why I'm getting this error? I just re-created (not migrated) my app that was in ASP.NET 1.1 to ASP.NET 2.0. Whole app works perfectly. The only problem I'm getting with this piece of code for the Web Services. I'm running both versions at the same time side-by-side and it works fine in 1.1 and doesn't work in 2.0.
URLName = Context.Request.Url.Segments URLName0 = URLName(0) URLName1 = URLName(1) URLName2 = URLName(2) URLHost = Request.UserHostName URLStr = "http://" & URLHost & URLName0 & URLName1 & "SomePage.aspx?" & "SectionID=" & SectionID ' Create a 'WebRequest' object with the specified url Dim myWebRequest As WebRequest = CType(WebRequest.Create(URLStr), WebRequest) ' Send the 'WebRequest' and wait for response. Dim myWebResponse As WebResponse = CType(myWebRequest.GetResponse(), WebResponse)
Bam! Error! The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
I've been given merely a wsdl above from client, without any further information given, to make a call using c# code but i added as web reference, used the codes below and the client side detected my request and they've returned us proper format xml too, but i cant retrieve it in the string array from the method returned. the "stringset" has became null instead of array[10]. Can anyone give a hint what kind of web service call is it, since it is not using the simple and classic way to invoke?
static void Main(string[] args) { //added web reference for wsdl as poccrm string[] stringset = new string[10]; poccrm.poclib caller = new ConsoleApplication1.poccrm.poclib(); poccrm.SE1I2001 callerItem = new poccrm.SE1I2001(); callerItem.AcctNo = "0010241000007914"; callerItem.TransNo = "12345678901234567890"; callerItem.StartDate = "20-01-2010"; stringset = caller.SE1I2001(callerItem); //here i get null for stringset, but client received the request and returned us value //same result even I use wsdl.exe converted it to a class file /* string[] stringset = new string[10]; poclib caller = new poclib(); SU1I1001 callerItem = new SU1I1001(); callerItem.AcctNo = "0010029004000370"; callerItem.transno = "12345678901234567890"; caller.end stringset = caller.SU1I1001(callerItem); */ }
I have a .net app consuming a java web service. I added the web reference in visual studio to the proper wsdl, it created the proper proxy class and I can call the web service without any problems but looking at the result that is returned, it is always nothing. I can see, by using Fiddler, that the response is returning what it should. If there is a response, why is the return object never being populated and no errors are thrown?
I am uploading video files, which are somewhat large (5mb - 50mb) via asyncfileupload. I am able to successfully uploaded files of all sizes up to 1.5gb, that I've tested, on my test server and also locally on the production server. It works great, locally.
However, when I process the form that is hosted on my VPS server from my home, it tanks out and I usually receive the error: Access is denied. However, it works occasionally for small files. <1.5mb
I have edited and re-edited all of the associated config files, etc...So it shouldn't be a file size issue-especially since large files are successful locally.
I've also adjusted the UploadReadAheadSize attribute as described in another forum.
I set all of the folder permission so that everyone can read write as well as IUser, IIS_WPG, IIS_Iusr, Network Service am I missing a permission field?
Does anyone know of other settings that I would have to implement in order to get this working for my users.
are there any c# tricks for slower connections?
I am working with VS2010 in a win2k8/iis7 .net4.0 environment.
I am using NeatUpload file upload control: but issue can be generic i am thinking .. that's why posting on asp.net site...
Code works fine on my DEV machine (both file system and localhost) but when i deploy the code on Staging or Prod (on web server)... upload feature works fine but when I try to access the uploaded documents from staging server or Prod server, it says Access denied and cannot open the PDF document??
tried all the options but could not solve this issue... is this related to control or settings on my IIS...
before using NeatUpload(single upload) we were using microsoft upload control and it works fine in accessing the documents....
again upload works perfectly fine... the issue is accessing the documents..
I am running this piece of code to get the source code (as string) of my webpage.
The problem is why this function returns 404 error?
Private Function getPageSource(ByVal URL As String) As String Dim webClient As New System.Net.WebClient() Dim strSource As String = webClient.DownloadString(URL) webClient.Dispose() Return strSource End Function
I have a simple Upload method that send the file to the FTP server, if the file name is already exist, i will overwrite the existing file in the server. This method is working fine.
[Code]....
I'm just wondering how would i be able to change the filename ( originalFileName+timeStamp) during the process of uploading to avoid overwriting of files? I did try changing the method property of WebRequestMethod to
[Code]....
But I'm getting an error
The remote server returned an error: (550) File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
this is a bit of a strange one. have my front page of my intranet site and I am trying to pull an RSS feed from a subdirectory forum.
Root Default.aspx --->Forum --->Rssfeed.aspx
On my default.aspx I can pull RSS Feeds from the BBC or any other external website so my code is working fine but when I try and pull a RSS feed from my local server I get "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unaithorized".Now, if I go to the Forum directory within IIS and change the directory secutiry from "Integrated Windows Authentication" to "Enable anonymous access" the RSS comes through to the front page without any errors, however, the forum requires "Integrated Windows Authentication" to be enable to that my users can post on the forum. If I turn both on then Windows authentication is still ignored for my users when they visit the forum.I have hardcoded my credentials in to the Default.aspx.cs to see if that helps but I still get Unauthorized message.My code is here:
[Code]....
As you can see I have tried a couple of different ways to get the credentials to work, it just seems to ignore my credentials and I have full admin access to the server and when I visit the forum it picks up my username.
I have an Asp.net web service that I created using Visual Studio 2005. I can acess the web service in my test environment, call methods and return data as expected. If this web service is published to the outside world (Outside of the company firewall), it will return a null why this might be happening? The same code is being used,against the same database. The only difference is that the published website is giving back the null reference exception. If I type in the URL for the web service "https://secure.theSiteGeist.com/wsIndigo.asmx" a list of methods for the web service is displayed in my browser. Yet if I try and call any methods on the web service I get back the null reference exception. Note that the URL I posted above is not the real name of my web service, but is just used for reference sake.
The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.I get it when I use the GetReponse() method in WebRequest Dim request As WebRequest = WebRequest.Create(getNextURL()) Dim httpResponse As HttpWebResponse = CType(request.GetResponse(), HttpWebResponse)
I have a simeple web service set up to call from JAVASCRIPT. That works. Can someone tell me how to access profiles from a web seervice. I get arofileCommon could nt be found......I have included the following in the service but it doesn't seem to solve the problem:
using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using ASPSnippets.SmsAPI;
[Code] ...
Also include AspSnippets.SmsAPI in solutionexplorer's Reference foldergot error at following line
//Single SMS SMS.SendSms(txtRecepientNumber.Text.Trim(), txtMessage.Text.Trim());the error is the web remote server returned error (403) forbidden
There is a term beginning with "w" which is an ASP.NET which allows javascript to access and call WCF/ASMX services.It is just like scripthandlerfactory,and the term is not webmethod or webservice(the attributes),but something else.Does anyone know what this term/feature is called?
I want this query to return all distinct properties and a thumbnail image. However some properties don't have thumbnail images and they don't get returned by the query. If the imgid is null I still want to return the property. Not sure of how to do this.
I have problem accessing an SQL server DB on a remote server.Actually, I had no problem with creating a connection string to it using the Visual Web Deveoper 2005 Express Edition GUI, however, I have problem connecting to it through the code.This is the connection string created by the GUI, and connection test on the connection wizzard GUI just works fine.
I want to Access remote server( ie., want to access online server not local server) in my Application.. I change Settings in SQL surface Area Configuration---> Remote Connection ( checked the Local and Remote Connection ) Then while running the application it showing the following error.(I make off the firewall also) An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
In IIS we have a virtual directory (named as "Documents") with in application virtual directory (named as "Reference") that points to an shared folder.All the files with in the "Documents" folder are listed and opened by the user (by clicking on the file name) with in the application
"Reference" application runs under an application pool. This application pool is configured to run with an Active directory account. This AD account has been granted write and modify permissions on the shared folder that contains the html files.
When user tries to open any of the html file located with in the shared location from the application following error is thrown.
System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error
I tried to browse to the location manually and I can see the required files there.
These files where accessible from our application until yesterday. But we started encountering this error from today.
Is there any IIS settings that needs to be modified?
