Mar 2, 2011
I have a requirement wherein i need to load images into my listview. The images are located in the webserver.
foreach (var file in Directory.GetFiles(Server.MapPath(http://xxxnet/xxx/Programs_and_Services/Employee_Programs/Employee_Awards_Programs/Vision_Awards_Images/xxx/

This line throws me an error System.Arugument exception. How do i give the folder then?

I have been debating back and forth between using a database or the file server to store images for users. Finally when I decided to use the file server I found it difficult. What I am trying to do is give a user the option to save multiple profile pictures. I have looked all over for tutorials on how to save to the file server but could find nothing related. Essentially what I would like to do is create folders for each user and their images. I am having no luck. Does anyone have example code or links to what I am looking for?

I'm trying to display images retreived from a sql server table in a GridView.
I found that the approach generally accepted was to have a handler that finally writes the image to the HttpContext.
My problem is that I only get a red X in the image column and not the images I want.
I'm using Northwind database, and I'm displaying data from the Employee table.

I'm using ASP.NET 4 Web forms routing, for example like this:
routes.MapPageRoute("page-browse", "{Language}/{Label}", "~/Default.aspx")
So the webadress could look like: http://localhost/mywebsite/eng/home
In the root of my website I have a folder "Images".
Image display works when I'm in the root of my website, e.g. by using http://localhost/mywebsite/default.aspx
But when using routing it doesn't work, because the image relative url will look at http://localhost/mywebsite/eng/images instead of http://localhost/mywebsite/images
Is there a way to prevent this using ASP.NET 4 Routing mechanism? Or is the only way to use absolute url's to images?

If I have users upload images to my web server, and they are simply stored in a folder, how secure are they? This of course is assuming that IIS is configured not to serve image files directly from a browser request, or mods are made in the web.config file to prevent direct access, etc, ex:[URL]
