VS 2012 / Create A Function For Web Method That Is In DLL?

I want to create a function that a web method will call - and that function will be in a DLL.
I am assuming that having that function in a DLL is better then leaving it as source since it won't recompile when IIS recycles or whatever schedule that falls under.
Do I need to make this function in a different project (solution) and compile it down to a DLL and then refer to that folder location in the WEB.CONFIG?
And I assume I just put it in the BIN folder in INETPUB - right? Do I need a WEB.CONFIG reference to it as well - in production?

I have a form and I want to insert the current time at which the user clicks to insert into the table of my db.
When running, I get the following error when trying to insert into my sqldatasource:
"System.FormatException: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime."
What's wrong with my insert parameter?:

I have a web service that takes an XML string for input and saves the XML to a file. The filename is created from the date and time and a random number generator. The program also edits the XML as it processes, and there can be errors. When there's an error, I create an email which describes the error and then repeats the XML in the body of the email. I am using another web service written in-house to send the email.
I want to include in the email a link to the filename I saved. What is the best way to do this? I think I need to use HTML, but there's an html flag I pass to the email web service which needs to be false. When it was true, the XML wasn't formatting.

I need to create something which is like an Add friend function in my website which works like this:
1) User types in name of the person he wants to search in the search field and clicks enter
2) on the same page, the search result will come out with an "add friend" button beside every name
3) when the user clicks the "add friend" button, he will be brought to another page (or pop up with a message box?) with a text message field to send to the friend, and a submit button to submit the friend request.
4) over at the Friend's page, he will be able to view the add friend request and decide whether to accept or deny the friend request.

I am working on my company intranet and trying to integrate it with our existing MS Access applications.
I need to provide the ability to have the client click on a link/button from an aspx page and have it call a function in the MS access application to look up the corresponding record.
I came accross the thread [URL] but that is not really what I want as the ADP application will already be running on the client I just need to pass it a value.
Alternitively if I could start a new instance of the ADP passing it a parameter on open to find the correct record that would be a compromise.

How do you reference an asp.net control on your page inside a function or a class.

In GridViewData.aspx.cs I have a method I want to call inside a javacsript function.

Now hears the kicker, I am mostly using jqUery as UpdateInsertData() is a jquery Call and works fine. How do I use ValidateNameUpdateable to call jQuery to return the value from the c# method. . I believe this issue is with my jQuery Call as its just posting and I need to do a $.get or something?

In the content page, I have an ajax accordion pane with couple of panes. Within each of those panes there is 1 user control. Initially all the panes except the first one (AccordionPaneMain) is enabled. The first pane user control contains a form view . In formview itemcommand I am doing some processing and then was trying to enable rest of the panes by calling the function showPanes in the main page by using invoker method. My problem is, the method (showPanes) is getting executed but the panes are not enabled.

I'm working on an MVC application and I ran into a little snag.
I've got a form with the usual textboxes and dropdowns. I decided to use jquery ajax (GET) to load the dropdowns on load (State Names & Salutations).
No matter what I try, for example:

It doesn't matter if I use a stringbuilder and a loop to create a <select> with <option>'s, the ID always ends up like above.
Do I have to create a javascript function to create it instead?
