Position Footer Div At Bottom Of Last Page (on Screen And Print)?
Jan 15, 2011I have a requirement to position a div on the bottom of the last page when printing. Consider I have a page set up as follows.

x Number of lines that could potentially span 1 or more pages

[div id=Footer style="position: absolute; bottom: 20px; left: 4px; right: 4px;"]

No this code is fine if there are a few lines on the page, but if there are more than just a few the footer then overlaps some of the lines. Is it possible in CSS to fix the footer to the bottom of the page, but to attach to the bottom of the second page if the lines fill the first page. I think its the position absolute that is causing the problem. Has anyone else done this that has an alternative?

Oct 9, 2010I had to exclude several pages from my website to get it to run in vs 2008. When I finally got the home page to come up, I tried to type a character into the login box, and at the first character the probelm blows up:

So far so good...my problem is that the web site is a secure site, meaning I have to provide a user name and password. I've searched all over the web, found many discussions but have yet to find anything that provides specifics on how to accomplish this. Security :: Client Certificate Authentication With Splash Screen?
Mar 21, 2011I'm running into an issue which has me going in circles with the references I've been able to find online. I have an application which is using client certificate authentication (with a removable token). It works well as long as a user doesn't leave their computer. If the token is pulled and any timer events fire on the page causing a postback the application loses its authentication and ends up at an error page.
I've seen some sites which use a mix of (presumably) forms authentication and windows authentication so that the network authentication only has to happen one time and then a token is built which the session relies on for future requests. I had hoped to use something similar to this so that when a new user enters the application they are redirected to a secure page which will request the client certificate (same principal as windows authentication) and then create the token before sending the user back to
their requested page. So far no luck with this.
If I try to setup a subfolder in my website with a different authenication scheme from the root ("windows" vs "forms") I'm given an error in Visual Studio about requiring a separate application in IIS for this to be valid. Working in a development environment this is not practical. Every other technique I've run across which tries to force one page (or folder) to use a windows credential is leaving me with an empty identity object.
Has anyone come up with a way of using a mix of authentication methods to reach the goal I have and still work inside of Visual Studio for development activities?

Mar 24, 2011I have upgraded web application from VS.2008 to vs 2010. I was using previously ReportViewer 2008 control in a page and replaced with 2010 ReportViewer Control.
I have installed the ReportViewer Redistributable also in my local pc as well as in the server. Also as per the new requirement I have placed the Scriptmanager in the web page where the reportviewer control located.
While running the page, the reportviewer run the report and is not showing the data on the screen. It shows the blank screen. But If I export the data to execl or world it is showing the data. Also the page numbers in the reportviewer showing the total pages available in the navigation bar. I am sure the report is running and bringing the data to the screen but not showing it.

Jan 13, 2011 We have ported an existing ASP app to ASP.NET and are now having problems printing from the server to network printers, e.g. to\hereprintername.
This used to work with our ASP app, and printing to server-locally installed printers still works.
I suspect that there is some security or Group Policy object that must be changed to allow printing from an ASP.NET web application to a network printer?
Or perhaps, accessing Active Directory from an ASP.NET application is a problem?
MVC :: Login Page In App Hosted On IIS 7 Integrated Mode - Its Never Getting Redirected To The Home Screen Or Invalid Login Screen
May 19, 2010I have created my first MVC application. I am using forms authenticataion. I have created a custom action filter MyAppAuthorizationFilter which inherits from AuthorizeFilter. Inside this filter I'm authenticating the user credentials by checking them against a database table (by overriding OnAuthorize method). If the user is not authenticated, I am redirecting the users to a login page (which is view of LoginController). I am using this filter agaginst my main controller so that all actions in this filter will execute only if the user is authenticated.
I do not have any problem when I use the asp.net development server (shipped with Visual Studio). But when I deploy the app to our IIS7 server, I can see the login screen when I access the default url, but after entering the credentials (both correct and incorrect) and posting back the Login page, it stays on the Login page (clears the pwd, but not the username). Its never getting redirected to the home screen or invalid login screen.
IIS 7 server has .net framework 3.5SP1, but no MVC. So I deployed the System.Web.Mvc dll in the bin folder.
