View 3 RepliesCOMPLETE NOOB, dont know anything.. I have a Virtual directory ~/ClubInfoFiles that i upload some files too using a uploader i made. I might want to change the uploader i made to be able to change to a subdirectory or something so i can upload all files into one folder but different subdirectorys. the uploader i would like to be able to have a dropdown menu of all the subdirectorys within "ClubInfoFiles" say i has subfolders : Minutes, Flight Plans, Maintence Records, etc... but i would also like a field to where i can create a new subdirectory and have it automaticly update the dropdown. i want to list those files in gridview and have a link to dowload/open and dellete the files. i have found some code that gets close but it uses Auto Generate columns. really i dont need all that jazz, just the Name, File extention, and hyperlink the file for download/view. i would like to be able to delete and possible upload using the gridview... is this to much for a noob?

I have some code in my logout routine that deletes some temporary session files when the user logs out or when the session expires. Deleting these folders causes my web app to restart. It does not error out or throws an exception it just restarts!
View 1 RepliesI have an asp.net web application that allows users to upload files to an 'uploads' directory that is located in the same virtual directory as the web app. Each uploaded file goes into a temporary sub directory that is named after the user's session id. Once I'm finished with the files, I delete the temp sub directory. The only problem is that when a sub directory is deleted, the AppDomain gets recycled and kills all user sessions (using inproc session state). The culprit appears to be a FileChangesMonitor that watches for changes in all sub directories in the application.
The following code works great in IIS 6.0 running on Windows Server 2003 to disable the FileChangesMonitor for sub directories, but for some reason it's not working in IIS 7.0 on Windows Server 2008:
System.Reflection.PropertyInfo p = typeof(System.Web.HttpRuntime).GetProperty("FileChangesMonitor", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.NonPublic | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Public | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Static);
object o = p.GetValue(null, null);
System.Reflection.FieldInfo f = o.GetType().GetField("_dirMonSubdirs", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Instance | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.NonPublic | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.IgnoreCase);
object monitor = f.GetValue(o);
System.Reflection.MethodInfo m = monitor.GetType().GetMethod("StopMonitoring", System.Reflection.BindingFlags.Instance | System.Reflection.BindingFlags.NonPublic);
m.Invoke(monitor, new object[] { });
I found another solution that disables the FileChangesMonitor altogether here. But this is not the ideal solution as I still want to monitor all other files except for the temp sub directories in the 'uploads' directory. Why does this work in IIS 6.0 and not in IIS 7.0? In IIS 7.0 can you specify sub directories in a virtual folder you want to disable recycling on? Is there another way to do this without using reflection?
I have a grid view that display a list of adverts that I have in the database. I was wondering if it is possible to delete an image from the database (the advet image) when I delete the row of a grid view.

I am tring deleting the image in the gridview and in folder where it locate . My page in the update panel

In asp.net, we have uploaded a .jpeg file and saved this as bitmap image using following code
HttpPostedFile uploadFile;
System.IO.Stream stream = uploadFile.InputStream;
using (System.Drawing.Image imgSource = System.Drawing.Bitmap.FromStream(stream))
{
System.Drawing.Image.GetThumbnailImageAbort myCallback = new System.Drawing.Image.GetThumbnailImageAbort(ThumbnailCallback);
using (System.Drawing.Image imgThumbnail = imgSource.GetThumbnailImage(imgSource.Width, imgSource.Height, myCallback, IntPtr.Zero))
{
imgThumbnail.Save(filePath, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg);
imgThumbnail.Dispose();
}
imgSource.Dispose();
}
stream.Close();
stream.Flush();
stream.Dispose();
After upload, if we perfrom delete operation it throws error. We are following code to do so;
if (File.Exists(filePath))
{
File.Delete(filePath);
}
The exception says:The process cannot access the file 'abc.jpg' because it is being used by another process.
i have a database with several paths looking like the one below
C:S&M Site ProjectNEWSMAASitePhotos2GUY093GUY093-Tulips.jpg..
What i aim to do is load the images into a gallery control (if one exist)the users viewing the images should be able to do either of the following:
-Double click on an image to see it bigger or some large predefined size.(thats the viewing part of it)
-Select those images the want and then extract it as a single PDF file to any location on the user machine.
-print all selected images.
-Remove all selected images from the gallery as well as the image path from the database.
I have a repeater which binds a set of data. Within this repeater is a column with various controls for updating, deleting, etc. These are image buttons which fire an onclick event such as "DeleteRecord". All this does is fire a stored procedure, passing in the ID of the record to delete from the CommandArgument of the object.
This works wonderfully... except for one rather huge problem. Once you delete a record, if you refresh the page, the record where the first deleted record used to be gets deleted. For instance... if I have 4 records
1 Record1
2 Record2
3 Record3
4 Record4
and I delete record 2... The page reloads with (which is fine):
1 Record1
3 Record3
4 Record4
...if I then hit refresh...
1 Record1
4 Record4
I assume this is because the erroneously deleted object (record3) is now in the same hierarchical place as the old object used to be and .net therefore doesn't know the difference, the page refreshes and fires the onlick event, grabbing out the command argument of the new object and deletes based on the ID as obtained from the commandargument of the new object. This is obviously a huge problem, if a client did this it would destroy data erroneously and I'm at a loss here. Is there any way to stop this from happening? I'm not sure if there is a better way to go about doing things or not. If there isn't, I need some sort of way to tell the page not to execute the event or to cross reference the ID of the object that is intended for deletion against the object itself...
Code below for convenience...
EDIT Wrapped a LinkButton around it because I have some jquery code in here as well which stops the page execution to wait for user confirmation. Pressing "ok" continues page execution.
<asp:LinkButton ID="oDeleteLink" CssClass="oDeleteIcon" CommandName="Delete" CommandArgument='<%# Eval("iAccountID") %>' runat="server">
<asp:ImageButton ImageUrl="/files/system/icons/trash-steel-16.png" ToolTip="Delete This Account" AlternateText="Delete" ID="oDeleteIcon" runat="server" />
</asp:LinkButton>
protected void oAccounts_ItemCommand(Object Sender, RepeaterCommandEventArgs e) {
if (e.CommandName == "Delete") {
int ID = e.CommandArgument.ToString().Numeric();
db.SPs.SpDeleteAccount(ID).Execute();
UI.Confirm(uiBroadcast, "Account has been deleted", "300px");
BindAccounts();
}
}
I have an image ItemTemplate within a FormView, where the ImageUrl is the photo_file_name. However, I want to add "~/uploads/" at the begining of the photo_file_name.
Below is the code:

So for example, if the photo_file_name is Jellyfish.jpg I want it, the ImageUrl to be ~/uploads/Jellyfish.jpg without having to change the photo_file_name in the DB.
I am developing website in asp.net,I am hanging up in following problem:
I have 2 subdomains (say admin.D1.com & sms.D1.com).
For security purpose, I want to save and retrieve image files at particular folder(say Fldr1),above to both subdomains.(File should be saved and retrieved from both the subdomains)
[code].....
It gives follwing error:
"The SaveAs method is configured to require a rooted path, and the path [URL] is not rooted."
How to verify certificate from local image folder not from database
My design code is
<table style="width: 50%; border:none">
<tr>
<td>Enter Certifice No:</td>
<td>
<asp:TextBox ID="txtCertificeNo" runat="server"></asp:TextBox></td>
[Code] ....
And now I want search result using certificate no as image file name  from image folder  .
I'm trying to create a list of image buttons dynamically, but I'm having trouble displaying the images. I'm using the Directory.GetFullPath method, but I don't think its the right thing to do.I've viewed the page, and the image path is showing as
'd:Hosting6238630htmlPropertiesCedarsext%20front.jpg'. I know this isn'r right and that it needs to be something like www.annereevelettings.co.uk/property/images..., but the question is, how do I do it?The page can be seen at the following address
www.annereevelettings.co.uk/property.aspx.
Here is the code that I am using:

View 1 RepliesI have a link tag which assignes a bookmark icon to the page:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/App_Themes/Default/images/bookmark.ico" type="image/x-icon"/>
Currently, it's hard coded to the Default theme, but I want it to change based on the theme that is applied to the web app. How can I point to the current theme directory?
i am facing a prblem about image resizing.. i know it is a common problem but the scinario is little different here. i have some image in my server image directory and also have their small 128 X 128 sized thumbnail..i show a page with those images like 'facebook photo album' and also linked another page to display them..when a picture is clicked it refferd to that page and that page loads the full sized original image along with picture comments bla bla..., the page width is fixed to 1024px, and the div's width is 800px max which contains the <asp:image..../>; that shows the full sized image. here the problem comes, when a original sized picture is greater that 800px then the remaining part of the picture is croped !! i know it will happen.. that is why i planned to show a thumbnail like pic which's size will be 800px max and link the page with a pop up java script page which will contain the full sized picture only. the problem is i can't resize the picture in a limit of 800px on fly.
View 8 RepliesI am working on a job portal. I have an Organization picture that I have to Save & Retrieve . My image saving code is working perfectly. But I am dumping the images in my D drive. Now when I use
Image1.ImageUrl = @"D:DirecotyPathImage.jpg";
I does not render an image on the front end...
What can be done in this situation? And are there any alternatives to that?
I use .NET C# , I dynamically create folder to store the image I upload, ex:
strFolder = Server.MapPath("./folder/folder_"+folid+"/")
So I could create different folders according to the page unique id. I have also created a thumbnail image from the image I have upload (cropped ones).
The problem I am trying to figure out is to display these images as a slide show from these dynamically created folder (display thumbnail in the page and clicking the thumbnail need to see the full size image just like slideshow).
I was trying to see examples in jQuery but its just client side. So is there any way to load these images and display as a slide show from the directory. Should I deal with DirectoryInfo in C#? Expecting a simple one.
I have load balanced web servers My application has a function that allows the user to upload their company logo to display in the application header obviously, when they upload the logo image file, it needs to be in a central location or otherwise, the file will not be accessible to the other server on the load balancer. in order to be able to upload the image through the application other one of either servers and then display it on both servers I need a virtual directory on both servers that point to a third "file server" (this is the "AcctData" directory shown below with a sub folder "images")
If I use pass-through authentication I get a 401 error. If I use a specific user that's set up on both boxes, I get a 500 error. I've also tried sticking a Web.config file in the "AcctData" directory allowing anonymous access.
I have a page that shows a list of the files in an upload directory. ie: My customer uploads a file through my web page and the file ends up in the proper directory. When I click on a file name, the url path is missing the directory name. It's as if my customer uploaded directly to my root. Interestingly, when I upload a file through the same web page, the path remains intact and I am able to click on the link and download the file. How can I get the proper path in my url name. Here is my code .

I am using System.directory services namespace in framework 2 to query active directory. I have used fixed user account impersonisation in the web.config file, find the code:
<identity impersonate="true" userName="enterprise ang09" password="Telcome123"/>
<authentication mode="Windows"/>
I have disabled anonymous access in IIS. Also i have given Read & write access to the account tang09 for the website virtual directory and Microsoft.NET folder located in windows folder. But still i get prompted for the domain username and password to access the website.
This codes below create sub-directory, upload images, save in to database but images save in main directory (which is Albums). My concern is I want to save it into sub-directory that images uploaded..
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
<title>Upload Image</title>

<body>

View 21 RepliesI have a WCF service in a virtual directory that is called in the code behind of a page that is in the parent directory, when i debug the code i can see the wcf service is being called, however when the service calls Membership.GetUser() it alway returns null. The user has already logged in to the asp.net site. When i call the service via jquery it does pick up the correct user, but i need to be able to call it via the code behind as well. I am developing in .Net 3.5 how i can make the Wcf pick up the logged in user?
