Scenario: Basically i am developing registration user control. I have a web page(say, SelectInputs.aspx) that lists different types of fields along with checkbox attached to each of them for selection. Once i select desired input controls (which should appear in user control) and click submit button then the file (.ascx) should be created from code behind.
eg: Lets say on SelectInputs.aspx i select fields viz. Firstname(textbox), Lastname(textbox), DateOfBirth(3 dropdowns) etc and click on submit button then from code behind the .ascx file should be generated that will include Firstname(textbox), Lastname(textbox), DateOfBirth(3 dropdowns) etc.
I am createing user dynamially with the below code; string MyPassword = Membership.GeneratePassword(8,0).ToString(); Membership.CreateUser(TextBox7.Text, MyPassword, TextBox8.Text); but before I start creating, I would like to check if the user name is used before or not.

I have a CUW with additional fields (the data of which is stored in an additional table that I have added to the ordinaty SQL membership database) and I want the user to check the Terms and Conditions checkbox before the user is created.
By any chance, do you also know how to prevent the creation of the user if the additional fields have not been filled?
I triend with Java, code behind and many method but it still dont work: the user is created even if the Terms and Conditions are not checked.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to develop a web application where there webpage would contain a list of Web control (textbox, label, calendar...) images on the left (as a menu), and the user would be able to drag any of the images onto a specific space within the page and it would dynamically create that specific control (for example, if the user drags an image of a TextBox into a panel, then a TexBox control would be dynamically created into that panel). Basically, I need to reproduce the basic drag-and-drop functionality of an IDE. To be honest, I have no idea how to do this.. anyone can point me in the right direction??

I'm currently in the process of creating a webshop. This webshop supports theming, but I also want customers to choose a lay-out. I can create multiple masterpages and create a handler to dynamically set the correct master page. But some components, like the shopping cart, are controls which have to be present in the master page and are also used in the aspx pages. The shopping cart control for instance, has an Update method which is called whenever the user adds a product to their cart. So the question is: can I somehow create a default masterpage which has all the components on it, but still be able to create multiple lay-outs. And how should I reference that master page from the aspx pages? I also thought of creating an Interface class which defines the masterpage and it's public components, but I don't know if I can reference an interface from aspx pages.

I cannot add button to item template in designer (some project specifications do not allow it). I create new button at DataBound, set unique ID, command name and argument and bind it to command event and, thenm place it to Item controls container. It is not working as command button.

Problem I facing is that the data table is getting created fine with teh linkbutton as well but the gridview is not showing the linkbutton. upon executing I am only the column which is of string type.

Should I be dynamically loading the controls in Page_Init, or Page_Load? Or should I load the controls when the buttonclick event is fired?Do I have to add the axCtrl.OnDataChange += new EventHandler(HandleAxControlDataChange); line on Page_Load? Or should I put this in When I first load the UserControl, I need to initialize some WebControls within the UserContorl. Is there a way to know if I have loaded new user controls into my placeholder? I can't use Page.IsPostback, because after the first page, every page is a postback from the buttonclick.

i want to be able to load user controls and populate them with data from a sql database at runtime based on a status field in my database but im struggling to do this.
my default page.aspx holds the user controls (acts like a container). at the moment i had referenced all the user controls to load up when the page was loaded so:

i then created a procedure which reads from the database the "status field". so if the status field is "pending" then i want the uc:GRLOLApproval control to show up but im not sure where to put this code or how to do it. i want to be abel to load the control at runtime and run this code. in my default.aspx.cs code i have done the following in the page load:

i tried to reference te user control in my default.aspx page by doing: protected GRLOLApproval GRLOLApp; but it wouldnt recognise it because it not been reference in the source file.how do i reference it so that i can read the data from my database and write to the fields in uc:Collectionrequest. (I have exposed the properties in the uc:CollectionRequest that i want to access btw) have been working on this for days now and just cant seem to load the user control or access any properties.
i am trying to create a paging facility for my dalatist dynamically and for this i am taking a hyperlink and putting it in a panel and showing the list of pages
but the problem is that when i click on next page for example from 1st page to another then it refreshes the page and opens the page with IsPostback = False and thus my all values that i have stored in a session becomes null like fisrt time loading
so it there any way so that when i click on the link it just show me the next bunch of record without refreshing the page ??
Note: i have created paging in my Stored procedure where each page contains 10 record per page
