and have a max-height set on the panel, IE8 refreshes into compatibility mode. If I remove the max height, or have only vertical scrollbars, it works fine. Any workarounds for this?

Issue is that HyperLink Control is disbale in IE 8 but not in IE compatibility mode.
Would adding "X-UA-Compatible: IE=EmulateIE7" as an http header to trigger IE9 to render in compatibility mode negatively affect performance on the server? I made the change today, adding it, but now some areas of our site are behaving sluggishly, though we did have a large number of changes come in overnight. I know that we can't single out this as the problem, but my boss seems to think it is.
View 3 RepliesI am using a reportviewer control to display some key reports on my page. These reports are RDLC reports and some of them have multiple tables in them each being fed by a separate datasource.
There are times when some datasets do not return any values. When this happens these table show up as blank with just the headers in them.
Is there a way to hide a table, when there is no data returned by a Dataset (or the filter) on the table?
At the least, can a message "No Rows Returned be Displayed" when there is no data?
How to combine two table in a database to create a single report. For example I am having two tables in a database linked each other by means of primary and foreign key I cant able to combine these two tables while designing in aspx window. I have already created a report in SSRS 2008. I'm using the Report Viewer to view it. I have one Report Parameter which is a list of usernames. I'd like to programatically select a particular value from that list.
So for instance, user: sdsmith goes to the page. The webpage will grab that username, check it against the list in ReportParameter1, then set the value of ReportParameter1 to sdsmith if it's found in the list.

I have some reports that I was using in SQL reporting services. Extensions are .rdl and want to get them to work with VS 2008.
I copied the rdl files and the .rdl.data files over to VS 2008 (SP1) project but when I go to select the report in the control it does not see the file (I assume it is looking for a .rdlc file)
I tried rename the file to .rdlc and loaded the file up and got
