I have found a settings that I like VibrantInk_V2. THere is only one section of colors I don't like. on the aspx page the section between the <script> the key words are dark blue and string is dark red. I have tried to find these in the options item list, but have not found anything that matches them.

Just upgraded from SSRS 2005 to 2008 (on a test server). I have a report with a list and in this list are about a dozen fields in textboxes whose fonts are all set to Verdana 8pt. When I run the report from the Report Manager, one of the 12 fields is displaying in a serif font (like Times New Roman) at around 12pt. When I preview the report in Visual Studio every field looks fine and when I run the same report in SSRS 2005 every field looks fine. Has to be a SSRS 2008 bug!
View 3 RepliesI run the preparaion pack then successfully run the installation of SP1 I do not see verification on the 'About VS 2008' page.
Consequently (I think) my attempts at installing SQL Server Management Express 2008 constantly fails due to the lack of SP1.
I need an advice on which edition of VS 2008 to order. We are a team of 3 developers, one of use has VS 2008 Team Suite edition, but he works on a different projects under different management, and the remaining 2 of us are working with VS 2003. So we want to upgrade to VS 2008.
Can we buy a one edition of Team suite and the another Professional edition for the other developer, or it has to be Team suite for all developers.
Do you think we are going to miss anything by buying Professional edition for both of us.I'm not really sure which way to go.

View 1 RepliesIm working on windows 7 operating system now and having a few issues with the sql server. I had visual studio 2005 and sql server express 2005 installed on my machine 1st. i then got visual studio 2008 and installed sql server express 2008. when i try and create a new database in the App_Data file (sql server database *.mdf file) i get the following error message;
"Connections to sql server files (*.mdf) require sql server express 2005 to function properly. Please verify the installation of the component or download from the url: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=49251"
I was just wondering what way i could create a *.mdf file looking into sql server express 2008. I also found out that sql server express 2008 management studio is not compatible with windows 7 yet..?
I am using VWD 2008 Express and the fonts are really small (actually smaller than that and unreadable) in the Design view. I cannot find any way to make them larger.
View 4 RepliesWe recently converted the VS.2005 application into VS2008 in XP machine and it was working fine like compiling with out any issues and working as expected. But recently team upgraded laptops to Win7 when trying to compile it we have got issues then we changed the compiler settings to 'x86' and compiled it went good. But after that login screen came when ran the applciation without environment selection (production, DEV, Testing etc). basically we are getting this environment setup from system registry, we uderstand that Win7 is looking in different location hence no environment information is coming up..later we see that where the code is looking for environment environment and created environment keys in registry, after that environment infromation displayed in login screen but not able to login into applciaiton throwing exceptions like " Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))"
View 6 RepliesI installed Microsoft Windows Sever Enterprise Edition (rus) SP1, downloaded (manually) and installed Windows Server 2003 SP2.Installed VSTS (Visual Studio Team System) 2008 (with MS SQL 2005 Express with it, MS Office 2003, MSSQL2008 Developer Preview), IE7.And my Windows Update does not detect/autoupdates any updates/service packs for VSTS2008 and MSSQLServers...like Windows XP, only updates for operating system Windows Server 2003, .NET, IE7, MS Office, etc.
Is it something wrong with my setup?Should Windows Server 2003 autoupdate detect and install VSTS2008 and MS SQL Servers updates, or should not?
I am trying to install vs 2008 on a 64 bit windows 7.
when it completes about 10% of the installation it gives me a list of error messages telling that setup has failed.I searched in microsoft communities and on the net,
I am using vs2008 sp1. I am building web site with aspx. I am also using an ajax control. My Site was working normally. I could run it from f5 and it would stop at a debug point. I added an additional aspx page. Then I got a strange error. When I pressed f5 a message box appeared saying that I had not made this version with the debug option. Then from reading an internect post I disabled only my code. That got rid of the message box error but now the debugger does not stop at any break point? Of course this happen when I need to go live with this project in a day.
View 1 RepliesI've got about 30 projects in VS 2008 and we are finally starting to upgrade to 2010. I get change requests pretty regularly so I'm likely to have to make changes to projects that are still in 2008 after VS 2010 is installed. Is it possible to intall VS 2010 without messing up the VS 2008 install? If so is there any particular trick to it so they live side by side or do they automatically do parallel install in different directories?
View 3 RepliesI have a problem with Visual Studio Debugging. I use some Skin for my Web Application, e when I debug it, the debug controls stops on the skin. I press F10 multiple times, but I've never reached the end of the skin file in this way. It's a problem for me, since some times I don't know where the control goes after the skin. And pressing F5, I lose the control on the debug flow. Does someone know how to avoid the Skin debug (o better, the debug of certain file extensions) in Visual Studio 2008?

My dev machine is win 7x64, running VS2008. I have a solution with number projects (mostly libraries), one was a webapplication. This webapplication used http://127.0.0.1/ to debug through. That site was configured to point to the home directory of that web application.
It was set up this way because i was URL Rewriting and that was the only way i could get it working
However now whenever i start up visual studio it complains that the local IIS has not been configured, would you like to create the virtual directory. If i say no then the project is not loaded, if i say yes then the process fails with could not find the server http://127.0.0.1 on the local machine. Creating a virtual directory is only supporting on the local IIS server.
I can edit the XML of the project file to turn off Use IIS in which case i can load the project but the site doesn't work through the integrated visual studio server.
I've tried removing the website in IIS7 and removing the AppPool and rebuilding but no go.
I've just upgrade my web application from vs2008 to vs2010, I create a new web app from vs2010, then copy across all the existing files from vs2008, then I add a new class file to App_Code folder, the intellisense is not showing up for everything and class etc is also not color in the right color. However, when I open the existing class I created earlier from vs2008, intellisense just working fine and all classes are in different color as well, if I make a copy of existing class, the copied class does not support the intellisense as well. However, if I shut my VS, and reopen it, they all appear to be support with intellisense for existing class, but once I created a new class, intellisense is not support.

Sometimes when dragging my finger across the laptop touch pad, the text in the IDE will be reduced to a really small font. This is so aggravating as I do not know why this happens or how to fix it. what is causing the problem and how to fix it?

View 2 RepliesI have been working on this project for a few months in VS2008.. now that we are getting closer to the end, one of the other programmers has been working and doing his in VS2010, so when i try to open his projects in VS2008 it just shows up as XML.. so i have to open in VS2010.. thats fine..
But if i try to open my project in 2010, it prompts to use the conversion wizard.. Should i be concerned or are there any issues with doing the conversion? Being the end of the project, i dont want to cause issues at this point.. So would like to know if converting the project file at this stage in our project a good idea? Will there be any issues using his code with mine since they were developed in 2 different versions..
