Im trying to use the following SQL statement to find every row in Orderable Test List where there is not a row in Results Individual Tests that has a matching entry in the TESTHISCD column. When I run the page everything freezes up.

i am trying to compare four columns in two tables(both are in the same schema), table a has two columns for firstname and last name , table b has similar columns firstname and last name, i wish to compare both and if there are similarities, do nothing but if there are differencies, export or write them to a exception or error table.. not quite sure what if statement i should write or how to go about this.

ActDetails: ActID, AStartDate, AEndDate,
What i would like to do is to compare the AStartDate with both StartDate and EndDate which will be done in a DetailsView both insert and edit mode. This is to make sure AStartDate is within both those dates. (Same goes for AEndDate)
At first i though of extracting the StartDate and EndDate from the database and then make the comparison. But i am having problem because both StartDate and EndDate are data type "date" as follows:

Since these table are on two different boxes and 2 different versions, I am getting error message that tables cant be compared because they have different schema's.Schema's are the same but they are on different machines and different servers. What is a work around it?
I am using bulk insert concept to export the data from dat file to tables(Two tables). I am using the temporary table for to do the calculation and insertion to two tables. My problem is whenever I selecting the temp table data after the execution of bulk insertion , the order is changing .I need to get the order as it is in file order(csv,dat,txt).

View 4 RepliesI have a large database of user profile data. I need to be able to compare 1 row against all of the other rows, for all columns to find the best match.There are around 30 columns of data for each row. I need to be able to find the 5 best matching rows.
I.E.
Row 1 matches on 2 column's
Row 2 matches on 12 column's
Row 3 matches on 7 column's
Row 4 matches on 4 column's
Row 5 matches on 9 column's
Row 6 matches on 23 column's
Row 7 matches on 29 column's
In the end it will show me the data for rows 7, 6, 2, 5, 3 Now to make it even harder, Some of the columns are bit, some are varchar.Some of them may be a direct match, some will need to search if the column for row2 contains the text of row 1.

I'm trying to compare a string from a label to a varchar(50) in my database. String Occasion = '1 2010-07-07 10:00' compared to varchar(50) OccasionID = '1 2010-07-07 10:00'

I've checked that the values really are identical in the debug. I was under the impression that no conversion is neccessary between string and varchar, but maybe I'm wrong.
As I know, we can use INSERT INTO (....) SELECT FROM command to select data from one table and can insert into another table.
Now I need instead of 1 table, I want to select data from one table and Insert into another 2 tables.
Shall I write another INSERT INTO (..) SELECT FROM command or is there any other way?

I am trying to build a small e-commerce website that will allow user to upload and store the image of their product in the database and also the user could upload the image of the product and compare it with all the similar product images that are already stored in the database. I am using MS ASP.Net using VB.Net as the front end.
if MS SQL server is the best option to carry out such task or should I consider some other database to do this in terms of complexity involved as well as the integration with MS .Net framework.
I have Create user form through which i am creating thousands of users and generating unique user id's. If there are lot of concurrent users using the form then how should I display the new generated user id to user through stored procedure I have tried returning the value by comparing row count and checking with user name but its not working in fast way.I am displaying the user id on form itself.Any alternate solution for this?

The problem though is that the person "Bart" with an Id of 3 is left out because he does not have an entry in the second table.So how can I include Bart in the output in such a way that the output might look like this:
1 Joe 22 CoyLap
2 James 33 Manes
3 Bart null null
Or spaces can instead appear for Barts last name and age instead of null.Basically I just need Bart in the output as well even though he has no age and last name.
I have two sql tables.
- (Fields:PersonID, FirstName, LastName, Role, Department)
and
- (fields: PersonID, Unit).

I just want this logic on how to insert Date1 to date 7 as 7 rows into Timesheet table and EMpName into EMployee table.while accesing each row i need to insert Date 1 to date7 as 7 rows into Timesheet table.

I have 3 tables. I need to insert data from 2 tables into the 3rd table.
The first table has 2 fields -- c_id, c_key
The second table has -- t_id, u_id, partial_c_key
I need to insert c_id, u_id in the 3rd table.
Problem is partial_c_key in the second table contains only a part of the c_key in the first table.
Ex:
First table:
c_id--c_key

4--301A
Second Table:
t_id -- u_id -- partial_c_key

2--36--301
In the data above partial_c_key 200 has 3 c_ids in the first table (1,2,3 with values 200A, 200B, 200C) and 301 has just 1 which is 301A.
In the 3rd table I need to insert c_id, u_id so the data should be
u_id -- c_id
23 -- 1
23 -- 2
23 -- 3
36 -- 4
How do I write a query to accomplish that?

I basically have a series of tables from one database that have an identical structure thus making retrieval of all records fairly easy (I just use a UNION ALL statement). However I need a list of values from another table within a different database that contains information regarding the group of the data.
I so far have the following:

I keep receiving a unable to parse message however all I need to retreive is the SR_GROUP value but just don't know the correct syntax. Is it actually possible to do this as the structure of SRFILE is not the same as Table1/2/3.
