SQL Server :: Insert Decimal Values To The Database Using C# Code

Using sql server and trying to insert decimal values using a ASP.NET C# code. I get the value for hours from a text box through user input and I'm trying to insert it to the database.
strSQLWAUpdate = " UPDATE Project SET WAHours='" + txtWAHours.Text + "' WHERE WAProjectID='" + hidWAProjectID.Value + "' ";
What happens is it rounds off the hours to interger value. So if I insert 22.3 in the text box what i get in the database is 22 and if I insert 22.7 I get 23 in the database. I do not need any rounding but need to get the values as it is. ( that is 22.3 and 22.7 respectively)
I have my form set in french as well, and it automatically changes the text format to use ','. However When I try to insert my values into the database it says cannot convert nvarchar to decimal? Worst case, Is there a way I can disable the numbers from changing to use ',' and just use '.' always regardless what language it is?

It's trying to update a column which data type is set to decimal. Just so you know what I really need out of it, here is an example:

The answer of which should add on 0.5 to the original value. If I were to use the increase value of 60 which then becomes 60/60 it will work.I'm dividing by 60 because the increase value is per hour so I make it smaller to get per minute value. Why is it doing this?
i need to insert multiple rows at a time into database table(sqlserver) from datatable or gridview. Actually iam looping through the rows of gridview and inserting each row. Is there any method to insert entire table of rows at a time into database table. Both datatable columns and database table coulmns are similar.
in my database table has four field as follws firstname, lastname, User_id and serial no as (Autonumber as well as PK) i am able to insert first 3 values by insert query as above but, insert autonumber data type mismatch.

I am trying to insert 8 different selected values from a CheckBoxList into 8 different columns of a database. As it now, I am only able to concatenate all 8 selections into a single string in one column. But this is not what I want to do. In my DB I have Column1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. I copy in a DataTable a GridView to display this GridView in a another page. It works but the gridview's content is not encoded in UTF-8.

I need to update bulk values (more than 20000 each time) from my web form into sql server 2005 .I have a web page , from which when i click submitt button values from the form should be inserted . For that i tried normal method as shown below

I'm coding my first VB web application, which allows a user to input an order number and pull up invoice and shipping data linkd to that order number.
I have the first bit down and working, where the existing data in the database is displayed in the GridViews. One of the GridViews is set up to allow data editing, and I have syntax set to make the row editable, but I'm struggling with getting the "Update" link/functionality to work. I want to assign the values in each cell to an object (ie. 'dgInvNumber' for Invoice Number), but everything I've tried (been doing a ton of Google searching for help, but no luck yet) keeps giving me an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error when I click the Update link for the row of data being edited.
At this point, I don't know what syntax to use to get the edited values out of the GridView row and assigned to objects for each cell (I have a total of 10 cells that can be edited in a row).
For background info, the GridView is set up with Bound Fields. I'm using Visual Studio 2005. Alot of places I've looked talk about TextBox controls and using FindControl. Also seen some places talk about DataBoundLiteral Controls. I tried the latter with no luck (still getting error). For TextBox controls, I don't understand how to use that part, since it mentions referencing the TextBox controls declared in the EditItemTemplates of the TemplateField column fields in the GridView control. But I didn't set up anything in the EditItemTemplates (that I know of).
