I have a problem which i can not figure it out on my own, because i do not know where to look. Here's a brief description of my problem;
I have a treeview on my aspx page, when user clicks on one node, i read an html code ( such as <html> <body> sample page</html> ) from database and i just want to show this html content on the same page, say that on the right side of the treeview.
I have used freetextbox control for letting the user to input some html enabled articles.
A treeview on the right side -> (Users selects one node) -> HTML content created on the right side.
I need to add the dynamic dropdown on content page from content page itself,i have tried the below code its throwing error object instance property cannot be null.
protected void Page_PreInit(object sender, EventArgs e) { //Create a Dynamic Panel Panel pnlDropDownList; pnlDropDownList = new Panel(); pnlDropDownList.ID = "pnlDropDownList";

How to create dynamic page in asp.net c#? in this task ... user when click on create page button. he write name of page . and simple click create page.
Problem: Content Page with Wizard Control with UpdatePanel and Placeholder. Above the UpdatePanel is a DropDownList. I need to display different input controls below the drop-down list when the user changes the selection in the drop-down list. When the user clicks 'Next' on the wizard control, I need to be able to get the data out of those dynamic controls as well.
I know all the dynamic controls have to be created in the OnInit method in order to get the data back from those controls during the postback. However, when the drop-down list's SelectedIndexChanged event is fired, the OnInit method is called... then the PageLoad... and finally the handler for the SelectedIndexChanged event is called. ViewState hasn't been restored until well after the OnInit & PageLoad methods have been called, so there is no way to know what the user chose in the list box at the time OnInit is called... which exactly when I'm required to create the dynamic controls.
the possible options to get the dynamic web pages. Existing application: We have windows application to desing the "Screen designer templates". The end user uses this application to make his own screen templates, save the information in xml and get the screen in run time. This works fine for windows based application. Current Problem: Its difficult to provide such screen designer application in web. I mean Drag & drop the controls in web page during the run time. So we are planning to use windows application to design the template. And during the run time user should get his own designed template on web page. We are trying to display the similar web form like as windows form with matching controls. let me know what are the options available to solve this problem.
My project has the following repeater menu shown on the Master Page. I need this menu to remain hidden until the user logs in. How do I access from content page?
I have a teacher-student concept, in which I want that whenever a student login he/she will get a pop up made by his/her teacher. My issue is this I want to give an interface to teacher that he can design his own html page and assign is to all student or a particular student[i.e. he can made different html pop up for different student].
How can I design a interface in which teacher can create a html page.
I'm trying to create an ASP.NET MVC master page so the site navigation on it will look like this:
Main Menu:Home | About | News Sub Menu: Home_Page1 | Home_Page2
The Sub Menu section should always show sub-menu for the currently selected Main Menu page (on the example above 'Home' page is selected) unless a user hovers the mouse on another Main Menu item (then it shows that item's sub-menu instead).
I have an application that needs to render a page that will have multiple Radio Button Groups as well as multiple CheckBoxes. The desired layout is determined by a database table.
This table defines a "Package". The "Package" can contain many different "Items" that require different controls used in the View. The "RadioGroupName" field is used to mark which RadioButtons should be grouped together. The "ViewControl" field marks which control should be used on the View to display the field. The query in my repository will return a result set such as
Given this result set, I need to render the view as follows:
A RadioButton group with 3 options (Item1, Item2, Item3) A CheckBox (Item4) A CheckBox (Item5) A RadioButton group with 3 options (Item6, Item7, Item8)
I have read that it is possible to use "if" conditions and looping structures inside the View. I have also read that this is a bad practice. Another issue I see is knowing which Item has been selected from each RadioButton group when I hit the Controller POST function. Previously I have built a page that has a single RadioButton group. My ViewModel was as follows:
I've got a number of MasterPages with ContentPlaceHolders. I do not know how much Placeholders are on the MasterPage. Now i want to load Content to the PlaceHolder, id the ContentPlaceHolder exists. When i use the this.Master.FindControl the MasterPage renders and the added Content would not be rendered. See: [URL] Soo I tried two posibilities of adding the content:
[Code]....
Second way:
[Code]....
The first way seems to be the faster way. But which is the "better" way? Would any of this make any problems?
I am learning ASP .NET and I want to understand the workflow when working with dynamic data. For a basic page structure: header, menu, content panel, I would like to use the content panel to display data ( a profile like page ) I have in a database base on the user selection in a menu control. What I want to find out is how do I implement that content panel part so that it gets built dynamically. What is the best practice for this creating custom controls for every dynamic section of the page? Do I need to create my own ContentPanel user control? Or is there a way to take that <div> andinject content in it at runtime?
I am having asp:hyperlinks in my master page, which i use as my page headers. I would just like to change the text format of the hyperlink when a content page is loaded.
the CS code for accessing the master page contents from content page?
I have written the code for exporting the gridview to PDF but what i need is to add some content to the PDF file before gridview data A sample data is as follows
im creating dynamic buttons on page load and on the click event of button1 handlere iam creating more buttons this is going fine but on click event of button 2 work is not done so how to maintain a chain of creation of button on click events
How to I put this form on my page? The problem is I have a master page which wraps the content pages content in the ASP.net form, I can't nest the forms.
i am working on a project in which i have to create newsletters. We wish to give user functionality of editing the complete layout ( drag and drop if possible) I am able to achieve drag and drop with web parts but can't customise them much like adding richtext box and saving multiple copies of same page with different layouts. I then wish to enable user to send the html only part of page which contains dynamic layout.
I'm using this Ajax script [URL] to load content from an aspx page on another server than the page calling the content. So far I've learned that this is a no go. The problem seems to be that when using an absolute link to content the script fails as apposed to using a relative link.
I've searched the web for about 10 hours now, and I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
Lets say I have a Web Application with a menu of products. When a user clicks a menu item, then create and display a dynamic set of controls in an Update Panel. I am currently doing this however the PostBack and recreation of controls is tedious and resource intensive.
Not sure about this but is it possible to build a webpage with controls on it, then display it in update panel or IFrame? Then on post back you wouldn't have to recreate everything all over again?
In master page I am using asp content place holder. And in my child page I am using pure html coding. When I attach master page in my child page I am getting this error.Content controls have to be top-level controls in a content page or a nested master page that references a master page.
Trying out the asp menu item. I have a static menu across the top, and then when you hover over a menu item, a dynamic menu opens and displays 5 menu items from top to bottom. Only problem is, that the text in each of the 5 menu items is centered, where as I want them to be flush left. I've looked for some align options, but don't see them.
I have a project where I need to create menu buttons from a list in SQL Server. The problem I am having is that I need to add code to the text of those buttons. So there would be a birthday button and it should display the number of birthdays within the next two weeks or a button with the number of upcoming events.
Clarification:
There is no code yet, just some requirements. What I am doing is querying a table to get the list of buttons to display. Now each of these buttons may have dynamic text, for things like count of birthdays, events,etc... I am trying to see what the best way would be to handle this. Should I embed a snippet of code to go along with the menu item to execute when I iterate over the menu items? Maybe I should build a javascript file to go along with the code, which I add code to query a service for certain menu items?
