I know that the code depicted below will not work but I am including it to convey the idea of what I wish to accomplish. I want to use a different SiteMap to construct the menu on the displayed page for each of three different classes of service (COS).
I set a session variable named "COS" at the login and want to test its value prior to rendering each page. I want to display a menu based upon the appropriate COS. Here is my first stab at it but I know that I cannot include <asp:...> controls within the "case" statements. Can anyone suggest methods of doing this? I know C# and can use that but I do not know how to select the proper sitemap within the <menu> control. I am also using a CSS in my production version.
I am using Jqgrid 3.6 beta version with asp.net and i wanna add dynamic context menu on row selection. When ever user rightclick a row in jqgrid he wants to see some menu like file, edit and other menus. I have completed using single page i.e. both the jqgrid and its parent(JS files) are in single page . But in my main Application I have one master page in which ill define all the JS and seperate page for the content(Jqgrid). So what happens is the same code which is running in single page application is not working in the master detail page.

I am trying to add an additional column on the gridview. Everything work fine. The problem is, when i add a new button on the page where the gridview exists and hit the button. The added column in gridview went missing. The button do not have any code behind associated with it and I am using VS2008. Anyone know what have cause this and how to solve this problem? I need the added column to be there even user click on the button.
i have a menu which is collapses as a default. This is done by following query.
Now, the problem is, whenever i click on any menu item by expanding the menu, the item page opens but the menu collapses again. I want to let the menu remain as expanded although a menu item is clicked. i.e. menu shouldn't refresh when a menu item is clicked.
I am using frames in my webpage.in one of the frames i have a menu control whose items are database driven.when click on the menu item, i want another page to be displayed in other frame.
now i want to pass the the selected menu item text to the other page using session variable which is in the menu item click event method.but the thing is when i click on the menu item, the click event is not firing.

I have a requirement as mentioned below: 1. There is a gridview containing a linkbutton field (lnkgdvMerchant)in one of the column defination as menioned in the mark up below :Please note the bolded line of code for more details.
I have a page with a TextBox, a Button, a GridView, and a SqlDataSource. I click the Button to execute the SQL in the TextBox using the SqlDataSource. The SqlDataSource populates the GridView. Everything works as expected until I click a column heading to sort.
When I click a column heading, the GridView disappears and I have to click the Button to display the grid again. When I do, the grid is displayed in the order of the column I clicked.
I don't understand why the GridView is disappearing when I click a column header.
Does anyone know how to fix this so the GridView is sorted and displayed only by clicking the column header?
I have several grid views indide div's, and when I click the Sort header on an open div the div collapses and no sort happens. I believe it is just reloading the entire page but when I surround PageLoad with !ISPostBack then the page redraws as blank. Since the sort script is generated by the GV, I don't know how to stop it from creating side effects.
Here's my code:
I have 5 gridviews, all of of them have a Checkbox template field. I already did SUM of a specific column in the gridviews and displayed the Total in the gridview footers.
There is a submit button on the page as well.(this is not in a template column in the gridview)
what i do is select some rows in the gridviews by ticking the checkbox. Then I click on the submit button and the values change in the database and page refreshes with the new Total in the gridview footers. Any row that was ticked. the checkbox for that row in the gridview gets disabled. so cannot change the value again.
Now i want a way to show a popup with a SUM of those rows that are ticked recently and the SUM of already ticked and disabled rows before the values change for the ticked rows in the gridview when the submit button is clicked.
I have a problem to rewrite url using RewritePath method.
Code implementation as below.
Web.config file setting
Now, when I call URL like http://localhost:1404/SampleSite/test then its working and rewrite to the rewrite.aspx page. but when I click on button event then URL is changed to original path like as http://localhost:1404/SampleSite/rewrite.aspx
On button click event, page is just post back. whenever page is post back, URL is changed to its original page. I want URL as it is calling like as http://localhost:1404/SampleSite/test

actually i want to make a similar transliteration application like google's. the process of script onversion from roman to Urdu has been done however i m facing lot of problems in user interface development on the web. google transliteration application can be found here.
I have a website using a master page, containing a menu and a ContentPlaceHolder. By clicking on the menu a new .aspx is opened, which has the master page as master. A very common approach in building websites with asp.net i guess.
Now after having worked on it for a while, I am bothered by the full postback made by the menu in the master page. What would be nice was that the content changed without the flickering of the screen. So I am hoping that I in some way can use updatepanels for this, but I am not certain that it will work?how I can make a menu (which is the same on all pages) without flickering when I click the menu.
I have an asp:Menu control on a master page that is reading its menu items from a web.sitemap file via a SiteMapDataSource. When I click on a menu, the new page loads which uses the same master page, but the ASP:Menu vanishes. I have put some plain text next to the menu for testing, this appears on the new page but the menu does not.Does anyone know how to get the asp:Menu to remain visible on the page?
I've got a repeater I've bound to column names that are filtered, as they're applied (using sessions currently, I might change this to loop through the columns looking for filters now that I really know how the grid works).
I've got a button next to each filtered column name that is to remove the filter from the RadGrid.
<asp:Repeater ID="repCorpFilters" runat="server" OnItemCommand="repFilters_ItemCommand"> <HeaderTemplate> Current Filters: </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate>
I have put my gridView inside an UpdatePanel with Timer control for auto refresh. The gridView has a linkButton column which is bounded to referenceNo column from database.
On click of this link button i want a panel to get visible. This Panel contains details corresponding to the referenceNo shown in differnt controls (mostly texboxes). Do i necessarily need to put the panel inside the Update Panel. If not how do i do it?
I have tried putting panel outside UpdatePanel, but it doesn't show panel on clicking the linkbutton nor does the values are updated inside this panel (if panel's visibility is set to true by default for testing purpose).
I am having an issue with the HTML editor when using the context menu to paste content from word. Basically I want to paste the content as plain text which i have been able to do when using the Ctrl +V key by using the captureInDesign method, but unable to do this when selecting paste from the context menu. Is this possible using the AJAX control kit 3.0.30930?
We have a 2.0 intranet website which users only visit via ie6 or ie7 (mostly ie6) . We have some departmental pages which load data from a database into a gridview off of the asp menu click, and others simply have a "landing/home page" (No db data).
The issue we are running into is that some users (intermittent problem) click a menu item and nothing happens visually in IE. No loading graphic at the bottom and sometimes it times out (After 60secs).
Our goal is to place something like the update progress extender somewhere between the menu click and the page loading since the data is loaded on the page load of the destination page.
