Visual Studio :: .aspx Page When Browsed With Chrome Browser Works Fine But With IE8 It Displays "Internet Explore?
Sep 5, 2010
I have VS 2008 installed and have IE8 browser as well as google chrome browser. However wheneever i try to run a .aspx page in solution explorer of VS with the browse with.. options, the page runs fine with chrome browser but not with IE8.The IE browser shows the error "Ineternet explorer cannot display the page".I have set the IE as the default browser in the browse with ... option of the VS 2008.
I have a windows service that calls a class library. The call to the Class library from the windows form application works fine. But from the service I do get the desired output. The event viewer does not report any error. The service was working fine until the recently when the server got remastered. Any suggestions what might have gone wrong?
We have a html page being rendered in the browser (IE) that causes the browser to hang. The page is generated through server side script (ASP.NET and viewstate is disabled). The page while loading takes a long time (its not a bw issue since we can reproduce it on local machine) and sometimes results in script unresponsive error. On debugging the issue we found that the html size on the client side is 4.73 MB. There's also a lot of DOM traversal (using JQuery) after document is ready (jquery-document.ready). After loading as well, the page simply hangs on any user interaction (scroll, mouseover) etc. A CPU usage spike (25-50% usage) is seen during loading and on any user interaction
i was working on one of the project as it is working fine in Firefox but it is giving the javascript exception in internet explorer.Errror: Error says "s" is undefined in the s.currencyCode="USD" line but "s" is defined in the external javascript file s_code.js
I'm currently editing some html/css within a aspx file inside of Visual Studio 2010. I'm using Chrome as my browser. When I make changes inside of Visual Studio and save/ctrl + F5 to run it frequently fails to load the new updated .css file due to pulling old cached versions of the CSS.
I've used visual studio as my primary HTML editor before but when I work with pure html/css files I just save and refresh the file in chrome and it will refresh the updated css 100% of the time. I've only started to experience this problem when working with aspx files and running things via ctrl + f5. Anyone have any ideas of how I can fix this?
I have a TypeConverter (I followed this example to a 'T' ). It works perfectly within a console application but I get the dreaded "Unable to generate code for a value of type 'className'. This error occurred while trying to generate the property value for...".This appears in the Event Viewer as a "HttpParseException" with a description of "A parser error has occurred."
This occurs ONLY if I attempt to set the Property implementing the TypeConverter Attribute from within the ASPX, if I don't set the Property the page loads fine. Trouble is, becuase it is a Parse Error I am having a heck of a time debugging.
Again, this works fine within a console app, but only fials when used within an aspx app.
I am getting below error when trying to view aspx file in web browser. Server Error in '/Cricket Website' Application. Error finding Application Setting - Error running Procedure - Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown.

When i drag my table into any asp page inside the Visual Web Developer aspx page, Nothing happen, Even there is no datasource or gridView it just the blank page i created.
I tried to create new web forms and all same results i got.
I work in VS 2008. Whenver I add a server control(Label) and set it properties in aspx.vb and build the solution, I get the error "Label1 not declared". While analyzing this issue I noticed that the event handler statements for the Label1 where not added in the designer.asp.vb file. These statement would actually be added automatically when I drag and drop a control to my webpage.
I would also like to inform the scenario after which this problem came to me. I was working in VS 2008 , VS 2005 and VS 2003 in the same machine.Could this have caused the issue ?
Now each and everytime when I add a control, I am adding the "With Events" code in the designer page to make my build succesfull which makes me to spend more efforts.
I have IE V 6 and firefox V 3.6 installed on my computer, when I debug my website with asp.net by Visual studio 2008 it shows my page in IE V 6,I want to debug my site with firefox, because VB 2008 shows me this MSGhttp://www.mediafire.com/i/?i0r5b7mi260wcb3
Did you have any issue to show background images in a gridview with IIS 7. I've exactly applied this [URL] and I've no idea why, my css works for the header but not for:
The alternative row has no background image and the pager too but it works for the header. But when I browse the website online from my laptop, without IIS it works fine. When I check web developer tools from i.e., I've the backround image written in the css so it should come up.
Every time I press F1 to view the online Help it launches in the Opera browser. I really dislike Opera and only have it installed on my PC for testing purposes. How do I change it to IE?
I use DevExpress and have a lot of templates which I use in my Web Application - popup windows with certain styles, menus, rounded panels so on. Of course, I don't want to type the same markup hundred times but also don't want to find this markup in whole application in order to paste it again. I use snippets in code-behind for these purposes. But what about markup?I downloaded it but I see only code-behind refactoring and still can't find how can I use something like snippets in aspx page.
I have an asp.net project both in .net 2005 and 2008.It is working fine in my PC and page is opening from browser but not from other PC.I can able to connect the other pc's,ping it sure there is no connection problem with pc.I think should be in IIS or sharing from my PC.I need both in .net 2005 and 2008.
Editing a web site project with master page in VS2010Ultimate with SP1 and Win7Ultimate 64 bit. Former everything was working fine - all toolbox windows were available when editing master page or aspx page. Now with the master page all toolbox relevant tab were enabled and show - when switching to a aspx page only the HTML tab is shown and enabled. When checking all "Show all" all expected tabs are disabled.
Even the <asp:> namespace is a unrecognized namespace in the aspx file.
When compiling or debugging/running everything is ok.
How can I solve this problem? I'm using Win7 Ultimate 64 Bit, VS2010 Ultimate and IExplorer 9 and the latest updates from Microsoft.
Do you have any idea about the problem causes change the size of my nested aspx pages which are included in master page... When I click on my menu items, it navigates to new aspx pages which is in the content-placeholder .but new pages are getting smaller so my page contents, images, tables, text are moving. And my internet explorer is shutting down.
I have been working on this project for weeks. Every thing was fine. But all of sudden today, I got this error: Page cannot be displayed when I was trying to debug as usual.
I searched online for solution. Only one solution was found at [URL]. But when I followed its steps, I found in my hosts file, it is already like this: 127.0.0.1 localhost
I cannot continue to work without testing finished form pages.
I have a Web App (VS 2010 Beta 2, using VB) and it works flawlessly on the development system. When I publish it, everything works fine unless I use an update panel. If I use the update panel, and try to use something such as a dragpanel, I get the following error.

I am university student and i am not fully familiar with MS visual web developer. wat I need to learn is that i am developing a web application for my project and i am stopped at how to add tab control to my web page. i am using MS visual web developer 2010 express edition. in my toolbox there is no tab control or page control option exist.
I am running Visual Studio 2008. I cannot get the auto format to work on the source code of my aspx page. I have tried it from the edit menu and the ctrl K, D. Nothing works. If I manually fix everything, the next time I open the file the formatting is gone. Here is a sample of what it looks like:
