Position Footer Div At Bottom Of Last Page (on Screen And Print)?
Jan 15, 2011I have a requirement to position a div on the bottom of the last page when printing. Consider I have a page set up as follows.

[div id=Lines]
x Number of lines that could potentially span 1 or more pages

[div id=Footer style="position: absolute; bottom: 20px; left: 4px; right: 4px;"]

No this code is fine if there are a few lines on the page, but if there are more than just a few the footer then overlaps some of the lines. Is it possible in CSS to fix the footer to the bottom of the page, but to attach to the bottom of the second page if the lines fill the first page. I think its the position absolute that is causing the problem. Has anyone else done this that has an alternative?

SQL Reporting :: Reportviewer 2010 Is Coming With Blank Screen / Data Exists On The Page But Not Showing On The Screen
Mar 24, 2011I have upgraded web application from VS.2008 to vs 2010. I was using previously ReportViewer 2008 control in a page and replaced with 2010 ReportViewer Control.
I have installed the ReportViewer Redistributable also in my local pc as well as in the server. Also as per the new requirement I have placed the Scriptmanager in the web page where the reportviewer control located.
While running the page, the reportviewer run the report and is not showing the data on the screen. It shows the blank screen. But If I export the data to execl or world it is showing the data. Also the page numbers in the reportviewer showing the total pages available in the navigation bar. I am sure the report is running and bringing the data to the screen but not showing it.

Aug 27, 2010I have been trying from the past two weeks to integrate crystal reports into my web application. The problem is "We created some reports using Crystal Reports 2008(Sp2) and we are trying to integrate those reports into webpage. Everything works fine on my local machine but when it is deployed to the production server i ran into a lot of problems..
Problem-1 : First time I load the report it comes to the screen where it prompts for DB credentials and stucks up there..I mean those are non editable and doesn't go to next screen. On my local machine the report even didn't prompt for DB credentials. Why it prompts when moved to prod'n Box? How to avoid that?
Problem-2: How about the images on parameters screen?

May 19, 2010I have created my first MVC application. I am using forms authenticataion. I have created a custom action filter MyAppAuthorizationFilter which inherits from AuthorizeFilter. Inside this filter I'm authenticating the user credentials by checking them against a database table (by overriding OnAuthorize method). If the user is not authenticated, I am redirecting the users to a login page (which is view of LoginController). I am using this filter agaginst my main controller so that all actions in this filter will execute only if the user is authenticated.
I do not have any problem when I use the asp.net development server (shipped with Visual Studio). But when I deploy the app to our IIS7 server, I can see the login screen when I access the default url, but after entering the credentials (both correct and incorrect) and posting back the Login page, it stays on the Login page (clears the pwd, but not the username). Its never getting redirected to the home screen or invalid login screen.
IIS 7 server has .net framework 3.5SP1, but no MVC. So I deployed the System.Web.Mvc dll in the bin folder.

When I navigate to the ASMX file in my browser, I can fill in the form with the parameters and post to the DB. If someone finds the URL to my WS, they can severely alter my database. I want to prevent people from being able to post to my WS publicly. So far, I've thought of two things that may but I'd like to know if there are any other ways:
Check to see if the HTTP Referrer to the WS method is the domain the WS is on Add an additional parameter called Key to all important WS methods and have this be an encrypted "password." Then encrypt my stored password on the WS side and compare if the keys match.

Mar 31, 2010I've been trying to get image caching working for the last 8 hours and I keep the same problem time and time again, I'm trying to cache Images at the moment and then when thats succesful, apply this to cache my js and css files. I have at the moment Sql Dependancy caching working on my dynamic pages but the page still takes to long due to images not caching.
What I have tried is going to IIS7 Management and adding HTTP Response Header for the images folder and setting various things for the cache control.i dont care how long it caches it on the client or on the proxy servers i just would like it to check when the file was modified and compare it with the one in the client or proxy cache and if they are different then fetch the new image which has been ftp up. i could solve this by changing the image name but the thing is the image name is generated when they are ftp'd to the site by an application and the name is a direct reference to the product so i cant change the name each time, as it would mean making a lot of otherpages accross the board.
so What i would like, is to set and expiry date of lets say 32 days or more on the images and then check to see if they have changed by date modified or some other way of checking(Etags maybe) I'm not sure, if they have changed on the server then redownload and recache them, I tried using post-check and pre-check together but that just permantly cached them, so when i change the image the only way it would display the new image is to just hit F5.
In Brief, how can i Cache images, on the client machine/ proxy cache and recache them when the modified date of the file has changed.
