I am consuming a web service in .aspx with a added web reference that links to http://www.webservicex.net/stockquote.asmx After this, I can get the result from ebServiceX.StockQuote ws = new WebServiceX.StockQuote();String xmlString = s.GetQuote("XOM"); I am wondering how I can call the web service like GET, http://www.webservicex.net/stockquote.asmx/GetQuote?symbol=XOM+BAC
I have a Webservice that receives a file (byteArray) and saves it on server disk.
[Code]....
But my webservice isn't hosted on the same folder of my website.
I mean: [URL] Is it possible to put a webservice on the same folder of the main website? Or it's not a problem ? (Can I retrieve the files in the webservice's folder from website?)
I am trying to put the namespace value as a key in web.config file, so that when I deploy this on production, I just have to change the namespace key in the config file only, not on all of my webservice cs files. But When I try to browse this webservice after changing this code I get compilation error.
web.config:

MyWebService.cs (this code works)
[Code]....
Compiler Error Message: CS0182: An attribute argument must be a constant expression, typeof expression or array creation expression of an attribute parameter type
I am writing an application in which I want to generate dynamic html file based on the parameters of jquery objects. I want to pass the parameters to a webservice which will produce the required html page. How I can achieve it.
In my application I want to send an audio file (.mp3) as binary string through XML webservice, and save the binary data as audio file in server. In this case what should be the structure of XML file and how can I convert this incoming binary sting to audio file in webservice code.
Currently I tried a structure like the following
<XML> <Files> <File> <FileName>audio_123.mp3</FileName> <FileType>audio</FileType> <FileData>![CDATA[ - binary data goes here -]]</FileData> </File> </Files> </XML>
have a working ASP.NET 3.5 webservice that accepts standard POST requests using an encoding type of application/x-www-form-urlencoded. I then added a method which needs to accept an uploaded file. We change the encoding type of the request to multipart/form-data so that we can get the file data and now we receive the following error:System.InvalidOperationException: Request format is invalid: multipart/form-data
I have an ASP.Net website, that uses a MySQL database. First of all, because the Connect/Net of MySQL doesn't install on PC (reason unknown, no error, it just doesn't work) I'm using ODBC for the connection. I've written some nice wrapper classes for using the database, and it's all working ok.
But now I'm adding a little Silverlight application to my website (first thing I'm making with WCF/Silverlight, without actually reading any tutorial, so let's hope for the best).
Now this application won't be anything fancy, it's only for the administrators, to read the logs, and change some configuration settings, etc, nothing fancy at all. But what it has to do is retrieve data from the services.
What I've done is a setup a service reference, and it works like a blessing, but now I'm trying to read the logs from the service, and I'm getting in trouble, because my class was never built to serialize to XML, first issue. And secondly I wouldn't know how to bind the retrieved data at the client to the datagrid.
I'm going to parse the recordset at the server so that I'll be sending a class containing an array of columns, and a multi-dimensional with the data to the client, now that's not much of a problem, I'm just mentioning it so that you can either improve or keep in mind what the data will look like.
My question: How would I bind that retrieved data to a plain <sdk:DataGrid>?
I have a number of dropdownlists which use cascading dropdownlist / webservices. All fine. Now user wants last dropdown to be multi-select. So I want to replace the last dropdownlist with a listbox. But there is no cascadinglistbox. I'm looking for a straight-forward solution if possible. Either how to fill the listbox with the existing webservice which fills the last dropdownlist, or - is it possible to use the contrents of the last dropdown as a datasource for the listbox? I thought maybe hide the last dropdown and loop through its contents to fill the listbox.
Above Web Method compiles but does not work. Originally was using Console.* stuff, but that didn't work either. The string arguments are remote URLs. What's wrong with this code?
I have datatable consist of 20 records and i want to bulk insert into sqlserver through the asmx webservice. Can anybody guide to me or provide Sample BusinessLogic and webservice code.

I was looking for an asp.net webservice that uses .net 4.0 but everytime I choose 4.0 the webservice choice goes away.Someone suggested to me that maybe they(MS) want you to use WCF instead. I don't know much about it but he said they are like webservices but better. So anyone got a comparisons guide?
