Data Controls :: Hide Delete Button In ListView For Non Logged In Users

Jul 24, 2012

I have a ListView in my system..

And inside it, there is a button called "Delete".

In the behind code, I tried to access the button control in the listview. However, the code keep looping non-stop..

The logic is the Delete button will only be visible by the current logged-in user. And I had already set the button as visible = false. I had set breakpoint to the line : Delete.Visible = true;. Once the execution reach here, it loop back to the first line again..

And Delete button remain invisble despite the execute visible = true statement..

Here is the code:

protected void ListView1_ItemDataBound(object sender, ListViewItemEventArgs e)
{
MembershipUser currentUser = Membership.GetUser();
Guid currentUserId = (Guid)currentUser.ProviderUserKey;

Web Forms :: Redirecting Users Already Logged In?

Nov 28, 2010

When a user logs in, they are redireced to files within members folder. When a user happens to log in and gets redireced, there is the chance they will retype the default page address and go to the homepage, which is accessable to everyone. The issue is, the log in status control shows "Logout". how do I check if a user accesses the homepage, if they are logged in and if they are send them elsewhere. I've tried different codes, but not getting the result. Here is one code I tried...

.net - Forms Authentication Fails To Recognize As Logged In Under IE?

Jun 29, 2010

In my asp.net webforms application I am using plain and simple forms authentication hooked up into my database (with the standard membership provider). Everything works well, I can log in , log out, get roles, etc...However, after deploying my site to the intranet IIS server I noticed that IE cannot be authenticated. The actual authentication process for logging in works (as it does tell you when your password/username is wrong) but after authentication completes it claims you aren't logged in.

This is only on my deployed IIS environment as locally while in my VS environment everything works just fine in IE. While in the deployed IIS chrome and Firefox work just fine.The only thing I can tell is it looks like IE isn't getting or saving the authentication cookie. This is not IE setting related as I have my IE8 set to accept all cookies, and I tested on a coworker's IE8 machine and another's IE7 with the same results. My web.config is using the following settings:

<authentication mode="Forms" >
<forms cookieless="UseCookies" />
</authentication>

where I would look to begin debugging this issue?

Edit: I have been forced to fix this issue now, since my webserver is not working well with URL authentication.I have used fiddler and figured out that IIS7 is not sending any cookies to me when I am in IE. No cookies are in the headers. The cookies are correctly in the headers when serving the site to Mozilla and Chrome browsers though. I am at a loss as to why.....

Edit2: As a side note, when I log into the web server directly, if I go to Http://localhost/ IIS sends IE the cookies fine, but if I go to http://qa_build/ (that's the computer name for the server) IIS won't send the cookies to IE.

Web Forms :: How To Get The Current Logged In User's Email Address

Mar 18, 2010

How to retrieve the current authenticated logged in user's email address who is accessing the page.

I have managed to do it with users. How to get the current authenticated user's email address if that makes sense.

Here is my aspx code:

[Code]....

and my VB script:

[Code]....

Somebody suggested that I should run a query. If you know the user name accessing the page, surely you can take that information, insert it into a query to find out the email address of the user accessing the page. Sounds great but don't have a clue how to do it.

Web Forms :: Why Is Theme Not Applied To Any Pages If A User Has Not Logged In

Nov 8, 2010

I have created a c# web project with Visual Studio 2010. I moved the default css file to the theme folder I had added to the project. I configured files this way: the Default.aspx is accessible by anonymous and loggedin users while all other pages are accessible by loggedin users only. I didn't use roles.

The issue is no theme is applied to the Login or Default.aspx pages if a user has not logged in.

Display Email Of Logged In User / Forms Authentication

Sep 30, 2010

i'm using forms based authentication within my aspnet (c#) website. At the log in page i'm capturing username, password and email. the email addressed is stored within the membership table. now on a new page, i'd just like to display the users' email address so they update it as well as another boolean field. i've tried using a gridview but i can't figure out how to modify the query so it only reveals the current logged in user.

Web Forms :: Streaming MP3s Based On Logged In User?

Apr 6, 2010

I have a requirement to be able to stream MP3s based on the user who is logged in. Eg, user 1 should only be able to listen to 1.mp3, user 2 should only be able to listen to 2.mp3 etc. All the mp3s would be stored in a particular directory on the server.

I am currently investigating the Silverlight audio player available at [URL]. However, I am unable to find a way to programmatically specify the file to stream once the user clicks the play button.

Are there any other media players/controls that allow streaming and also allow specifying the audio file to play programmatically?

Web Forms :: Detect All Logged In Users In Web Application By Session Variable

Jan 28, 2011

I'm wondering if it's possible to perhaps set something up in the global.asx file or something that will build a list of all currently active user sessions that I can then use to display to a logged in user, who else is currently logged in.

Currently I store my userId's in a session variable Session["IsLoggedIn"], so basically i want to build an global array of some sort that will store all these active userId's.

Let me know if this is possible, or who i would go about accomplishing this sort of thing. BTW, I'm not using asp.net's built in membership thing for login accounts.

Web Forms :: Authenticate Current Logged In User In Asp 3.5 - Error CS1061

Jan 26, 2010

I want to check that the user trying to log-in is authenticated and it belongs to a certain role. For this I have wrote the following code

protected void btnLoginButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
/
if (this.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated && this.User.IsInRole("Admin"))
{
Response.Redirect("~/Admin/Default.aspx");
}
if (this.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated && this.User.IsInRole("Editor"))
{
Response.Redirect("~/Editor/Default.aspx");
}
if (this.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated && this.User.IsInRole("Moderator"))
{
Response.Redirect("~/Moderator/Default.aspx");
}
}

But when I ran this code it gave me this error error CS1061: 'Page' does not contain a definition for 'User' and no extension method 'User' accepting a first argument of type 'Page' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) I have already added following directives to cs page-

using System;
using System.Data;
using System.Configuration;
using System.Collections;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.Security;
using System.Web.UI;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts;
using System.Web.UI.HtmlControls;

Can anybody tell what directie I should add for "this.User" <P.S> My application is web based and it is in ASP.Net 3.5(C#).
