I have a Masterpage which contains two contentpalceholder, first one for a Usercontrol and second one for my web forms.
Now I want to change the usercontrol's property of sqldatasource from out side of usercontrol such as some web forms. Can I access objects of usercontrol from the other web forms or masterpage?
I have a usercontrol (ascx) with a DropDownList placed on a MasterPage. It has AutoPostBack=true. I created a SelectedIndexChanged event for the dropdown on the usercontrol, but it does not fire when seleted item changes. The PostBack fires and both current page as well as MasterPage are reloaded but the SelectedIndexChanged is not fired. How can this event be trapped?

I've got the following Setup in my Theme:
App_ThemesDefaultStyleSheet.css
App_ThemesDefaultPrintStyleSheet.css
The PrintStyleSheet.css file has a set of printing css rules set in them wrapped in an @Media Print { } block.
I need a way to programmatically remove the PrintStyleSheet.css from the list of css files for ASP.NET to inject based on some flags. (Some instances we want to print the site verbatim without custom formatting).
I know i could build a seperate theme without the PrintStyleSheet.css in it and switch the theme programmatically, however this would introduce duplication of my master stylesheet which is not acceptable.
I have a main page with some buttons on it.If the user clicks on a button, a frame is created in the center and a order (web)form is shown.At the end of the form, when the order is placed, I want to close the frame somehow.What would be the best way to do this?If I do a redirect on the page that is in the frame, it just opens the main page in the frame, which isn't what I'm looking for of course.

I clicked a button in the usercontrol.aspx but i hope can fire event at default.aspx. The means that i hope when i click a button at usercontrol page and call an event at default.aspx. I have 2 buttons on a page. 1 does some calculations once data is entered the other, which is at the top clears the page and opens a new one to enter an estimate number and once that is done it opens the calculation page where the 2 buttons are. What is now happening is once the user enters a percent value to do the calculation they just press enter, instead of tab, and it activates the new estimate number button instead of calcualte button. All works in the correct tab order but the default button seems to be the New Estimate button instead of the Calcualte button. any way to change that?
View 1 RepliesMy site was working fine in Visual Studio 2008, but the code-behind pages have suddenly stopped recognising new controls which I add to the main page. For example I added a label with id 'lblEventHeader' to the main page and then tried to set a text property in the Page_Load event. I get a compile error of "the name 'lblEventHeader' does not exist in tne current context. Existing controls, which I added before this problem seems to be unaffected.
As far as I am aware, I have not done anything which should cause this. I have even reinstalled Visual Studio, but I still get the same error message. Have I inadvertently deleted or corrupted a reference file. I have checked the Codefile and Inherits properties of the page.

I know how to bind a simple objects to a dropdown list. However I am having problems binding my objects which contains sub objects to the control.i.e. with simple object i just do ddl.DataValueField = "myproperty"
with my objects they contains sub objects which i want to bind. I have tried ddl.DataValueField = "sub-object.myproperty" which doesnt work.

View 4 RepliesI'm trying to dynamically change the look of my main master page depending on what nested master page that the current content page is using .
So for example.
Main master page = main.master
My nested page = nested.master (uses main.master)
content page = content.aspx (uses nested.master)
So in the Page_Load event of main.master I want to add a switch statement that will check to see what nested master page is currently being used by content.aspx, or whatever content page is loaded.
So far I have got

I have a stripped down log in form on the top of each page, user/pass box and buttom, no keep me log in or error messages. If the user enters the right credetians he is log in and user name shows up instead of log in form; if he enters the wrong info, nothing happens.
Now, I want it to happen is that if the user enters the wrong credetians, and he doesnt get log in, he is redirect to the full Log In page.
