I have a page where i enter the number of members i need to add now suppose i chose 3 so on next page i have get a display like member1 enter details(name, address, phone etc) just below that again member2 enter details(name, address, phone etc) and member3 enter details(name, address, phone etc)in short the no of forms displayed in a page depends on the no of member an user want to add and on submitting the data's of 3(no. provided by the user)member has to be inserted. As i am a rookie to asp.net its hard for me to imagine the logic and implementing them, what to do about tose textfied id's? how to generate the id's and how to separate the codes in .cs and .aspx etc
View 3 RepliesI want to generate a unique random number everytime a user submits a form. As the form is submited the data of the form should be placed in a database and a unique random number should be generated so that the user can later use this unique random number to reterieve his details from the database that refer to his unique random id. The unique random number should be atleast 9 digits long.

View 3 RepliesI need to generate a Unique Reference number that has 7 digits.
It should be formatted in the following way:
1st: B (Ball), G (Gift), C (Cat)
2nd: represents year of booking A(2010), B(2011),C(2012), etc
3rd: represents the month of booking J(Jan),F(Feb),M(Mar),A(Apr),Y(May), U(Jun), L(Jul),G(Aug), S(Sep),O(Oct),N(Nov),D(Dec)
4th: days of booking A(1st) - Z(26th), 1(27th) - 5(31st)
5,6,7th: These are counters for the number issues each day. Each can be A-Z,0-9 giving a total of 46,656 combinations. So 0 is first, then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A-Z, then 00 to 0Z, then 10 to 1Z, then 20 to 2Z, etc
Now , the 1st Digit is a Character that I generate based on a condition and that shouldn't be a problem.

View 11 RepliesI have to generate a unique customer code like this-
'cbd'+first letter of customer name+incrementer
here
cbd is hard coded means reamain fixed in each customer code first letter of cust_name is like
Bell Companies- B
and incrementer must be four digit number like 0001,0002,0888 etc.
Here incrementer
should start with 0001 for each customer means for EX-
BELL COMPANIES - CBDB0001
then it should increment for customers having name started with B
TEL POWERS- CBDT0001
then it should increment for customers having name started with T

Example site: [UL] In the left hand part of the page(refine result pane), how can I produce links/list like that? What control is used in that?? I know it has to use the data queried on the first page.

View 1 RepliesI would like to generate my links automatically via a static class in each of my aspx pages (or in a common BasePage).Currently I use this:
private const string TEMPLATE =
"~/One.aspx";
public static string Link ()
(
string link = String.Format(TEMPLATE);
return link;
)
But the name of my page, One.aspx is hardcoded. Is it possible to generate the path instead of this hardcoded constant TEMPLATE. You should know that I do not instantiate the class before creating the link.
I have a web page that loads in user-defined text from a database field into a label. This text may or may not contain HTML links (standard <a href> tags). I need a way to enumerate through the links and enable/disable certain links based on whether or not the person viewing the page is logged in or not (via a session variable).The html tags include a runat=server attribute and the text is standard formatted HTML. Since the text is being loaded into a label straight from the database, the links aren't loaded into the controls collection for the form - so, I'm not able to reference the links that way.
View 1 RepliesI am generating a unique Ref number using this sql statement: SELECT REPLACE(STR(CAST(CAST(NEWID() AS binary(5)) AS bigint),12),0,0) as REF Subsequently, I need to insert this REF into sql database table in stored procedure. Here is what I did in my stored procedure:
USE [iBankRecords]
GO
/****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[stp_addPayee] Script Date: 07/05/2010 21:57:07 ******/
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
ALTER PROC [dbo].[stp_addPayee]
(
@CUSTID char(10),
@PAYEEACCNUM nvarchar(20),
@PAYEEACCTYPE char(10) ,
@PAYEENAME char(20),
@PAYERINITIAL char(20),
)
AS
DECLARE
@ReturnValue int
INSERT INTO PAYEE (CUSTID, PAYEEACCNUM,PAYEEACCTYPE,PAYEENAME,PAYERINITIAL, REF)
VALUES (@CUSTID,@PAYEEACCNUM,@PAYEEACCTYPE,@PAYEENAME,@PAYERINITIAL, REF)
IF @@ERROR<>0
BEGIN
PRINT 'ERROR'
SET @ReturnValue=1
RETURN @RETURNVALUE
END
ELSE
BEGIN
SET @ReturnValue=0
RETURN @RETURNVALUE
END
May I know how do I have generating a unique ref num and inserting the REF into the above statement?

Let's say I passed a couple of querystring to populate my datalist on another page. Then I want to filter/refine that datalist further by clicking on links( which are dynamically created depending on the data on the datalist) and when clicked will pass another querystring to create a new refined datalist.
Example: I clicked on a link that redirects to [URL], a datalist will be produced on another page. Then there is are link on the same page that go to [URL], [URL], then another datalist will be produced. how to code these links, what I have in mind is link (4), link (10). The numbers represent how many records it will display if that link is clicked.
when I click 'create new site' link/button it will redirect me to some page and ask me some questions related to that site which I am about to create .. At the moment it display me question and for input their respective control like to choosing category it display me drop down list ... for business name textbox is displayed. and so on ...
So my question is how can I do the same task ? that is what ever the question is their respective control is displayed for getting information ..
I Have this code in my page, and I want that every NavigateUrl display another page like : simple.aspx? id=1, simple.aspx?id=2, ...

View 3 RepliesNot sure if the derived page is actually relevant to the problem here, but ran into an interesting gotcha on some code I'm working through at the moment.
I have a custom masterpage class, which derives from System.Web.UI.MasterPage so that it can be extended with additional useful properties. The page that that uses this masterpage has a declaration at the top (note the Page Title being set).
<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/MasterPages/Landing.master" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Index.aspx.cs" Inherits="Index" Title="Welcome to the site" %>
In addition, the master page has stylesheet references in the head which are pulled from a CDN that is defined in a config file.
<head id="Head1" runat="server">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<%= CDN %>/css/main.css" />
</head>
Now the example above obviously doesn't work, because the runat attribute in the head container means that the codeblock in the the link is static text, and renders as is, in the resulting html.
If I remove the runat attribute from head, the CDN works, but now I notice that the Title is no longer being set. If I debug, and try to access Page.Title in the Immediate Window, I get an exception:
// Using the Title property of Page requires a header control on the page. (e.g. <head runat="server" />).
So, is there a way to get the Page Title from the declaration, put my own title placeholder in the head and set it from the master page code-behind, or, is there a better way to dynamically set the CDN domain for the stylesheets? The only way I think I can do that is to build the entire html link tag(s) and append it to the header control, but I thought there might be a more elegant solution, so I'm asking here first.
