I know how to write the query, but how do I execute it and how do I match the UserId with the current one (how do I know what the current userid is using the login controls)? I basically want to display profile information by selecting the table and matching it to the userid.

i want my web page to display data from a table, but instead of the "id" fields displayed, i want to display more meaningful field names. these are stored in other tables. my select statement is as follows:
SELECT [tblRelationship].[individual_id_1], [tblRelationship].[individual_id_2],
[tblRelationship].[relationship_type_id], [tblRelationship].[relationship_id],
[tblRelationship_Type].[relationship_type_id],

[tblIndividual].[first_name], [tblIndividual].[individual_id] FROM

Is there any way to allow page breaks to be used in a multi-line textbox control. I would like the text below to be inserted into my database, so when displayed in a label its not all in one paragraph. Ex:
some text to be inserted in <br/>
some more text to be inserted in <br/>
What I have is button that should open another page only if textbox length is 8. Javascript must be added from code because it does not simply calls the bla.aspx, it's more like bla.aspx?id=4&code=234 etc etc...
I have this code on server side
button.Attributes.Add("onclick","javascript:window.open(bla.aspx)");
on client side i have
<asp:TextBox ID="policyNumberTxt" runat="server" MaxLength="8" CausesValidation="true"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:RegularExpressionValidator ID="policyNumberTxtRev" runat="server"
ControlToValidate="policyNumberTxt" ErrorMessage="Length must be 8."
ValidationExpression="{.{8}.}" ValidationGroup="bla" Display="Dynamic"></asp:RegularExpressionValidator>
<asp:Button ID="printBtn" CssClass="button" Text="Print" runat="server" CausesValidation="true" ValidationGroup="bla" />
What happens is that when I click the button page bla.aspx opens, and even postback is trigered. Validator is showing the message, but page is opened and postback trigered.
How to handle this? Validation is broken...
I hav a report that has a table group =Fields!Location.Value
and in the cells I do this
=Avg(IIF(Fields!Contaminant.Value = "Element1", cDbl(Fields!Value.Value), cDbl(0)))
what I am getting is 1 row for each location then there is a pagebreak! what i want is the next location right below the first I looked through for all the page breaks with no luck.
I have a custom implementation of Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute which is applying a deflate/gzip filter to the response. However, on IIS7, this is failing on my "script generator" pages. These aspx pages take in Query String values and return a custom bit of script, changing the response type to text/javascript. I think it is failing because of the way iis7 uses mime types, but I'm unsure how to fix it short of turning all compressio off.
View 1 RepliesI am wondering if there is anyway to grab the html that is generated from an ASP page.I am trying to pull a table from the page,and I foolishly used a static html page so I would not have to be constantly querying the server where this page resides while I tested out my code.The javascript code I wrote to grab to unlabeled table from the page works.Then when I put it into practice with the real page and found that the ASP page does not generate a viewable page with a jquery .get request on the URL.
Is there any way to query the page for the table I need so that the ASP page returns a valid page on request?(I am also limited to using javascript and perl for this,the server where this will reside will not run php and I have no desire to learn ASP.NET to solve this by adding to the issue of proprietary software)
I want to display only single table in pop up window out of many tables present on my page. i have 3 check boxes.When user checks those check boxes and clicks on "Generate report Button" then i want to display a static table in pop up window according to the selected conditions.. these static tables are already present on the page but are hidden..so i want to make them visible and show in showModalDialog(...)"
how can i do it.???
my page is like this
checkbox1
checkbox2
checkbox3
Generate Report Button
table 1 visible=false;
table 2 visible=false;
table 3 visible=false;
I have one master page that is used to gather information from a user. It contains asp.net labels and textboxes within a table. For example, the master page contains fields for Name , Phone, Address, etc.
There are content pages that are created to add to the information that needs to be gathered. For example, the content page, Loan Application, could ask for Loan Amount, LTV, etc.
In addition to this, certain content page forms do not need to show a particular master page field. For example, the content page may not need to ask for Phone.
The table rows are stored as public properties in the master page so I can hide them in the content page code behind.
public bool HomePhoneRow
{
set { trHomePhone.Visible = value; }
get { return trHomePhone.Visible; }
}
So, in the content page code behind, I have this:
Master.HomePhoneRow = false;
The functionality works perfect, but I don't like how the space is reserved on the page. You can tell that a row was removed. I've tried style="border-collapse:collapse" on both the <table> and <tr> elements. I've also tried to set the row height as a public property and alter that.
I have seen numerous posts with this problem, however none of the solutions have worked for me. I am using asp.net 4.0 forms authentication. I have the following set in my config file.
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms loginUrl="~/Account/Login.aspx" />
</authentication>
<authorization>
<deny users="?"/>
</authorization>
The login.aspx page uses a master page and styles in a stylesheet located in a folder off the root directory called 'Styles'. I have also add the following to my config file.
<location path="~/Styles">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<allow users = "*"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
When the page displays, the login page displays with the master page content, however all of the styles are missing. When I embed styles into the master page the styles show properly, so I know the problem is that the styles are not being accessed from the file. how I can authorize access to the stylesheet?
Hardware involved:
SQL Server 2000
Microsoft Server 2003 with IIS6 [code]...
The goal, from internal department (user) perspective:A department wants to "upload" an excel spreadsheet of data (product, term, rate, etc) to SQL (this will be from the internal network). The data is then saved to a webpage location for that department to view and approve. Once "approved," this data is displayed on the live web servers (public-facing website which is two load balancing servers).
Bonus:
The .NET application/SQL Server can send an email to the department reminding them to upload the latest rates (each weekday morning, then each Thursday afternoon) if rates have not yet been "approved."
From the development perspective, this is my general idea, but I may be wrong.There are three spreadsheets, each with one tab. The first spreadsheet is uploaded, and the .NET application puts it in a SQL table. I then need to display this table of data on a .aspx page for the department to approve before the .aspx page is pushed to the live web servers.
First, I need an interface for this department to upload Excel files. I need this application to save the data to SQL and display it in a .aspx page so that the department can look it over and approve it. The department needs a way to "approve" the page, and this action will push the data to the live web servers. Will this involve SQL data transformation services?
What is the cleanest way to display a web page inside another web page. Currently I am using an I-Frame. But are there any current controls in ASP.NET to do this efficiently?

I have two tables I am using to fill a gridview. The tables have a common field named RangeActivityID. My problem is that the database is very old and some of the older entries do not match up IDs between tables, so I am unable to add an association between them in the database.
I do not care about the old data which doesn't match up, so in my .dbml file, I manually created an association in order to select good data from both tables. This is the LINQ query I have:
var collective = from p in rangeConnection.RangeActivities
orderby p.RangeActivityID
select new
{
TestName = p.TestName,
DateTime = p.ActivityDateTime,.......
I can set my grid datasource to 'collective' and everything works, but if I uncomment the three commented lines, the query returns no results because the tables have data that doesn't meet the association criteria. Is there a way to have the LINQ query ignore results that do not match up?

I am using DataList for Address Label printing in asp.net. I want to print 5 rows per page. How can I break the page after printing 5 rows in a page.
View 1 RepliesI have a list view that does something like this in the ItemTemplate:
<div><%# Eval("QualificationDescription") %></div>
My problem is that QualificationDescription has line breaks in it, if I put it in a TextBox it will display them but if I put it in a div it does not. Is there anyway to get the line breaks to show in a div?
I have a web user control with DataList control in it. In my .aspx page, I have a report header, an empty panel as a place holder, a report footer.In my .aspx.vb file, I'll loop through a list of departments. Within each department, I'll load a label to display the department name and the user control for the data, and add both the label and user control to the panel. So there are two variables:
the number of departments and the number of records in a user control.
Now I need to display the current page number and the total page number in the report footer. Is it doable? How? I'm thinking of this approach: declare a page variable count, count the number of department name labels and the number of records in a user control. When the total count reaches a number, such as 20, I'll break the page. This way, I can get the the page current number and the total number of pages. But how to add a page break to an asp.net page?
