View 5 RepliesI need to create a subscription for my SSRS reports in an asp.net page.I can show the reports in a reportviewer using Reporting.WebForms. SSRS is on the another computer in my network. For reportviewer, I use "admin" and "pass" for credentials which is the SSRS machine's admin username and password and it's ok. And admin has all the roles for SSRS reports. But when I try to createSubscription via ReportingService2006 web service I can't make it. I'm not a professional nor amateur. searched the web a lot. tried this and the odetocode version of this: 1. technet - something similar 1
View 1 RepliesI can't use the SQL Reporting Services ReportViewer control for security reasons I'm using the SQL Reporting Services web service to get reports When the format of the report is HTML I insert the report in the middle of the page doing this
[Code]....
the important parts are the GetEncoding to convert the Byte[] of the html since a Byte[] is what is returned from SSRS but I'm at a loss for how to do something similar if the format of the report is PDF if the Byte[] contains a PDF how do I show it? I'm able to show the PDF using Response.BinaryWrite(result); after setting the Response.ContentType to pdf but that displays the PDF as the ENTIRE page I have a Master page and the content page has other text and navigation buttons, etc I need to show the pdf in the middle of the page This is an ASP.NET 3.5 application
I am programmatically exporting multiple reports to a pdf via the ssrs web services using C#.Net. It exports a single report just fine, I was wondering if there was a way to export multiple reports? I tried block copying the byte arrays from all the reports into a single byte array, but it only displays the last report.
View 1 RepliesI have created a web application will will eventually be the holding place for several reports. Rather than creating a new webform for each report, I want to use the same report viewer for all of the reports. I have created an AccountSummary dataset (AccountSummaryDS.xsd) that has two tables, one for the header information and one for the details. I have two webforms in the app, a Default.aspx that captures the necessary employee information for the query and the ReportForm.aspx that has the reportviewer control.
I came up with the code below for a Windows form application but am having issues translating it to be used in a webform.
[Code]....
I have a report displayed in ReportViewer with this matrix format:-
Row field = Country
Value field = Sales$
I want on buttonclick, the report refresh and change to
Row field = Country
Value field = Unit sold
Users want to get email PDF report. I am using ASP.net Reportviewer .rdlc file in local mode (I don't have a sql reporting services). My question is how to generate PDF reports programmatically without going to the report web page.
View 2 RepliesI have to find User Profile property name programatically, not for a particular user, I have to find all properties name for all users at a time(not to iterate one by one) to display in webparts as columns.

In IIS 7 you can create database connection strings. I suppose this must be encrypted and best protected by IIS. This is nice, but how do I access it programmatically?
View 7 RepliesI have an ASP.NET page that creates directories, and in another page I upload some files in these folders, but when I upload a file in a directory, the below error appears:
Access to the path 'my path' is denied.
VWD 2008 Express. Visual Basic.
I know how to create an AccessDataSource on my aspx page and how to use the datasource to populate gridviews, etc. But I want to know how I can programmatically populate a dataset by querying an Access database. How do I make queries to an Access database programmatically?
I have a GridView :
[code]....
I want to query the value of a particular field in a DB and if it's true, display the LinkButton. if false, I want the linkButton not to be displayed.
is there a way to access the GridView programmatically and make visible certain of its columns or manipulate its items ?
i know that i can set a Label's text by using this syntax:
lblMessage.Text = (string)GetGlobalResourceObject("resxFile", "message");
but what's the difference(benefit/drawbacks) to using this syntax:
lblMessage.Text = Resources.resxFile.message;
also, i just found out that this second method doesn't work for local resource files. is there a different syntax used for local resource files?
I've created an asp.net sitemap with nodes that I will have to make visible on the condition of the sql table the webpage of the node accesses.
Where is the code of my sitemap.
[Code]....
Here is the code I have tried.
[Code]....
Each time I run this code the item.target, item.value, item.text equals the sitemapnode title. Yet, it should be different than this. I was hoping to store the table title of the sitemapnode in the value property. The reason for this is to enable my boss to modify the sitemap without having to explore the C# code. I'm lucky that if I could get him to open the sitemapfile. He does not want to worry about the code breaking down when he makes an addition to the sitemap node.
I have found that I can change the value programmatically in C# but this would contrast with what my boss would want.
I would like to programmatically access a div in a style sheet for my master page and change its height value depending on the content page loaded.
Can this be done using Javascript in the Master page or in the code behind for the respective page? What I would like is something such as this if possible
When this content page loads, change the height value of this div in the css file
I don't want to use separate Master pages as this seems to defeat the whole purpose of the Master page
I have an asp.net app that allows users to create personal pages which can be publicly accessed thru a "directory" page. The content of the pages is stored in sql server, so a given user's page is dynamically created thru the code that executes when the relevant link on the directory page is clicked.
I would like to take this a step further by allowing access to a given user's page directly thru the browser's address bar, something like www.thegreatestsite.com/jim (pretty much like You Tube, Facebook, etc.).
I could achieve this by manually creating a folder under the root, called "jim" and putting a default.aspx page in it which would have code in it's load event that would dynamically create jim's page.
However, I would like this "additional feature" to be created automatically, as part of the sign up process of the user.
I m trying to read the tags of a local HTML file. I found out this code online but it works for the aspx pages on the server and of the current app only.

THis code acceses the following section of an html page -
<meta name="Keywords"content=" B=Msdn;A=Forums;L=en-US;"
/>
My question is how can i do the same for a local(client) html page?
Can i do it for a html page on server?
This was originally posted, in error, to another forum. Not sure how that happened. Anyways, here goes... I have a web app that uses javascript functions to make rounded corners. One of the functions requires two colors as parameters. I cannot change this function definition. My web app is in asp.net 4.0 and uses master pages and themes. To facilitate programmatic access, I moved all javascript declaration into the code behind file of the master page. It gets generated in the load event: I declare it there as a big
string (using StringBuilder) and then put it into the page with Page.
ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(... Now that I have introduced themes into my application, I have discovered a serious problem. These themes each utilize their own CSS and skin files to paint the various elements of the app's web pages in different colors (of course). But remember, as parameters, one of my javascript functions requires two colors. And now that I have themes I can no longer manually code these colors into the javascript declaration... Now I have to discover a way to extract the background color and one other color from the current theme's CSS file. Then I can feed that into the javascript declarations in the master page's PageLoad event in the master page's code behind file. This would allow the javascript function to be called on the page load and to use the current theme's colors as parameters.
I need a reliable method to switch off users' access to SSRS dynamically. If you care about the reason, users are not allowed to access SSRS from home, but they are allowed access from within the factory walls.
I can generate a token or event when they arrive at work or leave, no problem, such is the sophistication of our security system.
So I can create a little .net app that pokes SSRS in some way and tells SSRS to allow that username to access reports. When the users leaves the premises, the .net app will prod SSRS to deny that username access.
I considered dynamically adding and removing usernames from the authentication section of web.config in the SSRS root dir, as in <deny=usernamelist />. But given the frequency of changes (dozens per hour at peak times), that seems too intrusive, as it probably causes the restart of the app.
I tried adding usernames to the ACL on the SSRS physical directory (Microsoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2Reporting ServicesReportServer) as deny reader, and for a few brief minutes I thought I had arrived at a solution, but for some reason SSRS decided to serve pages to denied users seemingly at random. Must be cached somewhere, although I can't for the life of me figure out why that would be happening seemingly at random.
I rather like the ACL idea from the perspective of ease of control, and if there's a simple thing i have overlooked in the way SSRS interacts with IIS and NTFS permissions, I hope someone can point it out so I can understand why the ACL seems to be mostly ignored.
I want to access the header text of bound fields programatically. suppose i have GridView1 with following bound fields:
<asp:BoundField Visible="false" DataField="ID" HeaderText="ID" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="Title" HeaderText="Title" /> <asp:BoundField Visible="false" DataField="Description" HeaderText="Description" />
how can I access their header text programmatically ( display it(either using response.write or any label)
I'm designing some reports to summarize recently compiled research findings. These reports are going to be posted on an ASP.NET page (via the report control) on the web site. I do not want to authenticate users, as the findings are meant to be public and requiring users to register and authenticate would add a barrier and is likely to decrease traffic.I've seen similar posts where reports are meant to be viewed by everyone on an intranet and permissions could be set using a designated workgroup. I need alternative solutions to the problem of making a report viewable by everyone who visits a site. I'm also currently unfamiliar with Kerberos (and I know that will probably pop up as a potential solution), so if there's a convenient way outside of that it would be great.
