My client has an asp.net website that opens a php web page inside an iframe. When the user accesses that page there is a "login" from the php site that shows up. The user logs in and can view that page from the PhP site.
All I need to do is set a session on the asp.net website that lets me determine if the user has logged in. Any way to tell me .net site that the user successfully logged in via the iframe page?
i have two web aplications running on different sites.
1. site gets user information and show another website (2. site) in an i frame. but when i do this 2. site session starts again on every page.postback . if i connect to 2. site without 1. site everything works well.
I have the web page which will open the iframe window and then redirect to another iframe window.Then the layout happen. Some portions of the top including header can be seen in first iframe but not in second iframe.How can I set the layout seen to be the same as first iframe?
I have session variable that is created in EditPlaylist.aspx. Edit.aspx is loading EditPlaylist.aspx in an iframe. when loading sessions from EditPlaylist.aspx page they are null. the session was not before I added the EditPlaylist.aspx to an iFrame. Is there a workaround for this?
I have a "one page application" (ASP.NET 3.5, VS 2008, IE7) that uses Default.aspx as it's page, and holds an iFrame within "floating panel" (asp:Panel with extenders).
As the desired behavior is to allow users to reopen the application by refreshing the page,
I added this to the Default.aspx.cs: protected override void OnPreInit(EventArgs e) { if (!IsCallback && !IsPostBack) { Session.RemoveAll(); GeoApplication.DAL pDAL = new GeoApplication.DAL(); Session["DALinstance"] = pDAL; } }
However, when the iFrame page lifecycle starts, the Session["DALinstance"] parameter is null. I've tried to put some additional parameters and those were null as well.
There is one master page in my application. Left side it display menu and right side there is a Iframe where page will be displayed when user click on menu. so entire page will not be refreshed only Iframe will be refreshed.
Everything is working fine for me but I am facing problem when session expire, my loginUrl page display inside Iframe so user is able to see left menu.
I am thinkin that LoginPage should be display in main screen instead of Iframe.
I would like to run a SQL query on the codebehind VB page that will also set a value from that query to a Session variable. Also, this needs to be done on the Page_Load. Example: [Code]....
I have a site that when a user logs in it sets their initials into a session variable and sets the timeout value like so:
[Code]....
I want the user to be logged in for 3 hours. This does not work, the session expires after a short period of time, maybe 20 minutes. What do I need to change to make this page level validation work?I have tried setting in web.config also, but this doesn't work either.
I want a specific session variable (in my case Session["level"]) to expire either on the normal 20 min. timer or at 19:30 every day. Because I change a value in my database everyday at 19:30 and I want this session variable to be related to that value. Is this possible?
Some while ago I found a web page explaining the default size of a session was 2048 kb, the minimum was 1 kb.How can this be adjusted? And if some one has links regarding the subject I would be a happy camper :)
first off I can't post the code, so I will do my best to try to explain what I am trying to do. I have a repeater with three literals (a member ID, a name, a uservalue) and three hyperlinks. Each of the hyperlinks goes to a different page (obviously).What I am trying to do is when the user clicks on one of the hyperlinks, (doesn't matter which one because the three literals need to be put into session variables regardless) I want the session variables set to the literal values before calling the next page.How do I get the session variables set when the user clicks on one of the hyperlinks?
I'm building a site (it's amazing how much you can do and still not know what you're doing).I have my visitor login from a login.aspx page and, when authenticated are redirected to a Portal page. On that Portal page at pageload I set a Session variable "UserName" using the User.Identity.Name like this:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load If User.Identity.Name <> "" And User.Identity.IsAuthenticated = True Then If Page.IsPostBack = False Then Session("UserName") = User.Identity.Name End If [code]...
Anything I have tried didn't work. Currenly I have following code to change asp.net session cookie expiration date and path, but asp doesn't want to listen to me. I sends same cookie in Set-Cookie header two times sometimes, sometimes it sends it's default cookie ignoring path and expiration date, sometimes it sends everything as expected, and sometimes it doesn't send Set-Cookie at all. What should I do.
My code in Global.asax
protected void Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute(Object sender, EventArgs e) { /// only apply session cookie persistence to requests requiring session information if (Context.Handler is IRequiresSessionState || Context.Handler is IReadOnlySessionState) { var sessionState = ConfigurationManager.GetSection("system.web/sessionState") as SessionStateSection; var cookieName = sessionState != null && !string.IsNullOrEmpty(sessionState.CookieName) ? sessionState.CookieName : "ASP.NET_SessionId"; var timeout = sessionState != null ? sessionState.Timeout : TimeSpan.FromMinutes(20); /// Ensure ASP.NET Session Cookies are accessible throughout the subdomains. if (Request.Cookies[cookieName] != null && Session != null && Session.SessionID != null) { Response.Cookies[cookieName].Value = Session.SessionID; Response.Cookies[cookieName].Path = Request.ApplicationPath; Response.Cookies[cookieName].Expires = DateTime.Now.Add(timeout); } } }
I have a web application running on IIS 7 on a Windows 7 machine. The app pool is configured for .Net 4, 32 bit enabled, Integrated Pipeline.
Everything seems to be fine with the app until I first create a session variable in one of my asmx pages.
Once I've created the session variable the handling of subsequent http requests sometimes takes upwards of 30 after the browser has posted to my asmx page before the function is actually invoked. I've been looking all over my configuration settings and searching the web and still have no idea what could be going wrong here.
The method that sets the session variable looks something like this:
I'm getting a very peculiar problem with my asp.net application, it took me an age to track down but I still don't know what is causing this behaviour.
If I set a session variable in the Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute event, then my external JavaScript files are ignored, and therfore causing a raft of errors. I have simplified the problem below.
E.g.
I have file called JScript.js containing the code:
function myAlert() { alert("Hi World"); }
And in my Default.aspx file I reference the js with the code:
And in the body onload event I call the myAlert() function:
<body onload="myAlert()">
And finally in the Global.asax file:
Private Sub Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) HttpContext.Current.Session("myVar") = "MyValue" End Sub
If you run the Default.aspx file you will see the js function isnt called, however, if you comment out the line of code Global.asax then the external js is called and the function executed when the page loads.
I have developed a project including many pages. But the initial page is HTML , not an aspx page. I want to set the session("language") at this page first. (user can change the language later in the forms)
I'm implementing the session sharing structure from this link for an ASP classic site to begin the gradual conversion process to ASP.NET. I'm trying to extend the cookie expiration time so that users do not get signed out of the site when the session expires. At the place where the cookie is created in SessionPage.cs I've added the line in the CreateNewSessionCookie() method: cookie.Expires = DateTime.Now.AddDays(14);
Now this works fine, however, it only works if the user first visits an ASP.NET page, and then visits the ASP classic pages. It doesn't work if visiting an ASP classic page first (looking at the cookie through firefox confirms that different expiration values are given based on if I visit an ASP or ASP.NET page first.) I'm still a bit fuzzy on the mechanics behind this implementation as I don't have a complete understanding of session and cookie handling. However, I would have thought that the VB6 SessionMgr object is calling the SessionUtility DLL, and thus is using the same code to issue the cookie. I have re-registered the SessionUtility using gacutil, and re-exposed it using regasm. How else is the cookie being issued when a user accesses an ASP classic page? How can I change the expiration time?
i am working on an application ,i have hosted on server. everything going fine  . i have added a code to set session timeout in webconfig . but its expire default time .
in my application iam using an iframe, all pages are loaded on that iframe according to menu selection.My problem is that while timeout the login page is loaded inside the iframe.under the menu sectionHow can i overcome this?
I have created a web application that docks other web applications into it.When an application is docked the app creates a link button in its "tool box" on the left hand side of the page, users can easily click on any link button to navigate to the desired docked app.
I have a web app that uses iframes to display other web applications inside it. In effect it is a docking application where users can easily access many web applications from within one main app, while staying within the main app. I am having challenges dynamically resizing the iframe based on the size of the application the user is accessing.I have searched the web and tried many ideas but have yet to discover the code that will do the trick.
First, for a docking web application is the iframe the best approach? I have see some posts on ajax but am uncertain how that will help.
Second, if an iframe is the way to do it does anyone have code that will completely liminate the need for iframe scroll bars?
Note:The applications docked in the main we app may be of any size and can change size as users interact with them.
Our website application needs to open other web sites Iframe.(Our application is web based tool to help high school children to analyze the websites. It has to show news websites to in one iframe and in rest of the page there will be questions related to the news website)
But since many websites use framekiller code, these sites take control of entire page. Is there any ternative way / solution to this problem?It is necessary to be able to open other sites in our website (in iframe or any alternate way), otherwise whole concept of our application will become void.
