User Controls :: Unable To Get User Input In Required Format In Console Application

Apr 27, 2016

Create a class Employee which will implement the below interface: IEmployee. The application should accept the function to invoke and its parameters from the console in the Format:

[MethodName]:[Parameter1]:[Parameter2]
Ex: SetProperty:Age:44

The implemetation shold have the necessary checks on whether the input is in correct format by handling like FormatException.And the program should be able to continuously accept the input and print corresponding output until the input given as "Exit".

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Text;
using System.Threading.Tasks;

namespace ConsoleApplication1

[CODE]..

Issue: I am unable take the user input in the corresponding format.in the above code everytime I have to give the user input in the format "Set:Age:33" but this is not I m looking for .Actually firstly the expected input and output should be given in the format as per the screenshot I have attached.

C# - Starting A Console Application From .net Using Authenticated User Credentials?

Mar 9, 2011

I have the following asynchronous controller actions which allows me to start a console application on a remote server. My issue is with regards to the permissions and authentication. I have tried the following, which in my understanding allows the app.Start(valuationDate) to run as the impersonated user. The reason for this is that the console application needs to access network resources and the user of this web app will have the required access rights. (As a side note, the console app runs as a scheduled task without error)

The issue I suspect is that the console app is still run under the IIS app pool identity which causes network resource "Access Denied" errors. The console application itself starts, but the restricted access of the IIS user account causes the failure.

I have tried changing the AppPool identity to run as an authorised user and the process executes correctly. I am hoping for a solution that does not require me to change the AppPool identity on the server.How can I do to start the console application using the authenticated users details?

Controller Actions:

[HttpPost]
public void RunAsync(DateTime valuationDate)
{
AsyncManager.OutstandingOperations.Increment();[code].....

VB.NET Web Application Input Box / Input Box That Comes Up When A User Clicks 'Find' Button?

Aug 4, 2010

I would like to program an Input Box that comes up when a user clicks 'Find' button. It asks 'Please enter an employee number'. Then it takes the employee number typed into a text box and searches a dataset for that specific employee record.

I know that it should be server side because the client may not have the proper javascript installed or diabled. Therefore, can someone give me some code to put in code behind that can pop up an input box and use the input after, if this can be done?

Custom Server Controls :: Save User's Input In User Control?

Mar 28, 2011

I have a user control (ascx file) that contains an interface for users to change the data retrieved from the db. So, I am displaying data and most of this data can be edited by the user. When the user enters text into a textbox, and clicks "Save Changes", the value they typed in is lost and not persisted to the database. I realize now this is because the SaveChanges button does a postback, and the user control gets reloaded with its original valuesbefore the code within my SaveChanges button gets executed. I'm not sure if there are properties I need to set to save the input data, or if I need to write my own code to do it. What is the generally accepted method to do this? (Also, all of the controls in the ascx file are wrapped in an Update Panel.)

Custom Server Controls :: Unable To Use A Web User Control Inside Another Web User Control

Mar 10, 2011

I have a web user control that represents a simple message box. It is used to display simple messages like "Item has been deleted", or "The item was saved successfully".

On the other hand, I have another web user control that represents the item in the form of an editable form (I made this a user control because this is used in two different pages). I want to embed an instance of the message box user control inside the editable form. I am writing this right after the @Control directive:

[Code]....

Instead of using @Register directives, I register the user controls in web.config and so far this has worked just fine.

With the above markup, the project compiles, but whenever I try to navigate to a page that contains this construct, I get an HttpParseException exception. Furthermore, Visual Studio states that the tack w7rc9:MessageBox doesn't represent a known control.

What am I doing wrong?

Configuration :: Website Db Selects Runs Extremly Slow On Windows 2003 (IIS6) When No Console User Is Logged In?

May 23, 2010

I have a really weird problem that I've been investigating for at least one week now. I deliver a website hosting both ASP classic and .NET 3.5 content in IIS6 on a Windows 2003 server environment with MySQL db backend. The solution has been installed on several servers (some hosted in WMWare) with no problems. On one specific server, also hosted in WMWare, the user experience great performance issues on the website. The problems are most seen when using database resources and is not limited to either .net or asp classic, but I am still not sure that the problem is only related to database calls.

Following components are involved:

IIS6 .NET FW 3.5 MyODBC 3.51 / 5.1 MySQL 4.x

Code executed on the server using all resources above runs smoothly when the IIS is not involved. The website shows times up to 2 minutes to execute code that takes 2 seconds outside the IIS. The exact same code is executed. Using profiling tools, I've seen that the great loss comes within calls to unmanaged code, for example when System.Data.ODBC namespace to calls into myodbc.dll.

The tricky part is: If at least one console user is logged in to the server, the performace problems are not seen anymore. When the user logs out, the problem appears again.I have tried to reinstall all components above, tried different versions of MyODBC, tried different website authentication methods, tried to run website under administrator privilegies, installed various MS KB's with no success.

Custom Server Controls :: Create A User Control Which Takes XML As Input?

Mar 6, 2010

I'd like to create a user control which takes XML as input, applies an XSL transform on it, and displays the results of the transform in the web form or windows form in place of the user control. The transform should happen automagically when the windows form or web form is first loaded. I'd think this would be pretty easy to do. I just don't know how. point to a guide/tutorial on how to do this?

DataSource Controls :: Search Various Database Columns Based On User's Input?

Nov 18, 2010

I have five textboxes(tb1, tb2, ... tb5) on the page, each textbox represent a column in the database table.

I need to search the database table based on the text in the textboxes. User can either enter text in all five textboxes or none.

What's the best way to do a search?

I am thinking for one textbox(tb1), depends on if tb1.text is empty or not, I need to do 2 searches

[Code]....

for two textboxes(tb1 & tb2), depends on if tb1.text and/or tb2.text are empty or not, there are 4 combinations, so I need to do 4 searches

[Code]....

for three textboxes, there are 8 combinations,

Does that mean for five textboxes, I need to do 2 to the power of 5, 32 combinations, 32 if statements?
