I am using VS2010 and I created a theme which worked fine when it was located in the App_Themes folder of a test site...I moved the theme into the ASP.NETClientFilesThemes folder and now PNG files return 403 (no subcode) errors, all other files load (css,jpg,etc). Also, I can deploy the theme onto a test IIS 7 server in the aspnet_client folder and I don't have this problem, it seems the issue is just local..

I'm getting message: Navigation cancelled.There seems to be a problem with the localhost. I'd checked the HOSTS file - it's configured correctly, I compared the settings with my other machine where I don't have this issue.
View 12 RepliesI am using Windows 7 + VS 2010 and I need to access (debug purpose) my web project in VS but through HTTP-access from outside my router's network. I have mapped localhost to e.g. port 80 and my local PC has IP 192.168.1.2. Now, how can I map the VS project to the local IP?
Also the file: C:WindowsSystem32driversetchosts says:

Tried to reasign localhost there but W7 refused to make changes even though I am admin.
I've written a small MVC application and am having trouble deploying it to localhost. I use the publish feature when I browse http://localhost this is what I get: HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this dir A sample aspx page is rendered correctly.
I've tried the aspnet_regiis -r I've made sure ASP.NET is installed in Windows Features. The web platform installer tells me MVC 2.0 is installed. I did install VS2010 first and then IIS so I suspect that maybe causing problems but in the past aspnet_regiis -r has fixed that.
Every time I click the start Debugging button on the toolbar, or select it from the menu, I get the message:
"Unable to start the program 'http://localhost:1098/NTTC'.

View 2 RepliesI just recently upgrade my asp.net web project from visual studio 2005 to visual studio 2010. The upgrade was successful with no problems however im missing some features with this project. The One Click Publish feature(which is greyed out) in the header area of Visual Studio 2010 and the Add Config Transforms feature which is no where to be seen when you right click on web.config. When i create a new web project straight from visual studio 2010, these options work fine.

It reset everyhing in my options of the web app/ etc, and now some AJAX conrols don't work such as dragpanel. In my investigating i have come across number of tools(shown below) to use with Visual Studio 2008 professional
Development tool:- Visual Studio 2008 professional using Subversion as source control tool. Continuous Integration:- Hudson or Cruise control Build tool:- NAnt Testing:- NUnit, Selinium As Visual Studio 2008 can be used for unit testing I think NUnit is out of consideration.
In the same way i would like to have any other tools/add-ons to Visual studio to implement continuous integration, building and unit testing. This process should be automated such a way source code between team members is continuously integrated, built and unit testing is done as configured.
Objective is to use few number of tools as add-on to Visual Studio or achieve most from Visual studio itself (example unit testing). Visual Studio should be all in one tool.
I am aware that Team Foundation Server best suits my requirement, but it is out of scope due to its cost.

It was working fine for months & i formatted my comp & when i tried to reinstall it is not getting installed !

View 1 RepliesI am having an issue in VS 2010 trying to get even the default ASP.NET Web Application to run in Debug mode. I get the error:
"Unable to start program 'http://localhost:1443/Default.aspx'.
The system cannot find the file specified."
I am stumped here and cannot find anything out there with this error.
I run the start debugging option...it runs successfully. but still is shows start debugging option is shown in the Visual studio 2005 IDE. And one more problem is ::I applied break points in one page and run the application. but those break points are not detected....
