When I turn on Code Coverage in my test settings, on a project that references the Unity DI container I get the following error:
Cannot initialize the ASP.NET project'{Project Name}'.
The event log specifies the following reason:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=2.0.414.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. Strong name signature could not be verified.
I have downloaded a project from the internet called the SMS Source example. I wanted to open this project in VS2010, so a conversion wizard has popped up prompting for the conversion. But it has errors in converting.
I recently updated my VS2010 website project from .NET 3.5 to 4.0. Everything was working fine in the website project. Today I decided to migrate the website to a web application project as I have learned this is the best way to work in .NET. I split out all my class files into a separate class library and copied all my other content into my new project. Then I updated all the references and web.config.
When I build the class library, everything works great. The problem is happening when I try to build/debug the web application project. It is acting like all the controls are missing and it is also throwing a bunch of compile errors about the public properties I have in my master pages.
Control errors: "The name 'INSERT CONTROL NAME HERE' does not exist in the current context"
Master page errors:'System.Web.UI.MasterPage' does not contain a definition....
It is giving these errors for every single control and master page property in my entire solution.I notice when I add a new web.form to this project, it also adds a filename.aspx.designer.cs file in addition to the .aspx and .aspx.cs file. My existing files do not have these extra files since they were created in a different .NET version.
UPDATE: It seems I was missing the step where I need to right click on the new application folder and select "Convert to web application". I just did that and it seems to be a little bit better...
Now it is choking on Literals that are inside single quotes:
I have to write a mini social networking website, and I seem to have run into a little bump. I want to display a user picture but for some reason it isn't working. The control looks like this
I had a problem before with GridView displaying picture and it was solve as post [URL] shows. I am trying to apply the same coding to another GridView with a different configuration and I am having a hard time making the adaptation. May someone take a look at it. What I am trying to add to this GridView is code as:
i use visual studio 2010 i have stored image into sql server in binary format and how to retrive that image(which is in binary format) and display in image contro
I have three projects inside my solution and i using some same images on all of three projects. How can i create relative path from one project to another?
How do you specify the path to a folder in you project. I have a Documents folder in my project. How would I refer to the path ie "~Documents"; instead of on the C drive ie
StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter("C:\Test.txt");
i have a master page in a root and some pages in root and works perfectly, but now i need a different folder (secure) and in this folder i have an Admin page but doesnt show icons from master, only the placeholder. If i change the url from .css (url('images/page-bgglare.png') to (url('../images/page-bgglare.png') works the pages inside the folder but doesnt works the pages in root.
I am using dotlesscss for my css and I remember how to use that but what I am forgetting is how to get the root project path so that I can generate the full file path to my .less file to get for the less engine to parse. How do I get the project root path so that I can generate the path for my less files?
I do have the following code for for a GridViewd that display pictures that are stored in a file. I am using AutoNumber(GUID) from the database to name the pictures before I stored them to the file. I can save up to 4 pictures using the same AutoNumber but adding these ending to it, Pic1, Pic2, Pic3 ,,,,etc.
The problem that I am having is that after I get the AutoNumber from the database, I want to display a standard picture on the GridView field if there is not particular picture associiated to this record in file. The name of the standard picture is located in the same file under the name of NoPicture.gif. How can I do this? So far this is my GridView code and it is working fine:
My slideshow extender work perfectly fine, but I want to retrieve the current display picture's information on the server side.
So I added a normal asp button on the same page as the slideshow extender. When button clicked, it fire off a server side function. In the function I grabbed the SlideShow's name label, description label or the Image, but none of them contain any current information of the picture displayed at slideshow extender.
Is there another way to obtain the slideshow extender current state? Or am are those name, description label text value should be updated?
I have several ASP.NET web projects and their Output folder are set to "C:Builds[ProjectName]bin" (instead of the default "bin" folder). This makes "F5" Debugging not working because the ASP.NET Development Server expects the "bin" folder under the project folder.
I then changed to use Local IIS Web server (http://localhost/webproject1") and manually updated the vdir physical path to my custom output path. However the VS2010 will not load the csproj because it detects the url is already mapped to a different folder location.
I know I probably shouldn't change the Output folder. But wondering if there is an easy way to workaround this? The goal is to make "F5" debugging work with custom build Output folders.

I have an existing application that was written in .NET 3.5. The piece of code in question is using the FileUpload control and its SaveAs method. Its worked perfectly for the past six months, but I've recently upgraded the project to .NET 4.0 and I'm now receiving an "Access to path (...) is denied" every time the method is called. It works fine locally in dev mode but fails on my prod server. I've upgraded the website to run under .NET 4.0 and I've made sure the account (Network Service) it runs under in the app pool has full control. Other than upgrading to .NET 4.0, nothing has changed for the project.
Currently i'm saving pictures to our sql server db. A user can go to a clients info page and click an id card image to open a new tab or window and see the picture saved for that client.
What I would like to do is when a client info page opens a small version (thumnail) of the picture to display and let the user click the thumbnail to open a bigger icture in a popup window.
I have an imagebox that is on a masterpage. What I want to do is place a label on top of that imagebox. I have that part working, but when I resize my window, the label stays the same size and eventually covers the imagebox. How would I make the image box stay the in the same area of the imagebox no matter what size the window is? Here is a sample of the code I am using now.
I created a DataSet(right-click project-->add new item-->DataSet) and then a TableAdaptor to it with table from database. However, when i bring the project to others computer and run, it has error.I look into the DataSet in xml and found that the path to database is actually on the computer that created the DataSet(C:DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGSUSERDESKTOPPROJECT NAMEAPP_DATADATABASENAME.MDF) My database file is located at the App_data folder. May i know is there a way to config so that whenever i run the project on different computer, the path will auto change??
