Web Forms :: DataBinding Manipulation For ListBox?

I'm trying to represent and add/remove enrollment of individuals in the database to different programs using two list boxes.
1. Programs: list of programs
2. ActivePrograms: list of programs the individual is enrolled in
I know how to add/remove items from one list box to the other:
my problem is how to represent in the seconed box the list of programs the individual is already enrolled in and to bind it and reflect changes in the "tblPrograms" for each individual
In the SQL database I have two tables:
1. tblIndividuals: information about the individual (with unique ID number)
2. tblPrograms: list of programs with a column for the Indivuduals ID
I was thinking for the 'Programs' table to make the program columns a yes/no columns.
right now I just have the "Programs" listbox showing the list of programs from another table called "ProgramList"
Here is what I need:
The "ActivePrograms" list box to reflect the list of programs for each IndividualID from the "tblPrograms" table (the ones with the value "Yes") and the "Programs" List box to reflect all programs minus the ones the are already in the "ActivePrograms" list box
have an ASP.Net page with two ListBox components, rendered in the browser as <select> lists. I'm using jQuery to move elements from one list to another by manipulating the DOM. I then select all elements with the mouse and postback the form. That way, all the list elements are posted with the form.When I submit the form, in my button_save() event handler, the Request.Form[<<listbox ID>>] values are correct. However the ListBox controls themselves, specifically their Items collections, do not reflect my changes.I've also used Fiddler to modify the select items and submit the form. Same as above, the ListBox values are no different, though the Request.Form values are. Would anyone know what's going on or what incorrect assumptions I'm making?
I've never worked with ASP.net before this project, and I am struggling a bit. The website I am updating was written in ASP.net and C#, using a master page. The master page is simple enough (header section, maincontent section, footer section, and a righcontent section).What I need to happen...On one page only, I would like the maincontent section to extend through the rightcontent section. On this page I will not need the rightcontent section.What is the easiest way to produce these results? As of now, I have unused space on the page...and I can't figure out how to utilize the extra white space.
and at the page load event i retrieve the value of the label & assign it to a string !

Now i dont know why this manipulation does'nt work! I've a character 'A' in the string and i'm unable to replace it with a space ! stringvalue.Replace(A, " ");
My head aches from beating it against the wall for so long. I have a gridview that is populated from a code behind table. The gridview has 3 bound lables, a checkbox (unbound) and another label (unbound). All fields are in template fields. I have coded a vb sub with one command: beep. It fires perfectly every time a user checks the gridview ckeckbox. Here are the columns of the gridview:
1. Player - bound label
2. Description- bound label
3. Amount- bound label
4. ToPay - ckeckbox
5. AmountToPay - unbound label
When a gridviewrow's checkbox is checked (or unchecked) the code determines the check status. If it is checked then the AmountToPay label is to display the same value of the third label (Amount) or it will clear it's text value if the checkbox is unchecking the box. Here is my code:

I have tried about a dozen ways of reading the checked property of the checkbox but nothing works (sender, e, gridview, rows, items, cells, findcontrol, adnauseum). I want to work the code like this somehow:

I am designing a program that will let me enter the name of an item to swap and adds the swap to an array list when a button Add is pressed. Once the item is added to the array list a Sub Procedure should be called which displays the contents of the array list in a list box.
The system will also allow me to remove items from the array list using a Remove button
followed by updating array list.
I have done some part which puts item into the listbox1 which i named lstSwapList.I would need some assistance on the Sub Procedure to display the Value or Description on the other listbox2 which i have also named lstContent,if a value is selected from the listbox1.
I would also want to know how to update the Listbox content,However i hv added a sample of the way i guess it may be.
Any complete solution from anybody on the Sub Procedure and the Update Swap procedure will be greately appreciated.

I have two list boxes, one has a list of available users (about 1500 items) and the other is blank. There is a button to add the seleted items from the first list box to the second one. Both of these listboxes are within an update panel and for some reason it takes over 20 seconds for the items to show up in the second listbox.
Is this normal? Is there an alternate, faster way of doing this?

the result i am getting is "MyOU1" instead of getting "MyOU1 Control"
it contains can contains either of (1) strQuery = "TempTable.Group_No IN ()";
(2) strQuery = "TempTable.Group_No IN (1,2,3,4,....)";
My task is if it contains "TempTable.Group_No IN ()", (i.e) IN CLAUSE without data i have to replace the string (IN() with IN (NULL)) with "TempTable.Group_No IN (NULL)"
When I try to remove the last few characters of a string, I get an index out of range error. I am using the following to remove the characters from the end of the string: objJSONStringBuilder.Remove(objJSONStringBuilder.Length - 1, 6) The string has <hr /> at the end which I want to remove.
All i did is added an existing webform from vs 2003 project to vs 2008. with Listbox1 control this error is appearing. value of type system.web.ui.webcontrols.listbox cannot be converted to "myprojectname.listbox"

I need to dynamically modify the contents of a column in a GridView1 before it is displayed. Basically, I need to convert every 'Environment.NewLine' in a field to a so it displays as a new line on an ASP.NET page. How do I do this?

I can a split function and split on the backslash character to get the pieces. But if my directory could change this wouldn't work. So how would I instead parse out the last backslash and get the filename that way so that it wouldn't matter if the path changed?

I have been trying to figure out how to use <asp:requiredfieldvalidator> with ValidationExpression but am having a difficult time understanding the syntax of ValidationExpression. I'd like to make sure one textbox's number (1-12) is equal to or higher than the other textbox's (1-12) number. For DAL layer:
Creating an abstract class that will define all database manipulation methods to implement. The abstract class will contain a static "Instance" property, that will load (if instance == null) an instance (Activator.CreateInstance) of the needed type (a class that implements it).
Creating a classes that implement this abstract class, the implementation will be according to the databases (SQL, mySQL and etc) in use.
With this I can create different implementation according to database in use.
For BLL layer:
A class that encapsulates all all retrieved fields , and static methods that will call the DAL classes.
how I can read the selected field from the listbox?I have MSAccess table attached to the app.I can get to the properties, but I don't know which property gets me the data of the specific field.In VB it would be "listbox1.Column(x)", where 'x' represents the column number in the listbox1.I am using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010 Express
I want to dynamically populate a link with the URI of the current request, but set one specific query string parameter. All other querystring paramaters (if there are any) should be left untouched. Caveats: I'd like to avoid string manipulation if there's something more elegant in asp.net that is more robust. However if there isn't something more elegant, so be it. I've done (a little) homework: I found a blog post which suggested copying the request into a local HttpRequest object, but that still has a read-only collection for the querystring params. I've also had a look at using a URI object, but that doesn't seem to have a querystring
I'm trying to create a class, DataCommon, to contain all my SQL Data manipulation functions. I've created a Subroutine called Init that initializes a SQLDataAdapter:

From my other classes I am creating an instance of DataCommon, calling Init, and calling another subroutine in DataCommon that pulls data from SQL and loads the data into my dataset. This part is working great -- no problems at all. I'm loading three different Datatables in the Dataset with no issues.
At this point, I'll perform my various manipulations on the datatables -- add/delete/modify rows -- again with no problems. All of this is creating postbacks...and this is where my problem begins. After I've done all my manipulations to the data and am ready to update my SQL tables, I have to re-initialize my SQLDataAdapter. I thought I could do something like: [Code]....
But I get the error: Exception inserting Class. Thread was being aborted.
In my initial data load from SQL, each datatable is getting loaded from a single SQL table, so I was hoping to use the autogenerated Update/Insert/Delete statements by the SQLDataAdapter. As a test, as soon as I filled the dataset initially, I added a new row to one of the datatables and used the SQLDataAdapter.Update() method before a postback occurred, and it worked perfectly.
So, with all that being said, I guess my question is, how do I reconnect the table mappings between my SQLDataAdapter and dataset to autogenerate the updates after a postback occurs? I've tried researching this, but I get confused after reading about FillSchema vs TableMappings vs everything else I've read about.
I'm trying to build a webpage without using any asp.net data binding controls ( listview, repeaters etc.)that I'm trying to do is to use stored procedure to get all necessary items, loop through them, and bind to labels, images etc.The problem is when i want to repeat .aspx code. I'm able to do everything i want in c#, but it's really pain to create all the necessary html elements such breaklines, spans, textboxes and so on.I tried to use expression builders, but it only repeats the last value from database.
