Is it possible to use InvokeMember() of Type class to call a property of a property of a class?
[Code]....
I understood that we can use System.Type.InvokeMember() to invoke method dynamically using Reflection, but I couldn't get proper example to show how to work on it. Can anyone please explain how to do it in
Visual Studio 2010
Just for practice purpose I have created one class called MathFunctions like below:
namespaceCSHWEB
{
public
class
MathFunctions
{
public
double
SimpleInterest(double
PrinicipalAmount, double
TimePeriod, double RateOfInterest)
{
return
(PrinicipalAmount * TimePeriod * RateOfInterest) / 100.0;
}
}
}
Now,
how can I invoke above method SimpleInterest with its parameters without instantiating the class?
ASP.net can't update page from event handler
and it's been answered! My only problem is I don't really understand the solution. How does one Invoke the control when setting the property.
I have a label control but there doesn't seem to be an Invoke property/method on it.
I tried this...
PropertyDescriptorCollection properties = TypeDescriptor.GetProperties(Label1);
PropertyDescriptor myProperty = properties.Find("Text", false);
myProperty.SetValue(Label1, "my value");
but that seemed to be the same as
label1.text = "my value"
which didn't work
I need to read the property and the datatype from the classs file that i has been uploaded.
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to display the data type of an entities properties in the Designer? For instance I have a dateofbirth property for my Person Entity. In the designer I want it to show "dateofbith datetime"
View 1 RepliesI use LinqToSql in my project. I have a class called MessageBLL and this class has a method called GetAll which returns List<object>. I returned object because I get data from two tables. Here is my code;

I want to use this in my Default.aspx.cs as like this but intellisense is not show CategoryName :[Code]....suggest me return as IQueryable but I couldn't do it in that way.
how to getValue of property class with this method?
public static int SQLInsert<TEntity>(TEntity obj) where TEntity : class
{
foreach (var item in obj.GetType().GetProperties())
{
//item.GetValue(?,null);
}
return 1;
}
So what I'm trying to accomplish is this
[Code]....
The user control has public properties named accordingly and the page has protected properties accordingly which I've verified have the desired values.
For some reason the values are always empty strings or 0s in the usercontrol, no matter what the page property is.
Can anyone add a complete input about how to create Parent Property with multiple child properties or in short nested properties.
Example: Style tag: which has properties like font, color, display... etc? which accept objects and its value.
[code]....
As soon as Rainbow property is typed, user should get intellisense for list of number of colors. Then accordingly user can select list of those colors and assign a value to them.
Is there any difference between accessing a property that has a backing field
private int _id;
public int Id
{
get { return _id; }
set { _id = value; }
}
versus an auto-property?
public int Id { get; set; }
The reason I'm asking is that when letting ReSharper convert a property into an auto property it seems to scan my entire solution, or at least all aspx-files.
I can't see any reason why there should be any difference between the two from outside the class. Is there?
In the Web.Config we have a timeout property. Ex:
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms loginUrl="~/Login.aspx" timeout="2880"/>
</authentication>
When loggin in, we can specify a ticket expiry date. Ex:
FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(
1, id.ToString(), DateTime.Now, expiryDate, true,
securityToken, FormsAuthentication.FormsCookiePath);
Why there's two places where I can set expiration info about forms-authentication? What's the difference between them? What has more relevance?

How can i get full name of the property ?
I have a class, let's say class Sample. Sample has unknown properties but inherits an interface ISample. Said interface includes one method which I'm trying to create. This interface has a method called getPropertyValue(object o, string PropertyName).
It returns the value of the o.PropertyName using generics (unless you have a better suggestion). How do I write it? In other words, I want to be able to pass the name (as a string) of a property and return its value. Samples in C# preferrable but VB ok and any comments or suggestions are welcome.
I need to set a style property of an element to the value returned from a code-behind property. I have done this in the past, but it now seems everything I try fails. I get an error telling me that the literal is not formed correctly.These are some of the arrangements I have tried:

View 5 RepliesI am trying to set property value using reflection as below. I wanted to know if there is any generic way of finding the property type instead of doing it int he below way.
string currentlblTxt;
string currentTxt;
Assembly assembly = Assembly.GetAssembly(typeof(myAdapter));
myAdapter currentEventObject = (myAdapter)assembly.CreateInstance(myClassName);

I have a page with a textbox. User enter the WCF Service URI and my program get the method names and the parameters. Then user enter the values and I want to dynamically call the method with passed parameter values.
how can I dynamically set the value of a property for a given object? For example: I have a method GetInfo(string name, Color favcolor) where name is string and favcolor is of System.Drawing.color type. How can I set the color attribute dynamically with user supplied value.
[Code]....
The last line is currently throwing an error
Object of type 'System.Drawing.Color' cannot be converted to type 'System.Drawing.Color'.
I have a Interface for CRUD operations.and some classes implemented it.I want to design a user control that have two buttons:insert and delete,to reuse this control over my forms.this class must have a instance of my interface to do insert and delete tasks (if I'm right).this is my interface:

I have a class called Questions. This Questions has properties QuestionID and QuestionAnswer. My list of Questions has QuestionID like 2,3,4,15,12,24,22,,,, etc I need to sort this List of Questions Object based on QuestionID and store in another Questions object.

If i want to use Property & Method in same class then how to use it. I want to keep separate class only for interface , not for property.

I have question about HttpContext class (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.httpcontext.aspx). This class has Responseproperty (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.httpcontext.response.aspx). But I don't understand, why Response property hasHttpResponse return value, not HttpContext (this is HttpContext, not HttpResponse property).So, why there is:

I've seen various controls in ASP.NET with "collections" of objects, which you can use markup to define. For example:
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server">
<Triggers>
<asp
/Triggers>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
In the above example, you can add any number of triggers, and they can be of any type that extends UpdatePanelTrigger. I'd like to do something similar, but with only a single item instead of a collection
What am I doing wrong here?
Me("Label" & CStr(i)).Text = strURI.Substring(strURI.ToString().LastIndexOf("/") + 1) & ": " & intCount.ToString()
[Code]....
I get an error on Me; it indicates that it cannot be indexed because it has no default property
I have a vb class that reads a single row of data from an SQL view. I want to add a property to it that will expose the value of a new bit field. But whatever I do my class always returns the value "false".What am I doing wrong?
Public ReadOnly Property IsPublished() As Boolean
Get
Return valPublished
End Get
End Property
Here's the relevant line from my datareader: Me.valPublished = Convert.ToBoolean(theObjectReader("Authorised"))Authorised is my bit field. I have tried it with and without the "ConvertToBoolean" statement.When I response write the value of the property for rows where this field is true, it always shows false.
