Feb 16, 2011Instead of using cross join for select query, I need to used cross join for insert query. How to do this?

Apr 19, 2010I'm trying to execute a simple insert statement with the GUID and timestamp populated by default from the server. I have both of their default values set as (newid()) and (getutcdate()) respectively in SQL server. However, I receive the error when I try and execute the command "Insert Error: column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition". How do I construct my sql insert so my id and timestamp columns use their default values as assigned in sql server?

Nov 8, 2010Using sql server and trying to insert decimal values using a ASP.NET C# code. I get the value for hours from a text box through user input and I'm trying to insert it to the database.
strSQLWAUpdate = " UPDATE Project SET WAHours='" + txtWAHours.Text + "' WHERE WAProjectID='" + hidWAProjectID.Value + "' ";
What happens is it rounds off the hours to interger value. So if I insert 22.3 in the text box what i get in the database is 22 and if I insert 22.7 I get 23 in the database. I do not need any rounding but need to get the values as it is. ( that is 22.3 and 22.7 respectively)

In other situations I have passed such values in the query string and then assigned them to the parameter collection, no problem.Also, please note, I have tried using the @PreviousPageType directive to get at the types on page1, but have met with no success there either.

Jan 28, 2010I have some structured objects that map to multiple DB tables that I have created using LINQ using [Association(Name=, Storage=, ThisKey=, OtherKey=)] links to the objects attached to other tables. If I try to create an association to an object attached to a table on another database server, will this throw an error/go horribly wrong (I'm guessing yes)? If this _is_ possible, are there any issues I need to be aware of?

This select statement return 500000 records but both table did not have that much recordsI have shown the Records in every table:A=19396 and B= 25366 records.How it will return more then 5 lakh records in above select statemenet?. Please let me know if any one faced this issue earlier?

Now , Every Employee has one or more than one from these devices , When I used INNER JOIN in my select query , I didn't get what I need
the result show a one user in 4 rows,(user have all devices)

I can combine the data from the two tables using an inner join.
1 Joe 22 CoyLap
2 James 33 Manes
The problem though is that the person "Bart" with an Id of 3 is left out because he does not have an entry in the second table.So how can I include Bart in the output in such a way that the output might look like this:
1 Joe 22 CoyLap
2 James 33 Manes
3 Bart null null
Or spaces can instead appear for Barts last name and age instead of null.Basically I just need Bart in the output as well even though he has no age and last name.
