I have a checkboxlist on a c# page where when a box is checked it saves its value in the following format to a textbox
1,2,3, etc...

This works ok however the problem is i want to be able to audit the values i save in the DB. For example i may want to do a count how many times 1 appears or 2 etc..
I am fairly new to ASP.NET C#, I have a vehicle table which stores basic info about the vehicle, then a vehicle options table that stores the options available on the table.
I have a checkboxlist control on my form and I am populating the list items from the database. I am trying to loop thru the items to determine which ones the user has selected. After determining which ones are selected I need to add rows for each item selected to the vehicle options table.

if I check 1 & 3 items, then I close the page
if I re-open the page, items 1 & 3 must be checked.

I am trying to insert 8 different selected values from a CheckBoxList into 8 different columns of a database. As it now, I am only able to concatenate all 8 selections into a single string in one column. But this is not what I want to do. In my DB I have Column1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Is there any way of getting this done?

When we change the selected radio button then it modifies the elements in the checkboxlist. For this I setted the radio buttons with autopostback, and in the code behind (in OnLoad) I populate the CheckBoxList depending on the selected radio button.
This work fine.
The problem is that I also have a button at the end of my form which post the data of my form in another page (with PostBackUrl). Then in that page I would like to retrieve the values of the checked checkbox. But I can't find how to do that. In the Request.Form I don't see anything.
I searched on the web but I didn't found really a solution.
I have a checkboxlist (cblTeamMates) with a sqldatasource (sqlTeamMates) that has 3 columns (ID, FullName and Status ). View 4 RepliesI am using CreateUserWizard control where I collect personal information from the user on the first step (ie. name, address, tel, mobile etc) then on the second step I collect information for membership service (ie. user name, password, email etc). When user clicks Create button, information is sent to two different tables in the same database. Everything works fine but one.
In the first step where I collect personal information, I also collect details about Interest which is a CheckBoxList (CheckBoxList is getting values from Interests table: 1-White, 2-Green, 3-Brown, 4-Maroon, 5-Yellow).
What I want to do is, when client selects his itnerest categories and clicks Create button, to send selected values from CheckBoxList into the third table called Categories. I want values to be registered into the CatCode column in Interests table as comma delimited. For example: if client selected "White", "Green" and "Yellow", appropriate values for those interests (such as 1, 3, 5) to be registered under Categories table CatCode column (like: 1,3,5).

how I access /retrieve values of checkboxlist inside a repeater? My code is below..is it the same as if it was not inside a repeater? My other concern is how do I distinguish these checkboxes because basically what 's going to happen here is based on which checkbox is selected I need to query an xml file to get the location of a folder which I'm then going to zip up and allow user to download..So here's the breakdown. I have an accordion panel using jquery ui. Each panel hold a product and each product has the same checkboxes..so depending on which product the user wants to download files for which he/she will indicate by opening the accordion panel for that product and checking which checkboxes/file they want to download . So how will I know which product the user clicked the checkboxes for being that I'm using this repeater which just one ID?

View 1 RepliesI'm working on the admin tool and am using DetailsView to edit the records (.net 2.0). In the screenshot below, the left is the GridView, and the right is the DetailsView. When a user clicks "Select" in the GridView, I am trying to display the assigned Sectors stored in the database via a checkboxlist (activities can have multiple sectors). This way, the Admin user could just uncheck/check what sectors they want to change. Unfortunately, I can only get the first sector that's stored database to show up.
Is it possible for the Checkboxlist control to allow for more than one box to be checked at the same time? If so, do I need to create a custom funcion (via looping) in order to populate the checkboxlist accordingly? I've ran into 3 articles so far that imply that, but can't get the For Each to work for my situation:

Now when the form is posted, I am trying to retrieve the values submitted in the controller as below:

The string value shows null when I submit the form by checking some checkboxes. Is this the way to retrieve the values or am I doing something wrong? And I cannot use html control because all other controls on the form are server controls and I am not sure if I can only make this control a html control. And I am not sure how can I bind the values to it?
I would like to know the fastest/easiest way to check if a CheckBoxList control has any checked items or not, I'm talking about an entire checkbox list as a whole, not a single checkbox.

I have a GridView which I have a List bound to - I want to be able to allow filter of the data based on multiple CheckBoxLists. For arguments sake let's say I have a List of Jobs, and I want to filter the jobs by code - So I would have a CheckBoxList likeC#ASP.NETphpF#etc..If someone selects multiple codes, how do you pass the values into a List to rebind to the GridView? Is there a way to pass values as an array? Or maybe a comma seperated string?Any examples (I'm a C# boy) would be greatly appreciated, and I hope I have explained it properly :S
View 3 RepliesI have a page with 5 seperate collections of checkboxes that are created according to entries in a database...i.e. the checkboxes ID values correspond to a selectable list from a database.
I also have a list of records which is a subset of the list of checkboxes and refers to those checkboxes within the list that have been checked (selected).
So...2 tables...one with the complete list of checkboxes, and the other with the list of those that are to be marked as checked
I've built the checkboxes in the view by passing the list via the model and using a for loop as so:

I'm trying to store multiple selected checkboxes from a single checkboxlist, but i don't know where to start. Imagine i have three tables: tbl_events, tbl_organisors and tbl_settings and i want to store the organisors of an event. Each event can have multiple organisors, so each organisor should be added as a single row into tbl_settings. I know how to bind tbl_organisors to a checkboxlist, but how do i store the results (meaning: add the rows to tbl_settings) ?
tbl_events: Event_ID (PK) and Event_Name
tbl_organisors: User_ID and user_name.
tbl_settings: Settings_ID (PK), Event_ID and User_ID

Initially all checkboxes will be unchecked, but users must be able to select multiple organisors from the checkboxlist and then store them into the DB by submitting a form. So the query will look something like: INSERT INTO tbl_settings (user_id, event_id) VALUES (@user_id, @event_id). And this is where my head cracks
1) How do i loop through all selected checkboxes and store each value (user_id) in a new row in tbl_settings?
2) After saving, the users reloads the page and the organisors he just selected must be selected by default in the checkboxlist. How?
