DataSource Controls :: Set Up A Dynamic Flat File Connection?

Apr 14, 2010

I am working on an SSIS package that needs to read a flat file and load the data into a SQL table. The problem is, the flat file name changes because it incorporates a date similar to this:

fileName_2010-04-12.txt

I found this site that shows how to set up a dynamic flat file connection:

[URL]

I understand the principle, but what I'm struggling with is using it in my data flow task. I need to configure the column mappings. In the PROPERTIES of the flat file connection, under expressions, I set up a ConnectionString with the following:

@[User::DataLoadDir] + @[User::priceFileName]

where [User::DataLoadDir] is the path where the file resides and [User::priceFileName] is a variable that should have the name of the specific file I want to read.

However, when I try to set the column mappings in the flat file connection, it's pulling the column headings for a different file in the same directory.

User Controls :: Unable To Get User Input In Required Format In Console Application

Apr 27, 2016

Create a class Employee which will implement the below interface: IEmployee. The application should accept the function to invoke and its parameters from the console in the Format:

[MethodName]:[Parameter1]:[Parameter2]
Ex: SetProperty:Age:44

The implemetation shold have the necessary checks on whether the input is in correct format by handling like FormatException.And the program should be able to continuously accept the input and print corresponding output until the input given as "Exit".

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Text;
using System.Threading.Tasks;

namespace ConsoleApplication1

[CODE]..

Issue: I am unable take the user input in the corresponding format.in the above code everytime I have to give the user input in the format "Set:Age:33" but this is not I m looking for .Actually firstly the expected input and output should be given in the format as per the screenshot I have attached.

DataSource Controls :: Convert DateTime Syntax To 24 Hour Format

Jan 28, 2010

I keep getting errors when I try to convert. I have a date row that when my page loads it displays as

1/28/2010 12:00:00 AM.

I have my default value set to '00:00:00" for it. I'm trying to convert it to 24 hour format so that it will read out as 00:00:00 initially. SQL Statement(The one that is working)

SELECT user_id, bpi_title, HoR, Date, Duration FROM tblViewLog2
JOIN tblBPIModules on tblViewLog2.module_id = tblBPIModules.id

I assume that I need to modify my SQL statement, but I'm having a hard time with the exact syntax. I'm trying to figure out exactly what I need to do with the information below in order to get what I want.

14 or 114
24 hour time with milliseconds.
HH:mm:ss:fff
21:00:00:000

DataSource Controls :: Search Various Database Columns Based On User's Input?

Nov 18, 2010

I have five textboxes(tb1, tb2, ... tb5) on the page, each textbox represent a column in the database table.

I need to search the database table based on the text in the textboxes. User can either enter text in all five textboxes or none.

What's the best way to do a search?

I am thinking for one textbox(tb1), depends on if tb1.text is empty or not, I need to do 2 searches

[Code]....

for two textboxes(tb1 & tb2), depends on if tb1.text and/or tb2.text are empty or not, there are 4 combinations, so I need to do 4 searches

[Code]....

for three textboxes, there are 8 combinations,

Does that mean for five textboxes, I need to do 2 to the power of 5, 32 combinations, 32 if statements?

C# - What's More Efficient SQL Or Flat File Access

Jul 22, 2010

I am looking at upgrading a realtime program ASP.NET C#, that takes very frequently updated data and moves it from one database to another.

Currently using a middle man app, that pulls from one and inserts into another using SqlBulkCopy.

Is it better to have the source db server write a flat file and the middle man collect from that flat file?
