Cross Page Posting With ASP Value Not Available On Target Page
May 20, 2010I am trying to pass a value between two pages. However on my target page, the value is not found. My source page includes the following code.

On my target aspx page I have included the following directive:
<%@ PreviousPageType VirtualPath="~/tools/SearchResults.aspx"%>
In the target page code behind I have included the following in the page load:
Me.Master.Page.PreviousPage.SQLString
However, Visual studio complains that, SQLString is not a member of System.Web.Ui.page. I must note I am useing master pages, and vaguely recall this causing an issue when accomplishing this in the past.

Jan 11, 2011I am using Visual Studio 2008 Express and created a login page using the ASP.net web site Adminstration tool security to generate users and passwords.
After login, a new page appears. I have a button to go back to the login page to allow a user to relogin. When I try loging in again as a different user or the same, I get an error saying the resource that I am looing for was not available.
I have a button on the page after login (one this one page will occur) and I am using on on click event to do the following:
FormsAuthentication.Initialize()
FormsAuthentication.SignOut()
Response.Redirect("~/Login.Aspx")
After clicking on this button, the Login page appears again. How can I release everyting to allow it to work like when I first open the application.

Mar 24, 2010I got a role call "Staff", staff registration is done by admin so when creating a new staff only need their name, user name, password and e-mail. After registering, i wan to redirect the staff to the creating profile page to input their contact number and self-description which is a must for later use. For first time login staff, how do i compare and see if the contact and description profile is empty or not? If it is empty, then redirect to the create profile page, else just go to staff page.
I trying to do like making each different role redirect to their own page once they had login. For now when the user login they will remain in the same page showing the login template. How do i do that?

To Send A User Back A Page After Login?
Feb 9, 2010Some actions such as posting a comment require login. It may timeout and the user may be redirected to a login page. With get data i can easily put the query in something like action=PrevPageUrlAndQuery. However with POST data i have to do something more complicated.
So is there a way i can make the page go backwards so all the user needs to do is click that post button again? Instead of displaying a page saying please hit back and resubmit your comment (more clicks + reading makes me slightly sad)

Oct 20, 2010In login.aspx I have used login control to enter user name and password, the problem is: even my caps lock is off when I enter user name it prints in capital letters but size is small size (when I copy and paste in note pad or msword it paste in small letters not in capital letters), when I turn on my caps lock on and type - it prints in bigger size as if I am typing in capital letters. ex: 1. temp is my user name if my caps lock is off it shows like this TEMP (but size in smaller than 2nd one) 2. if my caps lock is on is shows like this as if I am typing capital letters TEMPwhat do you think the problem is how can I fix it?
