I want to compare smalldatetime values in my db to a calendar date. I'm not getting any value from dr[0] when I debug and put breakpoint in code below. Same thing if I select 'dateStart' instead of 'count(*)'. Any ideas?
Im creating a website with an anual subscription base and im using the default asp.net website mebership tools. in the membership table of my DB there is a CreateDate for each user. I would like to know if it is possible to check from the SQL DB if this condition is true: (CreateDate+365 days)>TodayDate each time a user logs in. If the conditional is true I would like to change the user IsLockedOut = true so i can know that he has to reSubscribe.
i would like to compare the current date with the date entered by user..however, i'm encountering errors so far..
i tried something like this:
<asp:TextBox id="txtDate1" runat="server" /> <asp:CompareValidator runat="server" ErrorMessage="The date must be greater than today" ControlToValidate="txtDate1" type="date" ValuetoCompare="DateTime.Today.ToShortDateString()" />
and i got an error stating that the value of DateTime.Today.ToShortDateString() of the ValueToCompare property of "" cannot be converted to type 'date' i also tried ValueToCompare="DateTime.Now.Date()" and i got the same error message.
I have a problem that is frustrating me to death. I am taking a date from a textbox and trying to see if the date has passed yet, but the datetime.compare function is giving me bad results when the date is today's date. Here is my code:
[Code]....
When I output to console, I get a value of "-1" even though the dates are exactly the same.
I added all that Addhours,minutes,seconds garbage to try to troubleshoot the problem, but I get the same result even without it.
I added a stoppoint and stepped through the code, and the date values it is comparing are identical, yet it gives me a value of -1 instead of 0.
I have a compare validator datatypecheck that was set up to check the date entered. I am now changing this to check to make sure that the date/time entered is valid. I changed the binding to be the date and time. I am not seeing anything that I need to change on the compare validator.
When I run the program and enter a date and time into the textbox, it is giving me the error that it is an invalid date. What am I missing?
I have a database that has several timestamp fields. One is addTime, another is editTime, and the final one is subTime. depending on which part of the web application the user uses, it will update one of these fields. I know in a sql command in the code behind you can use the getDate() function to populate a value, but will the sql command automatically parse it to the SmallDateTime datatype in the database?
I am trying to store a SQL Server datetime into MySQL datetime field, but MySQL stores the date value as all zeros. I use this function to trim the fractional part from the SQL Server datetime, but get the same result when trying to store it in MySQL.
When attempting to place controls in different content areas using Masterpages and trying to use a compare validator, I get the error: Unable to find control id 'txtStartDate' referenced by the 'ControlToCompare' property of 'cvlDate'. I have also attempted to set it within the c# code behind in page load: cvlDate.ControlToCompare = txtStartDate.ID and by using findControl there must be an easy way to achieve this?
In one of my stored procedure I have to compare two nvarchar datatype values.The values containing both numerical and characters.Which function should I write? And one more problem i.e if a number containing zeros in starting ,I should also match including zeros.But not omit zeros.
