Use System.Type.InvokeMember() / Invoke Method Dynamically Using Reflection?
Feb 24, 2011
I understood that we can use System.Type.InvokeMember() to invoke method dynamically using Reflection, but I couldn't get proper example to show how to work on it. Can anyone please explain how to do it in
Visual Studio 2010
Just for practice purpose I have created one class called MathFunctions like below:
namespaceCSHWEB
{
public
class
MathFunctions
{
public
double
SimpleInterest(double
PrinicipalAmount, double
TimePeriod, double RateOfInterest)
{
return
(PrinicipalAmount * TimePeriod * RateOfInterest) / 100.0;
}
}
}
Now,
how can I invoke above method SimpleInterest with its parameters without instantiating the class?
I'm trying to follow the demo from this link to add a jqGrid to an MVC app.
I have a table named Companies that I'm trying to display in a grid. A Company simply contains an ID and a Name.
I'm running into an error in my controller function:
public JsonResult DynamicGridData(string sortIndex, string sortOrder, int page, int rows) { int pageIndex = Convert.ToInt32(page) - 1; int pageSize = rows; var companies = companiesRepository.Companies.OrderBy(sortIndex + " " + sortOrder).Skip(pageIndex * pageSize).Take(pageSize); //Error here ... }
I'm getting an error on the line that is calling OrderBy():
The type arguments for method 'System.Linq.Enumerable.OrderBy(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable, System.Func)' cannot be inferred from the usage. Try specifying the type arguments explicitly.
I really have no idea what the error means, and I haven't been able to find an explanation. I'm not sure what is causing this error on a simple OrderBy function.
I want to do paging the API Membership without using the datacontrols, but I get this error "Unable to cast object of type '<TakeIterator>d__3a`1[System.Char]' to type 'System.Collections.IList'." when I do this,
Basically, what I did is that: I have a table in SQL database and some of data fields allow null. I built Objectdatasource through dataset. When I built update page using dataset. It generate the following error before showing the update page correctly. It seems I have issue to retrieve the null value from the database through using objectdatasource through dataset. Any suggestions?An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code
I am trying to write a table output from SQL database to a gridview/ Data List through an Object Data Source. I am a new starter and your help will be useful.
public List<Staff> GetStaff() cmd.CommandType = SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(connectionstring);SqlCommand cmd = new [code]...
I am trying to upload a picture into database using FormView insertItemTemplate. FormView is bounded by objectdatasource.To upload, I placed FileUpload control inside insertItemTemplate.In table the dataType is image.Error:Object of type 'System.Boolean' cannot be converted to type 'System.Byte[]'.
I have a function that at the moment takes a Type variable. This function sticks it in a list and such and eventually needs will create a class of that type. Right now I do that with
which is pretty hacky and also will not work in medium trust due to reflection(I think). Is there a better way of doing this without reflection? The Type is defined this way as part of a function. I need the class to be created "lazily" because it may not be created in the application if it's not needed. I use it for example like
AddToList(typeof(Whatever));
Note, I'm open to suggestions on changing the function calling. I just need the object to be created lazily and for to store the type(or however to create an object of the type) in a list.
I am writing unit tests for fluent Nhibernate, when I run the test in isloation it passes, but when I run multiple tests. or run the test more than once it starts failing with the message below System.ApplicationException : For property 'Id' expected '1' of type 'System.Int32' but got '2' of type 'System.Int32'
Above is my code. The error I'm get is, Unable to cast object of type 'System.DateTime' to type 'System.String'.
The column "To" and column "Subject" are strings and column "Receive" is DateTime. I can't made any changes in the database, so I need to write some code to handle casting a string to datetime or if statement as a work around.
Protected Sub FormView1_ItemCreated(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewCommandEventArgs) Handles FormView1.ItemCreated Causes Unable to cast object of type 'System.EventArgs' to type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewCommandEventArgs'.
The program (asp.net/vb) works fine with FormView1_ItemCommand and FormView1_ItemInserted events but strangely objects to FormView1_ItemCreated. Is it only a VC# event?
I am trying to set property value using reflection as below. I wanted to know if there is any generic way of finding the property type instead of doing it int he below way.
[Code].... System.InvalidCastException was unhandled by user code Message=Unable to cast object of type 'System.Guid' to type 'System.String'. Source=System.Data.Linq System.Data.Linq.SqlClient.SqlProvider.System.Data.Linq.Provider.IProvider.Execut
I'm currently working on a web site which involves a data upload process. The file is currently uploaded to the server method is called (in app_code) where ultimately a DTS package is called (via a web method) to load the data into a database and perform some validation on it.The client has specified that they don't want to have to wait for the DTS package to execute (execution time is less than 5 minutes) so it appears that I need to call the method asynchronously. The user will probably logout or close the browser window while this task is running so I believe I'm unable to run this on an asp.net thread.
I am implementing web service into my web application, i added web reference to my application of required web methods from my asmx file.
i am able to create object of this weservice and able to see all the web methods available from the reference object. In debug mode(working environment), i could invoke and get result from the webmethod and working fine as expect. i created test page for testing this.
But, when i deploy same in my beta i am getting below error.(my both test page and asmx file available in my beta server where i deployed)

I deployed my webservice in IIS server. I have created another .net application, and called the webservice method from the new application. My problem is I am unable to redirect to the specified link[google.co.in]. I am getting the following error: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.Web.HttpException: Response is not available in this context. at System.Web.UI.Page.get_Response() Sometimes I get the error as: "Object moved here". "here" is shown as a hyperliink, If I click here, i am redirected to the specified link.
I have a web site that is using windows authentication. 'Enable anonymous access' is unchecked. It works when I call it through Visual Studio but when I put the site on the server I get the following error:
Unable to cast object of type 'System.Security.Principal.GenericPrincipal' to type 'System.Web.Security.RolePrincipal'.
