I am getting endless loop when user logged in after some time page is displaying,
and also i ahave masterpage in that i have login button, when i clicked login buton it is not going to the redirected page, appearing in the same page but sessions are going to be assigned(there are some sessions in login button like loginID). If i presss second time login button then user logged in page is appearing. This problem is when uploaded into server, local it is working good.

May 26, 2010I need to create an application with Forms Authentication and/or Windows Authentication. If the application is set to use mixed authentication (Forms + Windows Auth) and the user don't have a Windows user account, the login will fail and he must be redirected to a forms login page. How can I do this?
Are there any different way to provide mixed authentication?

Jan 11, 2011I am using Visual Studio 2008 Express and created a login page using the ASP.net web site Adminstration tool security to generate users and passwords.
After login, a new page appears. I have a button to go back to the login page to allow a user to relogin. When I try loging in again as a different user or the same, I get an error saying the resource that I am looing for was not available.
I have a button on the page after login (one this one page will occur) and I am using on on click event to do the following:
FormsAuthentication.Initialize()
FormsAuthentication.SignOut()
Response.Redirect("~/Login.Aspx")
After clicking on this button, the Login page appears again. How can I release everyting to allow it to work like when I first open the application.

Keeping Track Of Login Attempts And Displaying The Attempt Count
Nov 12, 2010I have a login control in my login page. The user can attempt to login unsuccessfully for 5 times after that the user account will get locked and the administrator can unlock the locked user.
Here, i need to display the login attempt count along with the error message "your login attempt failed". I have tried with the viewstate but it is not working fine.

Jan 9, 2011I am using the SQLMembershipProvider for authenicating users for my web site. I would like to change the default message that is displayed when a user signs in but who's account is disabled. By default, it shows:
Your account has not yet been approved. You cannot login until an administrator has approved your account.
Is there a property for the Login control that allows me to change this message programmatically.
Web Forms :: Master Page Layout Not Displaying On Content Page?
Mar 27, 2010I am new to ASP.NET development and I am running into an issue using master/content pages. I have a master file that basically defines all of the layout for my site. The only thing that the content pages are supposed to display is some very basic text/images/html, made available by one ContentPlaceHolder control in the master file.
My problem is in the display. When I view the content page, none of the layout that should be inherited from the master page is displayed -- I end up with just a 'blank' page. What seems odd, is that if I look at the Design View in VS 2005, the content page appears to show the layout that is defined in the master. Here is a sample of the source for the master and one of the content pages...

Apr 12, 2010I am working on a web application in C#. I am using FormsAuthenticationTicket to authenticate the user. The user's information is check against a sqlserver database, if the correct credential is entered, (combine the username and password, encrypt them using the FormsAuthentication, and assign the random number generated to a session.), the users is redirected to a welcome pages.
However, I notice that there are times when I run the application, and it takes over five minutes to display the login screen, or I have to stop and start the application in order to display the login screen . Does anyone have an idea what may cause this issue?

Aug 25, 2010I have a home page that is very design-specific, down to the pixel. It needs to have username/password/login, but I can't have it showing any error messages there. There is a separate standalone login page that is not design-specific and can show any messages. It's using the standard Login control.Is there an easy way to link the two so that if an error occurs on the home page the standalone page comes up with the errors?

But now when deployed to IIS in windows 7, the login page cannot go to the default page and remain in login page after login.
I don't know why there is different behavior between these two.

Unable To Get Login Page Using Master Page To Display Styles With Forms Authentication
Dec 9, 2010I have seen numerous posts with this problem, however none of the solutions have worked for me. I am using asp.net 4.0 forms authentication. I have the following set in my config file.

The login.aspx page uses a master page and styles in a stylesheet located in a folder off the root directory called 'Styles'. I have also add the following to my config file.

When the page displays, the login page displays with the master page content, however all of the styles are missing. When I embed styles into the master page the styles show properly, so I know the problem is that the styles are not being accessed from the file. how I can authorize access to the stylesheet?

Nov 19, 2010I've a got an Asp.Net site that is using Forms authentication, I've also got custom errors configured in the web.config. One of these is a special error page for 403's (access denied). My question is how do I get Forms authentication to work smarter?
I would like Forms authentication to send users to login page only if they are not authenticated. If they are I want it to defer to the custom error pages that i've defined in the web.config. This seems like something very basic, how can this be achieved?
