That's my C# code but i the "ReportViewer1.LocalReport.Render("PDF", null, out mimeType, out encoding, out filenameExtension, out streamids, out warnings);" came in error everytime i try to generate the report. Can you show me the way so i can view the pdf from the browser or save the pdf from the browser?

Mar 29, 2010As we all know, the report viewer control has an export to pdf option. But whenever the report is exported to pdf,the format gets disturbed. If my report has about 3 colums like empID,name,phone etc.... then empid and name come in 1st page of pdf and phone comes in next page of pdf. That means the columns are getting divided into pages. Where as, in general, the no of rows/data may come in several pages but columns should fit into one page.

Jan 8, 2011I am using VS 2010, Web application with .net 4, I downloaded Crystal report from the website that Microsoft suggests. I added a crystal report to my web page, dragged a CrystalReportViewer, and a button.
I put in the button_click the following code:
ReportDocument cryRpt;
cryRpt = new ReportDocument();
cryRpt.Load("C:\Users\Yazan\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\WebSites\WebSite17\CrystalReport.rpt");
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = cryRpt;
CrystalReportViewer1.RefreshReport();
So it is obvious that when the button is clicked, the CrystalReportViewer appears (showing the Crystal Report I already created). when the export button (that is already exists in the toolbar of the CrystalReportViewer) is clicked, a window is poped up letting me choose the type of format that I want to export to, and specify which pages of the report I want to export. When I click the export button, the page is postback, and the CrystalReportViewer disappeared, and I god my old web page (without CrystalReportViewer) containing the following message: "Failed to export using the options you specified. check your options and try again." Note that this error happens for all types of file format to export to (pdf, doc...)
VS2008 CR Report Viewer Print And Export To PDF Is Not Working?
Mar 28, 2010I've a web project in VS2008. The problem is that from a web report viewer; report is not getting printed or exported to pdf. Report is being shown alright but when print button or export button is pressed, nothing happens. No errors or crash. Just nothing got happened. Default printer is set alright and I am able to print from that machine.. Am I missing some thing here? Earlier when I installed the application in a new virtual directory report was not getting shown then I've copied aspnet_Client folder in my newly created web application root and the report was then made visible. However the print and export functionality is not working.

Apr 12, 2010 I have a web application that contains some reports using Microsoft ReportViewer (Version 8.0). They have been working fine on my local machine with Visual Studio 2005 installed.
But in my hosting the export option does not work neither print button (the show print button is true). Also the page next and previous page options not work.

Feb 12, 2010I have an ASP.Net (.Net 2.0) application that creates Crystal Reports (version 11.5) and shows them with CrystalReportViewer control. For some reason the control isn't showing the logo image in the header of the report. It renders the following html

Jan 8, 2010Report viewer from SQL reporting services in VS 2008 report control If I create a new report in VS 2008 they have a .rdlc extension and work correctly.
I have some reports that I was using in SQL reporting services. Extensions are .rdl and want to get them to work with VS 2008.
I copied the rdl files and the .rdl.data files over to VS 2008 (SP1) project but when I go to select the report in the control it does not see the file (I assume it is looking for a .rdlc file)
I tried rename the file to .rdlc and loaded the file up and got
The report definition has an invalid target namespace [URL] which cannot be upgraded.

"RDL files are fully compatible with the ReportViewer control runtime. However, RDL files do not contain some information that the design-time of the ReportViewer control depends on for automatically generating data-binding code. By manually binding data, RDL files can be used in the ReportViewer control."

Dec 14, 2010I have already created a report in SSRS 2008. I'm using the Report Viewer to view it. I have one Report Parameter which is a list of usernames. I'd like to programatically select a particular value from that list.
So for instance, user: sdsmith goes to the page. The webpage will grab that username, check it against the list in ReportParameter1, then set the value of ReportParameter1 to sdsmith if it's found in the list.

Apr 24, 2010From my testing, it appears that the order of parameters for the UpdateParameters must match both the order of the bound fields on the form (asp:Formview), and the order of the parameters in the UpdateCommand. Is that correct? If so, why do the parameters have names if all that matters is the order? I tried both asp:ControlParameter and asp:Parameter. Maybe the more relevant question is why aren't the names used instead of the order, particularly for the form order?
So, given I display the Identity field (CID), and need that for the update, I cannot get the update to work without including it in the UpdateCommand. Of course, since it is an autonumber field in Access, I cannot actually set it. So, I had to add another field to the db (lngUpdateCID) that I could set. That can't be how it has to be done, but I could not figure out another way to do this.

It is bound to an object datasource from my BLL (FDWelds)The second object datasource is bound to the control, dropdownlist.
In the Method FDWelds objectdatasource has a parameter @Area_AreaID, and the RDLC report has a parameter called @Area_AreaID. If I set the default in the RDLC, I can display a textbox in the report showing the default parameter, but a. It doesn't actually filter the report and b. No matter what I change in the drop down box, I can never change the parameter.I have looked online, and see lots of coding to make this work, but is there just not a simple way to bind these?If you can show me a link to where to code works with a .BLL I would be so grateful ...
