Web Forms :: Getting Tags In The Page's Element?
Aug 3, 2010
I need to enumerate through all of a page's client-side script tags that are children of the head element. I initially tried looking through the HtmlHead.Controls collection, but the script tags are absent. How can I go about getting at them?

I am reading the "TEXT" string from a SP that could contain up to a million char. It's a clob field. After the HTML converstion, the "TEXT" field could have no closing HTML bracket. I want to look for the last </P> and then add the remaining characters to "TEXT2".

I have a number of .aspx pages inheriting from a common master page. I need to insert <meta> tags into the master page and this varies from page to page. What is easiest and fastest way to get this done. The thing is, my site is already developed so I dont want to rework/rewrite any of the code.

It seems that when I create a style element in the content page the style from the master is disgarded.So my question is, how can i have a css style specific to the master page carried over into content pages and how can I have content page specific css style at the same time?

I want to redirect to login page,when session is timedout. Here is the link i am following [URL] ...
For example: If i am in the page called http://localhost/RealWebApp/Dashboard/RealProfile.aspx

I am building a forum and I want to use forum-style tags to let the users format their posts in a limited fashion.Currently I am using Regex to do this.As per this question:How to use C# regular expressions to emulate forum tags. The problem with this,is that the regex does not distinguish between nested tags.Here is a sample of how I implemented this method:
public static string MyExtensionMethod(this string text){return TransformTags(text);}
private static string TransformTags(string input)
{string regex = @"[([^=]+)[=x22']*(S*?)['x22]*](.+?)[/(1)]";
MatchCollection matches = new Regex(regex).Matches(input);
for (int i = 0; i < matches.Count; i++)
var tag = matches[i].Groups[1].Value;
var optionalValue = matches[i].Groups[2].Value;
var content = matches[i].Groups[3].Value;
Now,if I submit something like [quote] This user posted [quote] blah [/quote] [/quote] it does not properly detect the nested quote.Instead it takes the first opening quote tag and puts it with the first closing quote tag.Do you guys recommend any solutions?Can the regex be modified to grab nested tags?Maybe I shouldn't use regex for this?

I got this errors while trying to use an example from the ASP.NET 3.5 Unleashed book.
Webform1.aspx
[Code]....
LengthValidator.cs
[Code]....
As from the book's note, I think I added this line correctly:
[Code]....
However, the compiler kept complaining that:

All I want to do is access the <body> element from the code-behind of a content page and add a class name to it.
I have a top-level master page with the <body> element in it. Then I have a nested master page which is the master page for the content page. From the code behind of the content page I want to add a class name to the body element. That's all.
I have this in the top-level master:
<body id="bodyNode" runat="server">
I added this to the code-behind for the content page:
Master.bodyNode.Attributes.add("class", "home-page");
And I get a message that:
System.Web.UI.MasterPage' does not contain a definition for 'bodyNode
If I add this to the aspx content page:
<% @ MasterType VirtualPath="~/MasterPage.master"%>
The message then changes to:
bodyNode is inaccessible due to its protection level
I've wasted like 2 hours on what feels like something that should be really simple to do

I'm looking at an asp.net application, i notice that there are assemblies defined into two places. In web.config there is configuration/system.web/compilation/assemblies/add elements. In the project file there are references setup under the Project/ItemGroup/Reference elements.
I was wondering, what is the difference between assemblies/references added in either location?

I have noticed that when I create a website in a network drive and use the Ajax toolkit I get :
Element 'ToolkitScriptManager' is not a known element
I also noticed that after adding the ToolkitScriptManager it doesn't add the ID in the source code, it looks like this:
<asp:ToolkitScriptManager runat="server"></asp:ToolkisScriptManager>
Is missing the ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" part.
This doesn't happen when I create the site in my local drive. Is there a workaround to this. Even if I add the missing parts, I keep getting the same error.

Is there a way to apply your own CSS tags to <li> tags when using ASP .NET 4.0 menu control? For example, say I have an external style sheet that has tags "class1", "class2", "class3", and etc. I want to apply "class1" to the first menu item. Then if menu item is selected, I want to apply "class2" and if it's not selected, "class3". I played with various 'Static' styles, but just can't get it work. I finally gave up and created my own menu control that extends ASP .NET menu control and provides my own custom rendering. This works, but I'm wondering if there is a way to get it work with built-in menu control.
