How do I union the two queries(Assuming a union is needed)
Which will result in no duplicates and an end result being the following output:
CustName CustId CustZip CustPhone CustEmail CustAddress
As you can see we want to not have duplicate values on output. So something like the following
is not acceptable:

Nov 29, 2010I basically have a series of tables from one database that have an identical structure thus making retrieval of all records fairly easy (I just use a UNION ALL statement). However I need a list of values from another table within a different database that contains information regarding the group of the data.
I so far have the following:
SELECT Table1.* FROM Table1 UNION ALL SELECT Table2.* FROM Table2 UNION ALL SELECT Table3.* FROM Table3 UNION SELECT Database.dbo.SRFILE.SR_GROUP FROM Database.dbo.SRFILE INNER JOIN Database.dbo.SRFILE.SRONUMBER = Table1.Incidentx
I keep receiving a unable to parse message however all I need to retreive is the SR_GROUP value but just don't know the correct syntax. Is it actually possible to do this as the structure of SRFILE is not the same as Table1/2/3.

and then provide a numerical value in textbox So i would like to know if i can pass in 2 parameters to the procedure.. so that my where statement is built based on the inputs from the user.

Whats the best way to accomplish this.. the statement is pretty simple, selecting a few columns and 2 where conditions, the one above and another parameter.

So, I save the current condition of % into the session () and it has been updated accordingly and in the other page session is called using the iframe to be seem as they are in the same page. But the problem is that,
while updating the iframe with update pannel and timmer tick event doent work and only when unzipping process has done, it works.

Jul 15, 2010I have a table with 3 fields, catCode, startDate and endDate. I am having trouble deciding how to query my DB based on the following. By default a gridview will return all records that match the catCode selected from a dropdown list. If the user checks a check box, only records are returned where.
startDate <= today AND endDate >= today
How can I apply the If condition to compare when the check box is selected? I used the wizard to build the select statment for the gridview, but I can switch that to a SP if that makes life easier.

the first one checks for duplicate and the second one inserts the data if the data the user entered is not a duplicate.
Here's a sample of my code:

I was trying to save a trip to the database by using one connection.
The Problem is:
The first command runs okay but the second command which inserts into the database won't work (it doesn't add any records to the db) and when I tried to display the rows affected it gave me -1 !!
The Question is:
Is this is the ideal way to check for a duplicate records to constraint a unique country ? and why the second command is not executing ?

C# - Executing Commands On Unix Box?
Feb 3, 2011I'm in process to create a few utilities for my team to make life a bit easier working with our Unix boxes(most of them Solaris based).
For example I'm creating a ASP .NET page to display the output of TOP. Also plan to be able to restart processes with the KILL -15 command.
Now I wonder if there is any nice modules out the do the work for me or am I better off just going ahead with my own SSH communication?
It would of course make sense building the app on the unix box directly but I'm not able to do this.

Feb 9, 2011I stripped this example to make it simple. I have a gridview with a template field. The template field contains two buttons and a label (They must be in the same template field). I want the first button to set the label text to "Win", and the other button to set the label text to "fail". The onrowcommand doesnt seem to be triggered by buttons in a template field. How can I accomplish this?

Mar 16, 2012In a gridview, how does one create/add more than one button where each does something different?
I need 3 buttons for each row in a gridview.
Each will open a different target page/url when clicked on. I've done this in classic asp but how does one do it in asp.net using gridview? Or should I be doing something else? Maybe a repeater or some other control? I would need sorting and paging too.

Results of 1st query was:

But i want to like below:

in the above queries, 1st query displayed two columns and 2nd query displayed one column. but i would like to append the both results in single table or single record, i mean all results should be in same row in same result.
