WCF / ASMX :: Pass Audio File As Binary In XML Through Webservice?
Nov 26, 2010
In my application I want to send an audio file (.mp3) as binary string through XML webservice, and save the binary data as audio file in server. In this case what should be the structure of XML file and how can I convert this incoming binary sting to audio file in webservice code.
Currently I tried a structure like the following
<XML>
<Files>
<File>
<FileName>audio_123.mp3</FileName>
<FileType>audio</FileType>
<FileData>![CDATA[ - binary data goes here -]]</FileData>
</File>
</Files>
</XML>
i am working in the webservice project. I have one project when i run it then shows the text box for parameters and return the result after passing the parameters.
But another webservice does not allow me to enter the paramerters when execute then list of methods displayed and then show the soap xml when click at any method.
what difference found in both webserivces are Excuting-one that have the Text boxes: Test: "To test the operation using the HTTP POST protocol, click the 'Invoke' button."
2nd One Not provide the parameter text boxes: Test: "The test form is only available for methods with primitive types as parameters"
Dont know how to fix that. Because i want to debug the webservice and as i am unable to provide the parameter then how can i fix it.
how can i pass the parameters in the 2nd webservice as it has different information mentioned above.
what i will do is upload the mp3 files in my directory and called the file name on button click event in query string how can i pass query string vlaue to this html tag.
<audio controls> <source src="horse.ogg" type="audio/ogg"> <source src="horse.mp3" type="audio/mpeg"> Your browser does not support the audio tag. </audio>
I have a Webservice that receives a file (byteArray) and saves it on server disk.
[Code]....
But my webservice isn't hosted on the same folder of my website.
I mean: [URL] Is it possible to put a webservice on the same folder of the main website? Or it's not a problem ? (Can I retrieve the files in the webservice's folder from website?)
I am trying to put the namespace value as a key in web.config file, so that when I deploy this on production, I just have to change the namespace key in the config file only, not on all of my webservice cs files. But When I try to browse this webservice after changing this code I get compilation error.
web.config:
[Code]....
MyWebService.cs (this code works)
[Code]....
Compiler Error Message: CS0182: An attribute argument must be a constant expression, typeof expression or array creation expression of an attribute parameter type
I am writing an application in which I want to generate dynamic html file based on the parameters of jquery objects. I want to pass the parameters to a webservice which will produce the required html page. How I can achieve it.
have a working ASP.NET 3.5 webservice that accepts standard POST requests using an encoding type of application/x-www-form-urlencoded. I then added a method which needs to accept an uploaded file. We change the encoding type of the request to multipart/form-data so that we can get the file data and now we receive the following error:System.InvalidOperationException: Request format is invalid: multipart/form-data
I have datatable consist of 20 records and i want to bulk insert into sqlserver through the asmx webservice. Can anybody guide to me or provide Sample BusinessLogic and webservice code.
I am using one DLL file of Active Socket Object 3.5 and it has one function writeAsUnicode which take String as parameter. But I need to pass binary value. In ASP, it can be done but in asp.net it becomes problem. So is there any other way to solve it.
I am working on an ASP.NET Web application and I want it to have audio playback functionality. I can do is using directories. For example, using the ASP.NET Audio control like :- , is pretty easy and straight-forward and works accordingly. But, the trouble comes when I'm using a database and the control. I am totally new to data binding in ASP.NET. I don't like using JavaScript, but i am comfortable using it, but I would prefer C# solution (I know beggars can't be choosers).
I have a database containing only one table called tblAudio. This table has two fields only for the title of the audio file (type NVARCHAR(MAX)) and the field for the actual audio (type VAR BINARY(MAX)). I'm using Visual Studio 2010 Professional with SQL Server Express Edition. The table has a single record with the relevant data in their fields.
I already have my audio file in database (which is in varbinary(max) data type) and I could retrieve said music as byte(). But the problem is I don't know how to play it..
My files are stored on a data repository in different formats like .doc,.docx,.pdf,.jpeg,.jpg,.tiff. I want to get those files in binary format(i.e byte[]) so that I can able to see that file to the user using a radbinary image control.I am able to get .jpeg and .jpg files and I can show those to users.But while I am trying to show .doc,.docx,.pdf files I am getting "Not valid parameter" exception.How can I solve this problem? My doubt is that pdf,doc,docx files are having no of pages. So while converting this total pages in to binary data I am getting error. So How can I show first page of .doc,.docx,.pdf files using radbinary image control.Here is my code.RadBinary Image controlis a telerik control,it only deals with binary data.

I am using PHP web service in dot net [URL]I set the name of web service as Test but when I am trying to access object test I was not able to use that, is there is any other method to use PHP webservice.
I was looking for an asp.net webservice that uses .net 4.0 but everytime I choose 4.0 the webservice choice goes away.Someone suggested to me that maybe they(MS) want you to use WCF instead. I don't know much about it but he said they are like webservices but better. So anyone got a comparisons guide?
