Web Forms :: GridView - How To Fill The Blank Rows With Alternate Color

Dec 27, 2010

I am having a gridview with alternative color i have used AlternatingRowsDefaultCellStyle. however, if my grid is not fullyfilled, ie the grid view page size is 20 and i have only 10 records in that page then the alternate row color will not apply for blank rows. My question is, How can I fill the blank rows with alternate color as well.

Hope there is some solution without adding empty rows at the end of the datasoure which will create problems while sorting the grids.

Alternate Row Color In A GridView Using Pure CSS?

Mar 9, 2010

I want to alternate rowcolor in a GridView, using pure CSS, ie: I don't want to use asp.net themes; I'd rather not have to use jQuery, or define define AlternatingRowStyle-BackColor on each gridview (unless there's a reason I must). Here's my CSS (that isn't working):

.gridView {font-size:11px
}
.gridView tr:nth-child(even) {background-color: #FFF}
.gridView tr:nth-child(odd) {background-color: #FFCC00}
.gridView tr:nth-child(even) td {background-color: #FFF}
.gridView tr:nth-child(odd) td {background-color: #FFCC00}

(I included the .gridView {font-size:11px} just to confirm I am using the proper CssClass.) Is this not possible, or am I doing something wrong.

Gridview Column Color Doesn't Fill Entire Box

Jan 25, 2011

I have a gridview with certain boxes that are highlighted in green. These boxes should fill the entire box, but I can't seem to trash this 1px border around the edges. I'm using IE7, but FF does it too.

Rendered html

Update

Changed the Serial# template's itemstyle and it fixed the problem.

<ItemStyle Font-Size="Smaller" CssClass="NoMargin NoPadding" />

Forms Data Controls :: Fill In The Color Beneath The Line Of A StepLine MS Chart?

Jul 14, 2010

I need to create a chart, preferably using MS Chart Controls, that looks like a stepline chart with the exception that color has to be filled in under the line. An area chart won't block off values like a stepline chart (it creates a direct, or curved, line from one point to another). An area chart does fill in the color the way I would like it to be but I want a stepline effect. What I guess I want is a StepArea chart. I would imagine that it should be possible but I haven't been able to configure it the way I want. how I can do this?

Forms Data Controls :: Change The CSS Class Of The Row - Unexpected GridView Alternate Row

Jan 21, 2010

I'm trying to change the CSS class of the row that is in edit mode. I've managed to get it working, but it only works for alternate rows. I'm totally stumped as to what could be causing it to behave like that. I've attached what I think is the relevant code below

[Code]....

protected void grdList_RowCreated(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{
e.Row.CssClass = "row";
}
if (e.Row.RowState == DataControlRowState.Edit)
{
e.Row.CssClass = "rowEdit";
}
}
.grdView tr.row:hover
{
background-color: #999999;
font-weight:bold;
}
.grdView tr.editRow
{
background-color: #999999;
font-weight:bold;
}
.rowEdit
{
background-color: #999999;
font-weight:bold;
}
.grdView .row .edit, .grdView .row .delete
{
display:none;
}
.grdView tr.row:hover td .edit, .grdView tr.row:hover td .delete
{
display:inline;
}

ADO.NET :: Generating Blank Rows On OnCreated In Another Table?

Nov 27, 2010

I am using Linq to create a schedule, which includes columns for creation date, modified date, isSubmited, UserId. Anytime that the schedule is created, I would like to automatically add rows to the ScheduleDays table, which has columns for scheduleId, date, etc.

Currently, I am trying to extend the OnValidate method as follows:

Partial Public Class Schedule
Private Sub OnValidate(ByVal action As System.Data.Linq.ChangeAction)
Dim day As New ScheduleDay[code]....

This code does not work. Rather, I do not even think that it is getting executed. And if it is, it is not adding the scheduleDays to the database, with their specified values. I get no error message, or anything.Is there a better method to extend, instead of OnValidate? Since, there could still be errors with the Schedule being created. Also, is there anything else in my code that is preventing it from running?

C# - SqlDataAdapter.Fill(DataTable) Returns No Rows?

Feb 7, 2011

I am trying to use a SqlDataAdapter to fill a DataTable, which I use as a data source to a DataGrid. The query is fine, at least when I run it manually in SSMSE. When I do the fill operation, the table gets the right columns, but no rows. The most frustrating part of this is that the code is identical (with a different query) on a different page. I cannot post the query, but my initialization code looks like this:

SqlCommand areaDAC = new SqlCommand (areaQuery, connection);
areaDAC.Parameters.Add (new SqlParameter ("@param", System.Data.SqlDbType.NVarChar, 50));
m_areaDataAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter (areaDAC);

Then to use it:

m_areaDataAdapter.SelectCommand.Parameters["@param"].Value = "Filter Val";
DataTable table = new DataTable ();
m_areaDataAdapter.Fill (table);

At this point, table has the right number of columns and no rows. I know the parameters are being added correctly, I know that data exists for the given query.

Update (as provided by Nik in a comment):

overflow: auto;
height: 215px;
overflow-x: hidden;
}
thead tr {

When I have a list with 1 or 2, rows the row height automaticaly expand to fill the heigt of the table.

How can I avoid this happening, and have fixed height colimns.
