I'm using the ReportViewer 2008 control embedded in a web page. One of my reports
supports drilling down through the data.
This produces a strange behaviour with the scroll position.
When I click the + icon to toggle visibility, the item clicked expands, then jumps to the top most part of the ReportViewer control.

I have a tablix with subtotals at each level in the header and footer of each group. I know how to toggle the header textback to Hidden when expanding that group, but it then leaves a jagged appearance to he whole report. If I leave it the way it is, I have subtotals in both the header and the footer. What I'd like to do is to blank out the subtotal text in the header when expanded so only the footer is showing the subtotal, thereby retaining the header's textbox's color, borders, etc. and generally eliminating the jagged-looking right edge of the tablix.
I've tried accessing the Hidden property of the matching footer subtotal without success. I've even tried counting rows in the text-color expression of the header, but to no avail. Does anybody have any ideas on how to toggle the subtotal text in the header without creating a gaping empty space in that cell? I'd like to write something like,
=iif(ReportItems!sumFtrCustomerHours.Hidden,Sum(Fields!Hours.Value), "") but ReportItems only have one one property - Value.
I want to do ReportViewer, and i want have created a DataSet. I fail to drag the data table from ToolBox. My ToolBox doesn't exist any data table. The output i want to archive is something like this in my DataSet

Using .Net 4.0 and ReportViewer10, however, throws the error "Message: Sys.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: panelsCreated[1]" if you try to keep a panel containing the ReportViewer hidden until after a button click.Since I couldn't find much about this topic online, I'd basically been working around this for some time until I figured out today that if you reset the ReportViewer ReportPath in the code behind in the button click (even if it's the same path as in the aspx page), you can successfully keep the ReportViewer hidden until the button click.

I have the following code that will take the report from the reportviewer and on a click of a button, export it to PDF. So now, I can hide the reportviewer and just have the button click events generate my PDF's. I do not know how to tweak this code to enable me to print directly from another button's click event without the reportviewer being visible.

What I am looking for is how to fill the tableadapter that I am using in the .xsd dataset file to the I do not have to incorporate reportviewers anymore?I know my code above would need to be adjusted so that its not looking at ReportViewer1 for the Report/Data... But I do not know how to do this.

This works fine.I'd like to have the *same* RDLC use a different TableAdapter (schema of table is the exact same, but may have multiple records). I have a reportviewer that uses a dynamically generated RDLC (which means the RDLC is created at run-time through an XSL) to generate reports. I have no issue loading the report. My problem is with its toolbar. It is always disabled. I can't perform search, change the report size, or export the report to another file format.

I am new to this sql reporting service. But anyhow by surfing I am able to bind the report but i was stuck in image display.Anyways, i also managed that. But the real problem is whenever i was keeping a image control in rdlc report i was having session prob. If i remove the image control then as usual report works fine.either for session problem or for image display. I am keeping the image name in database but for binding the rdlc report i am using a store procedure which return the path (static) concating with the image name(kept in database).

We are building a website in ASP.NET 4 with VS2010 and we need to add some reports with ReportViewer control.
Is there any tutorial or examples that explain how to create a ReportViewer for differente languages in VS2010?

I try to use a reportviewer for a localreport. The page ran without error but the ReportViewer didn't display, not even the control itself. To verify I did get the data from the SQL server, I bind the same datatable to a gridview on the same page at the same time. The gridview displays the data without any problem and the reportviewer is just a blank area.
View 2 RepliesMy app is an ASP.NET 2.0 website. I use UpdatePanel to contain all UserControls. I also use ReportViewer control (local mode) for report function. When user click on "View Report" button, a javascript will be executed to open a new window which contains the ReportViewer control. Everything works well in my pc (Windows XP, IIS 5.1).
However, when I deploy the code to app server (Windows 2k3, IIS 6), I encounter a critical issue. After the report window is opened, whenever I click a button or change value of a DropDownList (UpdatePanel will be reloaded after these actions), an exception "Failed to load viewstate" is thrown.

So here is the situation. We have a very simple report on a report server, which is the same server as our application server. When viewing the report directly on the report server, printing works fine. Also, when running my asp.net application locally in debug mode printing works fine. The only time we have a problem is when we deploy to the application server and access the reportviewer embedded in the page. When pressing the print button in this situation, nothing happens at all. Then when pressed a second time, I get a javascript error saying "Permission denied." with no further information. Then the page automatically refreshes and that cycle starts over.

I dont want to copy paste the rdlc files into one large file. found a control by Telerik called ReportBook but it costs money!! [URL] anyone knows something similar? or am i missing something very obvious? using visual studio 2005... will subreports solve my problem? not sure how these work. so say i have a report that lists employers and i create a subreport that lists all employees for a particular empoyer. is it then possible on one rdlc to have the list of employers and a bunch of subreports for each employer's employees?
