Web Forms :: Embed Office Documents In Iframe?

I am developing a document reference system which has a treeview control on the left with the document titles. Once a node is clicked the corresponding document loads in an iframe to the right of the tree. Everything works perfect if the document is in pdf format but word and other office documents don't display the way the client would want. They would like the document to resize the way that the pdf's do inside the iframe.

I'm having some difficulty merging multiple word documents together using Microsoft Office Interop Assemblies (Office 2007) and ASP.NET 3.5. I'm able to merge the documents, but some of my formatting is missing (namely the fonts and images). My current merge code is shown below.

I am using <ifram> to display pdf, doc documents in my webpage through src. But, i don't want to display controls of the pdf or doc content like save search, zoom e.t.c..

i need Embed and HTML page with ASPX page ....
the html page is a simple page which include "<html><head><body> .... Some Content ....etc".
and also the aspx page is a simple also, so when the customer open "index.aspx" this will open aspx page but with HTML Content.
i dont need to use IFRAMES,
the code for asp.net will read the HTML content and put it in aspx in run time.

I'm hoping this is an easy one...I'm using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word to convert uploaded word documents into previewable html files. I haven't implemented it fully, but I've played around with it enough that I think I have a plan that will work... My question revolves around

I'm not in love with the idea of opening word and closing it everytime there's an upload (which I hope is a lot of the time) I'd like to make this a shared object that loads at application start. I have 2 questions
that go along with this. 1. I imagine that winword could lock up and that would be a problem, right? 2. to save a document I use wordapp.ActiveDocument, this could have an issue as a shared object, right? I think I'm talking myself right out of this...

I have developed a website which converts XML files to Excel and it is using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.
Is there any way I can run this application without installing Microsoft Office in the server?

I have created a web application that docks other web applications into it.When an application is docked the app creates a link button in its "tool box" on the left hand side of the page, users can easily click on any link button to navigate to the desired docked app.
I have a web app that uses iframes to display other web applications inside it. In effect it is a docking application where users can easily access many web applications from within one main app, while staying within the main app. I am having challenges dynamically resizing the iframe based on the size of the application the user is accessing.I have searched the web and tried many ideas but have yet to discover the code that will do the trick.
First, for a docking web application is the iframe the best approach? I have see some posts on ajax but am uncertain how that will help.
Second, if an iframe is the way to do it does anyone have code that will completely liminate the need for iframe scroll bars?
Note:The applications docked in the main we app may be of any size and can change size as users interact with them.

Our website application needs to open other web sites Iframe.(Our application is web based tool to help high school children to analyze the websites. It has to show news websites to in one iframe and in rest of the page there will be questions related to the news website)
But since many websites use framekiller code, these sites take control of entire page. Is there any ternative way / solution to this problem?It is necessary to be able to open other sites in our website (in iframe or any alternate way), otherwise whole concept of our application will become void.

The onclick event of the image (that shoud show the OC dropdown) is not working in this scenario: The page has OC precense indicator then a modal window that has OC precence indicator is launched. When the modal window is closed and there is no postback on the parent page, the OC dropdown of the parent page does not show when the image is clicked. The onclick event is working well if the parent page had a full postback after closing the modal window. How will I fix the onclick event issue if there is no poastback?

Im developing ecommerce website and i want to add category menu to my website. This category menu should have 2 levels for sub categories as well. I tried navigation controls in ASP.net. But still i cant understand how to create the navigation menu in order to integrate with back office. I understand that i can do this with XML file, But if i want to add new products categories or remove categories, XML file should update automatically according to that. I don't understand how to do that. In brief all i want is create category menu with subcategories and i want to control this from my back office.

i have an aspx page with one button on it the name of the page is Default.aspx
i have a physical microsoft office word file in the c drive
what i want to do is that when i press a button i open a microsoft office word located on the c drive then i add some text to it using c# code
then i want to open the file (that i edited and located in memory) in mircosoft office word to see the text that i have added
everything works fine but when i press the button i get a prompt that says do you want to open the file or save it .
questions:
so how can i directly open the file (located in memory) in microsoft office word without this prompt
also if i choose open from the prompt the file opens in the read only mode and the title of the file in the microsoft word become the name of the aspx page which is Default.aspx
so what is going wrong here

I've documents (word, pdf)Â stored in asp.net website root directory, and the path of those documents are stored in db.
I'm showing the a link button in datagrid (which contains the path of the document), now when a user clicks on the link the document must be printed in the client system.

I am loading documents into our Oracle database and then retrieving them for the users to view. So far PDF, DOC, XLS, CSV, etc. all perform as expected, however; DOCX, XLSX, etc. files have one annoyingly persistent issue. When the document is downloaded by the user and they open it you get the first in a series of messages: The file 'thefile.docx' cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents. Details: The file is corrupt and cannot be opened. and then: Word found unreadable content in 'thefile.docx'. Do you want to recover the contents of this document? If you trust the source, click Yes. After clicking yes the file opens and all of the content appears correct. Including images, formatting, tracked changeds and comments, equations, etc. I have tried multiple methods along these lines to no avail. I simply want the files to open without the false-positive error messages. I am using VS2010, with the website targeted at .Net Framework 2.0.

when I click on gif and txt file links I can see Image and content of txt file in page and their address in address bar but by clicking on swf and png files link download dialog box appear? I need to remove this type of files from htaccess and I searched and found the Equivalent of htaccess is authorization section of web.config but I don't know..I need when click link I can see file and it's address in address bar.

I've got a website that needs to create an Excel File using the Excel object library and then makes it available for download by the user.This of course works fine in my dev environment on my local machine. I getCould not load file or assembly 'office, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
The machine is running 64 bit Windows 2008 Server, and the version of office is 2003 SP3 (yes I know its old, but it does run normally). I'm thinking its a registration issue, but I don't know how to register Excel with the site in IIS 7.0.The development machine (on which everything runs fine), is an XP box. I've noticed that Excel is installed to a different path on the Server 'C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOFFICE11' as opposed to 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOFFICE11' on the XP box.

I am trying to figure out if the disclaimer below still applies to the .NET Framework 4.0:Microsoft does not currently recommend, and does not support, Automation of Microsoft Office applications from any unattended, non-interactive client application or component (including ASP, ASP.NET, DCOM, and NT Services), because Office may exhibit unstable behavior and/or deadlock when Office is run in this environment.
I was under the impression that the new version of the Framework uses some magic to avoid PIA deployment and somehow one is allowed to manipulate Interop objects ... I do not know enough to figure this on my own. The simple question is: is it possible to open an Excel workbook from within an ASP.NET page, change something in it, save it and do not blow anything in the process?

I have an ASP web Applicaton using C# that runs great on my local host where I can access the documents via Fully qualified path (e.g., C://MyProjects/MyProject/File.xls).However once I publish this to a server (and it is a virtual server) I can no longer provide a fully qualified path name I can only give something like (//server/project/File.xls - which is the path I publish to) and it doesn't like this at all. First it doesn't publish the documents to the server even though I added them to my project. So I put them on the server manually and even tried adding the documents as embedded resources but that doesn't allow me to edit and open them as needed. This is really a pain. Why can I not just put them in the file path and access them using "File.xls" like I used to in the old days? I don't like this change at all. It should not take me a day to figure out how to access a document on a server.
