Now the issue is that that every document doesn't has document number. I want to make invisible the docuNumber column of the grid viwe if all values in the docNumber retrieved are null.for example:

I am developing a asp.net application and i am using SQL Server 2008. I took a IDENTITY column as Record_ID for detail table where i will have trillions of records per year. So just want to ask whats the largest number record id (identity) column can hold and in ASP.NET which data type i should use to handle record id as i am using this id as a reference to update the table data. Can anyone reliably get the EDS to save a nullable column to the databse as a "null" when bound to any of the controls such as "FormView"?I have tried using several different UpdateParameters (Session, ControlParamater, Parameter, etc). I have tried setting "ConvertEmptyStringToNull" to true and leaving the property off entirely. Nothing works. On my "Inserts" it works fine.(I have made sure the column is set to nullable = true in the Entity Designer.....)

The Combined column in T1 is what i'm trying to complete. The T1.Place column contains the first character that I want to check for.
If it's a "1" then I want to make sure the 5th letter in T2.Order is a "0" If its a "Y" then I want to look for a "1001" If its a "2" then I want to make sure the 8th letter is a "2" in T2.Order
If all that matches then I was the last two letters in T2.Order + T2.Value to be combined and put into the appropiate spot in T1.Combined

I recently moved a .net site from one machine to another, now for some reason one of the stored procedures is throwing an exception when attempting to insert!

BTW, the column in question does have the identity set to Yes in management studio

i have a datatable with several columns and rows. now i want to copy the last column fully (all rows) and create the new column with that values.
it means last column values sholud be moved to new column (now this is the last column).
I thought I had this down. Why isn't my code handling this? It starts writing rows and it gets to the NULL row and then it chokes because the value in the cell is null. I said in the code when it sees the null to assign "". See last line.
