I have a simple issue..the user types his/her name in a textbox. Accidentally if a space is entered after a name or before, is it possible for me to trim it while accepting and not raise any error (which actually arises when the textbox is empty)?

I have One ListBox and one button and one textbox i.e. multiline, when I select Item from ListBox and click on button it insert on the cursor position of the TextBox with javascript or jquery...
I am getting data straight from the database into a data source. The data is binded in a repeater with link buttons.
The problem I am having is that the data in the database might have multiple spaces in the middle of the string however when being displayed on the front end only space is being shown. After thinking about it this is standard HTML behavior to remove spaces, I would have assumed that asp.net would have handled this with the rendering of the webpage. What is also happening is that when reports are exported to excel it only has 1 space instead of two.
Example:
2 spaces: "South Africa - Cape Town" single spaces: "South Africa - Cape Town"
This is an irrelevant example but my data has real use for multiple spaces.
In my ASP.NET application, I was trying to add few white spaces between two text boxes by typing space bar. The equivalent HTML source was instead of . So I just wanted to check: is this the new replacement for white space? If yes, why they changed?
I am attempting to concatenate white spaces to a field value in a rdlc report.
I am using the following formula in the TextBox but it does not work as I'd like it to.
[Code]....
I have a feeling it's because it generates HTML, but I can not figure out any other way to do this. I have also attempted to simply enter an empty string (" " & field) as well as chr(10) (empty character), but these were also failures.
Also, I tested the comparisons, by manually entering fake data if the condition is met and this worked fine, so it is not the comparisons.
I am trying to enter some text in multiline text box. The table the holds the data entered here is set to nvarchar(max). Still it errors out when i try to enter even two lines.
I have a page with a text box, a button and a GridView. Enter an account number in the text box, press the check button and the result will show in the GridView.
Now user wants that if the text box is clear, the GridView disappear.
I can only find TextBox1_OnTextChanged. But I want to have that while the user is clearing the text, if the length of text becomes zero, the GridView is clear out. So I am looking for OnTextChanging(). Well of course this function does not exist. How to achieve the same purpose?
Using code found here : [URL] .... I was wondering if the text could be formatted as in maintaining line feeds. I'm reading from an SQL 2008 database which has a text field. When I call it up the text format is gone. as an example I get :
I have an asp page with a textboxes, labels and other controls. I cannot get the .text to change in any of these controls. When changing the textbox's text mode to multiline the textbox becomes resizable during runtime. I can't seem to find the property to disable this, does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?
I have what I think is a weird issue. I send text from one page to another via Session Variable. When page 2 loads, the text box has the session text set, but if the user changes the text and clicks the button, the SQL database is update with the original session text. If I remove the redirect from the page 2 button_Click method, then, the page refreshes with the textbox reverting to the session text and thr SQLDataSource has the session text added to it.
