View 1 RepliesThere is an external (Java based ) web service that i am calling. I've added my service reference and verified that Reference.cs has been generated.
Then i call my service form my client website like such:
....
But my response object is mostly null after it receives the response. The properties that should have values do NOT.
When i look at Trace viewer, the SOAP request is correct and the SOAP response is correct. I get back a valid soap response with all the data i need it's just not making its way back to my response object. I've tried regenerating the proxy many different ways (svcutil) with no luck.
Example of what is in the response object (good data which is not making it's way back to my response object):
<ogc:Spatial_Capabilities><ogc:GeometryOperands><ogc:GeometryOperand>gml:Envelope</ogc:GeometryOperand><ogc:GeometryOperand>gml:Point</ogc:GeometryOperand><ogc:GeometryOperand>gml:LineString</ogc:GeometryOperand><ogc:GeometryOperand>gml:Polygon</ogc:GeometryOperand></ogc:GeometryOperands><ogc:SpatialOperators><ogc:SpatialOperator name="BBOX"></ogc:SpatialOperator><ogc:SpatialOperator name="Overlaps"></ogc:SpatialOperator></ogc:SpatialOperators></ogc:Spatial_Capabilities>
Why isn't the SOAP response making its way back to my response object?
I have trouble with JSON response compression. I look to response headers after uploading website to production server (Windows 2008, IIS 7) and found uncompressed response. Turning on "Enabled static compression" and ""Enable dynamic compression" in IIS control panel does not effect. ASPX pages was responsed gzipped, but webservice response uncompressed.
I looked to google, but no answer found about this trouble. Also, I try this way (and adding to web.config this module) - but this source is excellent working at development machine with ASP.NET development server (and have seven times response size reduced) and totally ignored at IIS7.
How I can apply gzip compression to json responses from my webservice?
I use the JavaScriptSerializer class of ASP.net to serialize my object and return it to the client side. How can I deserialize the string using JavaScript?
View 4 RepliesI have a simple webservice that I would like to upload a file to. The problem is that I need the response in json.
Form my experience in order to get a response in Json my request has to have a content-type of 'application/json'. But ofcourse this cannot be the case with a file upload since the content type will have to be 'multipart/form-data'.
In my Json i want to return a value showing whether successful and a filename.

I've scenario where I want to insert data into database without post back. there are around 12 to 13 fields which i need to insert. I'm passing DTO from the client side which is actually Json object. Now the problem which i'm facing is how to convert that Json object which i got in webservice to the "class" (in my case class name is User) object.
....
In the above case AddNewUser method takes the object of User class. But i'm getting casting error. So how do I convert Json object to the "User" class object?
I am getting data from xml webservice. The data is coming in:
<![CDATA]> like <![CDATA[Semi-Detached, Didcot]]>.
I have used HtmlEncode to convert or get data from above tag but unable to get data. I wanna get data from <![CDATA]> tag and display in a grid.
Does anyone know how to convert backend data to a json response using .NET technologies? It'd be nice to have this and use jquery to call some information on the backend.
View 1 RepliesIs there an easy way to populate my C# Object with the JSON object passed via AJAX?
//This is the JSON Object passed to C# WEBMETHOD from the page using JSON.stringify
{"user":{"name":"asdf","teamname":"b","email":"c","players":["1","2"]}}
//C# WebMetod That receives the JSON Object
[WebMethod]
public static void SaveTeam(Object user)
{
}
//C# Class that represents the object structure of JSON Object passed in to the WebMethod
public class User
{
public string name { get; set; }
public string teamname { get; set; }
public string email { get; set; }
public Array players { get; set; }
}
....
IN:
<soap:Envelope>
<soap:Body>
<testPing>
<apiKey>XDYYBE6Y336S3F</apiKey>
</testPing>
</soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>
OUT:

I have an ASP.NET webservice method that returns a generics list (List'<'Construct>) serialized as JSON, using code such as this:
[WebService(Namespace = "http://tempuri.org/")]
[WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)]
[ScriptService]
public class TestService : System.Web.Services.WebService {
[WebMethod]
[ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)]
public string GetOccupationListJSON(int SOCLevel)
{
Construct NewConstructList = new ConstructList();
DataContractJsonSerializer serializer = new DataContractJsonSerializer(ConstructList.GetType());
MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream();
....
I assumed (from looking elsewhere) that accessing the JSON data through the index would provide me with access to the underlying object at that index, so that I can then work with it to access its properties.
However, when i=0 and I do var Construct = data[i]; I get the character at the i position of the data array ([), and in the next iteration I get the second character ({). So clearly I am accessing the elements of a string array rather than the JSON data object.How do I make sure that the data returned by the webservice gets into proper JSON format, so that I can iterate through the object elements within it?
I have a webservice that sends the response back in XML format.I'm able to connect and call the webservice adding an external web reference to the Visual Studio project.Then in my code behind:As New servicename_addedLabel1.Text = servicename_added.Functionexposed(param1, param2, etc)With that code I can get the response in a large label and unstructured data. If I "view source" I see the XML structured data.I have tried to create an XML document without success.My goal is to parse the response and write it to a database separating all the fields.

I want to serialize an object to json, so I'm using
....
....
This is fine, but I want to return different json datasets depending on the circumstances. Lets say I have this object (a simplified example):
[DataContract]
class foo
{
[DataMember] int productId
[DataMember] string productName
double price; //not used in json.. yet
}
Which will serialize to a json object containing the product name & Id, but what if I also need to be able to return a different json object (say, productId and price but not name)? Can this be done somehow in the same object using WCF/DataContracts and DataMembers? This will be sent in an ajax query containing a collection of objects and needs to fast, so just including every member in every type of json request whether it's needed or not isn't a good solution.
I have a list of person objects which I want to send in response to a jquery' ajax request. I want to send the list into JSON format. The list is as follows -
List<Person> PersonList = new List<Person>();
Person Atiq = new Person("Atiq Hasan Mollah", 23, "Whassap Homie");
Person Sajib = new Person("Sajib Mamud", 24, "Chol kheye ashi");
PersonList.Add(Atiq);
PersonList.Add(Sajib);
How can I convert the "PersonList" list into JSON ?
Does anyone know how to get a csv url file and convert it to a json object so that I can use google charting tools in js?

Some strange problem have occured while developing application. Some WCF webservice returns object with date property.On client this web service is called using Jquery.ajax.Then result is parsed using json2.For date I simply use following expressions:
var reMsAjax = /^/Date((d|-|.*))[/|\]$/;
a = reMsAjax.exec(value);
if (a)
var b = a[1].split(/[-+,.]/);
return new Date(b[0] ? +b[0] : 0 - +b[1]);
unfortunatelly if browser timezone differs simple new Date with milliseconds not works.Time will be based on timezone.
I am using this method since a year to build my project, but I am really tried of it now. I have to find some good solution on it.
The issue is, in my solution I have some c# library projects(BO, BAL, DAL) and 1 web project which also contains a webservice.
My Webservice accesses BusinessObject classes to transfter data from webservice to Window Application programm.
Now when I am adding a webservice reference to this web application, I got some error like following
Error 34 Argument 1: cannot convert from 'TestSolution.Business_Objects.Synchro' to 'KeySoftlock.KeyWebService.Synchro' D:websTestSolutionKeySoftlockBusiness LogicWebServiceCaller.cs 296 62 KeySoftlock
so , for this what I am always doing is , I go into the Reference.cs of KeySoftlock project - auto created by VS when I add web reference- and delete the classes that are automatically generated there., and adds a namespace Business_Objects, so that both classes will be the same.
Now my project-solution builds properly! But now its really overhead of always doing this when I change the webservice reference from local to remote and vice versa.
On my page I have a dropdown for country.
On my asmx service I want to get the value of the dropdownlist to filter the next input which will be state/providence.
My code on the asmx:
....
I want to add another clause to the WHERE statement to restrict Country = @Country so I will need to get that value to the web service.
I have datatable consist of 20 records and i want to bulk insert into sqlserver through the asmx webservice. Can anybody guide to me or provide Sample BusinessLogic and webservice code.
