I need to add some linkbuttons dynamicly to the page, this isnt a problem.
But I need to put the controls in this format :

So if I need to add 3 linkbuttons it should render like this

In a User Control, I need to add a Div to the end of its parent's page. I've done this in a number of ASPX pages, where I put the code to generate the Div and its contents in the page's PreRender event handler, and it works fine. But when I try to do the same thing in the PreRender event handler for the User Control, I get the following error:
The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases.How do I accomplish this in a User Control?
I have Web Application which uses the Logged In User (Authenticated User) to query his Profile Data from Adabas/Unix using OLEDB. The application provides the user with about 21 different pages (Basic Info, Employment Info, Education, Dependants, Financial Info ...).
The web application has a master page, and each profile data page is based on a User Control loaded in the Child ASPX Page.
The Data Layer of this Web Application will have to undergo major modification, since we are migrating our legacy applications from Adabas/Unix to SAP, the development Team has prepared web services to query for the same Profile Data from SAP using Web Services. Now, we have to modify the web application to consume the web services instead of using OLEDB to query Adabas.
Since we are in the testing phase, and we have only very limited data in SAP, I have to provide temporary control to allow test query the Staff Profile for a Specified User (instead of the Authenticated User) and to select the Source:
1. SAP, or
2. Adabas.
So I am thinking to add the following "Control Section" in the Master Page:

Becuase the users defined in SAP are based on Dummy Data, so we want to allow the user to Enter the required SAP User, and he will select "SAP" from the Drop-Down-List. In this case, the program will query for Staff Profile Data from SAP for the specified "Staff ID" (txtSAPStaffID) instead of the Authenticated User. But, if "Adabas" is selected for the "ddlDataSource" then, it will default to the Authenticated User.
I noticed that when I am following the above technique, if I press "Go", the Staff Profile Data Page is disappeared, and when I navigate from page to another, the selection on the values entered in the "Control Section" in the master page are reset to default value, ie, the last values are not maintained.
Questions:
1. What is your feedback on the method I followed above ? Any other recommendations? I need very simple method.
2. Why the data page (the child page of the master page) is cleared (disappears) when I press the Go button ?
3. How to maintain the values selected when I navigate from one page to another ?
I am trying to dynamically add a queryextender expression to the page. something like, when the user clicks a button, we need to add a OrderbyExpression. The following is the code used. It works when added in Page_Load but doesn't when added on a button click event. Upon button click the page just reloads and ignores the filter condition.

I'm trying to add html text to some repeater items during DataBind, but the html text isn't parsed into controls it just displays as text. If I copy the text and just add it to the asp.net page it works fine so I know my syntax is fine. So is there a way to dynamically add more html text during the data-bind phase?

There is a Gridview (AutoGenerateColumns=true) and in the RowDataBound I check every column for a boolean datatype. If found I add a checkbox (autopostback=true) to the cell and register the CheckedChanged event.
The problem is, that I only get the CheckedChanged event, if I reload the grid in Page_Load:

}
But this is very expensive and causes that the db request will be executed twice. If I changed the code to what I want:

if (!this.IsPostBack)

I get no CheckedChanged event.
Is there a possibility to get:
- Adding a Checkbox in RowDataBound
- Only "LoadGrid()" if it is no PostBack
- Getting the CheckedChanged event of the relevant row

I have read in so many articles that all controls get their values from viewstate before load event. Then how my dynamically added controls get their values when i am adding them in OnLoad event ie after LoadPostData event.
Okay, this is a continuation of a previous question of mine, but it is distinct enough to be its own question. Based on user interaction, I'm calling a .ashx handler via a jquery ajax call, and that handler is building some html for me that includes some Telerik controls like a masked textbox (masked for a phone number like "(###) ###-####".
I got around all the hurdles of using Render() to get the html output of a server control even when it doesn't have a "Page" object or a ScriptHandler object.However, when I show the control to a user, I see the mask in the text of the textbox, but the mask doesn't "work" in the sense that when a user starts typing, it is as if the mask is really just text.
So, my question is, after putting the html code out for a masked textbox, how do I tell whatever javascript is supposed to mask the input to really start masking on that specific control?
My web app has a datalist with pagination. How can I dynamically add controls for the page numbers? For example, right now I have something like:

I am using jquery ajax method to get data from a web method and present data using DOM(similar to that of google search results).B'coz the data returned from the web method is huge I want to paginate the results.For that I need to create buttons corresponding to the page numbers based on the no. of records the web method retrieves from the database.So I have taken a div on the page.In the web method ,as soon as I can find the number of records obtained from the database,I want to create the buttons and add to this div and display 10 records per page.As far as I know, it is not possible to access anything that is placed on the asp.net page from Web method.In that case how do I paginate the results?

I have set a break point on the Load_Page and in the EventDoesNotFire method. The Load_Page fires, but it never enters the EverDoesNotFire method.
I have one .aspx page and have some HTML textbox controls. My requirement is add "onkeydown" event for all textbox controls in commonly for that page or top of that page or use common .js file.
Is there any possible solutions in this requirement?

I am trying to add a user control into a div at runtime. I can add the control no probelem but it overwrites the previous control added.Basically, I am trying to add passengers to a travel system - the passenger details are in the user control and I don't know in advance how many there will be. I have an add new passenger button which should append the new user control into the div without overwriting the previous passenger. The code is c#/.net 4. I have tried to save the control data into viewstate and re add it with the new one but that also doesn't work. Here is a snippet of the code I'm using

This works by placing the content page specific title on the page ("My Page" in this example). Now I want to add a global prefix to the title in my master page for the site name. So I want:

However, when I do this content pages are still rendered without "Example.com" in the tile, it's like it's ignored.

View 2 RepliesI am looking for some advice on how to accomplish something. What I have is a gridview on a page that I want on another page. I would like to show this gridview in a modalpopup.The problem is that the gridview is on a page that is not open and is not likely to be the previous page. I have simply put an iframe inside the modalpopup and loaded the page containing the gridview, however this page is a child page and I get a lot of content from the master page that I do not want. All I want from the page is the gridview.The two options I am considering are putting the gridview in the master page or copying the gridview, and all its events code, to the page that calls the modalpopup.Is there a better way to do this? Or should I just put the gridview in the master page. Can I load a control from a page that isn't open?

Every thing goes fine, even under the size and a extension restrictions, but when I try to add an .exe file with 30MB I would expect the script to write a warning saying the file is over the size limit and as an extension that cannot be uploaded, instead it shows a Page Unavailable
I'd tried to troubleshoot with try/catch on the init event but it doesn´t reach that far, it seem's that the compilation stops with no explanation...or is there?

I have gone through the article "Preserving state of Checkboxes while paging in ASP.Net GridView Control", this is great one and works fine with one gridview on the page but in my case I have 2 gridviews and I am unable to preserve state of first gridview after clicking in second gridview.
