Mar 6, 2011
I have a stripped down log in form on the top of each page, user/pass box and buttom, no keep me log in or error messages. If the user enters the right credetians he is log in and user name shows up instead of log in form; if he enters the wrong info, nothing happens.
Now, I want it to happen is that if the user enters the wrong credetians, and he doesnt get log in, he is redirect to the full Log In page.
I'm trying to develop a simple web application where I need to redirect to main.aspx after successful login attempt in login.aspx page. However,it is redirecting the page to defualt.aspx... Is there a way to redirect my application to main.aspx??
I have a strange problem in my website. When I log out from the site and try to type the URL of the main page (first page after login) it shows it as logged in, While other pages are ok, Also when I refresh this main page it returned to the login pageI tried to ways of log in and log out (FormAuthentication & Seasons)
I have a simple online store where there are products that can be put into a cart and purchased. There is a admin page that can be logged into so that new products can be added or existing products can be removed or edited. To get to the admin area I need to put a /admin/index after the main page loads up. If I want to give my friends (from any location) the ability to add new products should I create a link to the admin area on the main page (like at the bottom) of the main page or should I just tell them to type in /admin/index after they go to the webpage?
In my MASTER.PAGE I have placed an Accordion Extender. If I click on the HEADER, I want to open the Accordion and redirect to another ASPX.Page, which is a child of the MASTER. How can I do this? If have already placed HyperLinks inside the Headers like this:
[Code]....
The first problem is, that Product2.aspx is only loaded, if I click exactly the Link. If I click somewhere else in the Header, the accordion will expand but the Link is not fired. The next thing is, if I click exactly on the Link, the new page is loaded, but the Accordion is set back to the default view (first AccordionPane is expanded) Is there a way to get this done?
My masterpage has a loginStatus control to let users log out and it works very well on normal pages .Recently, I created a new content page associated with the mentioned master page. Such new page allows users to add textboxes dynamically through ajax asycpostback. Unfortunately, loginstatus right now fails to work when i click it. I traced the process and i found out that the loggingout event was not fired when i click it.
I follow this video to make such "Dynamically add control" page.
i have login page that i use captcha image but i want if user login fail for 3 times append this captcha to login page so user must enter content of captcha image to login.how can i do that?

I am working on a government site and am having some problems with my local security policy interferring with my web application. There is a setting called "System cryptography: Use FIPS 140 compliant cryptographic algorithms, including encryption, hashing and signing algorithms" which is enabled on my server.
Since that has been enabled, most of my aspx pages are returning the error "This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms." These pages aren't accessing any cryptographic methods. They do communicate with another database server, but that's it.
My problem is similar to the one described here. However, I don't have the option of disabling this FIPS security setting.
I am using .NET 4.0, IIS 7.0, and Windows Server 2008 R2, if that matters. Has anyone encountered this problem before?
Update
Unfortunately, correcting the machine key element to use a FIPS compliant algorithm did not completely solve my problem. I am still getting the error on alot of my pages.
I found two hotfixes which may be related. I will try to install these and see what happens.

I am Creating a Webapplication. In that i kept Login options where users can login. Some users access the data without login. I want when user want to access without login it should redirect to login page.
I got a role call "Staff", staff registration is done by admin so when creating a new staff only need their name, user name, password and e-mail. After registering, i wan to redirect the staff to the creating profile page to input their contact number and self-description which is a must for later use. For first time login staff, how do i compare and see if the contact and description profile is empty or not? If it is empty, then redirect to the create profile page, else just go to staff page.
I trying to do like making each different role redirect to their own page once they had login. For now when the user login they will remain in the same page showing the login template. How do i do that?
we would like to redirect the user to a given page if the authentication to our SharePoint site fails (i.e. the standard windows login prompt pops up three times - we are using windows authentication). No matter what option we try it always ends up bringing the user back to a blank page.
We have tried writing a HttpModule (and catch the if Response.StatusCode = 401), which doesn't seem to fire any events if the user is not authenticated. We have tried writing a HttpHandler, but of course we can redirect the user if there is an error code but can't continue onto the desired site if not. We have tried doing the following in the web.config:
I would like to redirect the user to default page if he tries to copy paste an URL to browser. Like if i copy the url [URL] and paste it in the browser it should refirect me to default page.
I have created login for site. I am using "UserLogin.ascx" which is placed in masterpage. Now I have to create the Login system so that the users from other sites login to my site through Http post or Get. I have created the page for sending "HTTP Post" to my site and it also login to my site, but when I click on any link it logs out also in the browser's address bar the URL of the previous site is shown.
FileUpload works OK on my local site. When I moved my web application to a web host server, I tested to upload a file with this application, It's OK to upload file to the server before login. But after login, the FileUpload kept redirecting to login page without uploading.
I am using a thrid party website for a service. I transfer control and data to an external URL provided by the service provided. Once the service provider processes the data, it transfers the results and control back to a page in my website. I would like to allow only the service provided URL/page to redirect to my website. Is there any way to do this?
I am using hidden variables on a form and a button control with the PostBackUrl attribute set to the service provier URL, to submit the data and control to the external webpage. Will Service Variables help me achieve the above objective?
I have a web application where all the pages inherit from a base class, where i have written some methods common to all pagesHere is the code i have written for logout event.
My expectation is once the user logs out and if he tries to access any url directly by typing in the browser he should be redirect to login page. But this is not happening now. I have checked the session. it is getting cleared properly while logout. But the user is take in to the screen. How can i fix this? I am looking for something which i can write in the base class so thati need to have to write the same in all the pages. Also this should work in the case of login page(it should not redirect to login page again if try to access login page once user logs out. please not login page also inherits base class).
I have an option in my website to logout from session and redirect to login page. So I get redirected and if I try to login again it seems like it tries to redirect me to login page over and over, until I click some page in menu and login and it does works. so, doesn't the login control always redirect to same DestinationPageUrl? here the logout code:
When the user clicks a button and the user has been inactive for too long (session is gone), then redirect the user to the login page and back to the current page after logging in?
Is there a built in solution to this or do I have to do it manually? If so, how?
I am in the process of designing application in case user authentication if failed i need to redirect to default page (NT Authentication). Is there any way you can redirect the user on IIS if the user is fail go through the NT authenticaiton at IIS level.Options 1 : Always land the user to defalut page and validate there and redirect to site based on the access give the directory level access. I am looking if there any options to let the user to default page in case user access is denied.
After session expired i want to show warning page and then it should redirect to login page. In my warning page user can wait 10 seconds without clicking login attempt .
Is there a tutorial on how to redirect user to a specific web page based on his/her role? For example, I have teacher role and student role. When the teachers login, it will redirect the teacher to the teacher web page and the students redirected to the student web page.
Currently, when the authorization fails, it redirects to the login page by default. However if the user is logged in, it makes no sense to be redirected to the login page. I would like it to be redirected to an eror page instead.
