I have created login for site. I am using "UserLogin.ascx" which is placed in masterpage. Now I have to create the Login system so that the users from other sites login to my site through Http post or Get. I have created the page for sending "HTTP Post" to my site and it also login to my site, but when I click on any link it logs out also in the browser's address bar the URL of the previous site is shown.

View 3 RepliesI am working on a application which will accept the data in the post request.I will surely implement the data encryption to make sure that communication is secured. But my concern is, any body who knows the URL will be able to send the POST data request to my application, can I restrict the request from once specific IP address/URL.From a Request object can I find out which application/HOSTname/URL has sent this request. I looked at RefererURL but it can be populated and cannot be used. Is there any other field/properly which will tell me about the party who has sent this request.I want to make sure that I process request received from one specific URL/IP and want to ignore all others.

I was on the MyApplication/Submit.aspx but after a wait of 30 minutes when I hit the submit button it got redirected to the above page with that long string.
I did not have any session variables in my application. Then why this redirection.
Also I could not find any error log from Application_Error method.

I can't Use form action becuase I have to create some values and save some thing in db in code behind.

Currently whenever I need to send a request to a payment-gateway, for example, I redirect my page to another page on my website which has a form with several hidden fields. I then pre-populate the values of these fields server-side, and specify in the body tag something like 'onload="form.submit();"'
However, I'm wondering, rather than redirecting to this page, is there anyway that all this data can be collected and POSTed to the payment-gateway server-side?This will cut out the need to redirect the user to this blank page, and make everything a bit more tidy.

View 6 RepliesI'm pretty new at configuring IIS and working with SSL. I've been having difficulty with switching from the HTTPs protocol to the HTTP protocol. I had set a small part of our website to the HTTPS protocol since it has an SSL certificate for online commmerce.
When users go through that part of the site the HTPPS protocol is set and runs fine, but when they try to leave by, say, clicking on a link to another part of the site (after they have visited the secured portion of the site) the HTTPS stays in the url. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

After registering, i wan to redirect the staff to the creating profile page to input their contact number and self-description which is a must for later use. For first time login staff, how do i compare and see if the contact and description profile is empty or not? If it is empty, then redirect to the create profile page, else just go to staff page.

we would like to redirect the user to a given page if the authentication to our SharePoint site fails (i.e. the standard windows login prompt pops up three times - we are using windows authentication). No matter what option we try it always ends up bringing the user back to a blank page.
We have tried writing a HttpModule (and catch the if Response.StatusCode = 401), which doesn't seem to fire any events if the user is not authenticated. We have tried writing a HttpHandler, but of course we can redirect the user if there is an error code but can't continue onto the desired site if not. We have tried doing the following in the web.config:

My expectation is once the user logs out and if he tries to access any url directly by typing in the browser he should be redirect to login page.But this is not happening now. I have checked the session. it is getting cleared properly while logout. But the user is take in to the screen. How can i fix this? I am looking for something which i can write in the base class so thati need to have to write the same in all the pages. Also this should work in the case of login page(it should not redirect to login page again if try to access login page once user logs out. please not login page also inherits base class).
I have an option in my website to logout from session and redirect to login page.
