View 2 RepliesI've got a vb.net page that when a user clicks a button in a gridview, it copys the file (row seleted) in the gridview as "Label2" from the webserver to the users pc. (We had to setup a lot of security to get it so the webserver could copy to the users pc). I have that all working fine, but now, I'm trying to see if FileStream will then open the file that was just downloaded on the users PC. I'm not familiar with FileStream, and could use a little push in the right direction. (Disclaimer, yes I know downloading the file directly to the pc is a crazy thing to do, but it's a really long story. :-)
For the FileStream portion, I found this sample, but don't quite understand if I can incorporate it into my button click event. Here's the sample [URL]

On a home PC I have SQL Server 2005 installed. If I go to SQL server management studio and select my database, I can then right click on the "Database Diagrams" folder and then select "New Database Diagram" from the popup menu. I can then generate a database diagram. However on my PC at work if I follow the same steps as above, the popup menu does not show an option for "New Database Diagram". Instead my choices are "Working with SQL Server 2000 diagrams" and "Refresh". So why is the "New Database Diagram" menu option missing? Also what is odd is that the popup selection reads "Working with SQL Server 2000 diagrams" when in fact I am using SQL Server 2005 not 2000? Does anyone know why my option to create a database diagram is missing?

View 2 RepliesThe more I think about it, the more confused I get. Is this even an ASP.NET question? Maybe it's a Silverlight question, or maybe it's an IIS question. Maybe it's a C/C++ question?!
I rent a server from a server farm. I also subscribe to a security service that streams, over the Internet, once every three seconds, via https, a series of JPG photos from four outdoor security cameras at a certain location.
I want to collect these photos on my rented server (server side). Keep in mind these are photos, not video, though after two weeks of streaming you can get around 50 GB of photos I am told, so I'll have to track storage consumed and delete the old ones, but that's a minor issue.
I researched how to capture streaming photos in ASP.NET and found nothing. I researched it in Silverlight and found a number of links for client side video chatting (a new feature supported by Silverlight 4) both multi-user and single-user, assuming they have web-cams attached to their client side PC. Not quite the same problem as what I have, since I don't care to attach any process to the four security cameras (the security company already wrote the software to do that, and is streaming it live). I just want to know how I can capture and store the streamed photos on my server.
I want to generate 30,000 cards and each card must be duplicate check with database. In my card, there are 2 things. Serial No and CardID. If any card already exists then I generate another card id but with the same serial no.
So how faster way I can generate 30,000 card with duplicate check? Which one I have made application, it takes about 25 minutes to insert.
In of my application I am using the database to store and retrive images. The table stores the documents and the datatype of the field is IMage.
Now with Sql Server 2008, i would like to upgrade this to use this new feature. WHat changes do I have to make in terms of code and also in the database.

But the result is it only insert the first row of the HQDS dataset...then it will give this error :"Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_BRANCH'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object dbo.TS_BRANCH'.The statement has been terminated.
If I comment this line : Destadapter.Fill(HQds, "Testresult")
It doesn't give any error and also it doesn't insert anything to the database.
