View 4 RepliesI want a browser to go full screen as soon as my page loads. Is it possible in javascript. I know the shortcut key for this F11 but requirement is on page load only.
After reading the solution provided below. I achieved full screen but here i got a trap. I was using timer to make my page postback to get fresh data after every 5 second. And here I found after every 5 sec new window opens up but I want full screen to go only once and next time content gets refreshed there itself.
I try to print page automatically on OnLoad by using

I have an ASP.NET app that gets its data form an external service, via HttpWebRequest. Currently the request is made on the Page_Load event. After that event finishes I have my objects in the page and I output their data in the HTML. Sometimes the site hangs and throws timeout exceptions. Should I move the web request to an event prior to Page_Load ?

How do I do the same when using Master Pages and there is no Body?
Im implementing a simple form with ajax to warn the user if email has been used or not for registration, and it looks to be working fine with IE but mozilla does a full page postback and refreshes the whole page.
I already tried changing to updatemode to conditional, all the triggers are set as async, etc but mozilla keeps doing the same, Im sure it is a known problem I may not be the first one facing this problem so i guess there is a simple workaround for this.
I have this javascript
function myFunction(source) {
window.open(source, "Title", 'width=400, height=400');
}
and in c# code I call it by
HtmlPage.Window.Invoke("myFunction", source);
which opens up a aspx page and goes to its OnLoad function:
protected override void OnLoad(System.EventArgs e)
{
base.OnLoad(e);
how do I pass in parameters to the event args in the aspx page? or is that even possible? and how can I pass these parameters from my c# code to the javascript?
In an .aspx page with the vb.net codebehind i am using IFRAME , which would be created inside the repeater control. Since i want to resize the IFRAME based on the content within the page i have been using the resize function Obtained from here on the IFRAME onload as shown below.
<iframe id="IframeSubsectionArea" scrolling="auto" width="100%" onload="resizeIframeToFitContent(this)" runat="server">
However it is throwing the error as the method could not be found in the form. Is there any client side script variant for the onload event? May i know,What might be the reason for the error and its solution?
I have a problem that the OnLoad event is not fireing when I navigate to a page and just change the query string. If I do a postback it is called, then changing the query string ones more OnLoad gets called.
Here is how i try. I navigate to the page OnLoad fires -> then change the query string page updates (all bound elements get updated) OnLoad does not fire -> I do a postback using a button OnLoad fires -> then change the query string OnLoad fires. I will try to explain in more detail.
The system has log in window when I log in I navigate to an other aspx page sending two query string messages the last query string is a number (page.aspx?key=text82&key2=2010). When I get to the page the first time PageLoad event gets called and all is fine, if I in the browser change the key2 to 2011 and press enter the PageLoad does not get called but all my bound elements get updated (GrivView etc..). If I then do a postback using a button the PageLoad gets called. If I now change the 2011 back to 2010 and press Enter PageLoad is called. I try this is firefox the PageLoad get called every time. I tired to write a test website but I do not get the same problem, but what i found out is that in IE 8 changing the query string to the same number and pressing enter the PageLoad is not called. But doing so in firefox makes the postback fire. Here is the test code

Found this question on an interview siteGiven the following methods of the ASP .Net Page class, in which of them would you attach an event handler to an event published by a control on the web page?
View 1 RepliesI am using C#.
I am having below code in C#:
protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e)
{
try
{
if (Session["boolSignOn"].ToString() == "true".ToString())
{
lblPanelOpen.Text = Session["panelOpen"].ToString();
}
else
{
lblPanelOpen.Text = Session["panelOpen"].ToString();
}
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
Logger.Error("Error processing request:" + ex.Message);
}
}
protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e)
{
try
{
if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(Session["panelOpen"].ToString()))
{
lblPanelOpen.Text = string.Empty;
Session.Remove("panelOpen");
}
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
Logger.Error("Unable to remove the session variable:" + ex.Message);
}
}
In above code I am having a Session["panelOpen"] variable which is created from another user control and once my page is trying to render, I am storing Session["panelOpen"] in my hidden lblPanelOpen.Text on page OnInit() method, however when page is loaded completely then I am trying to remove the session variable.

I want to call a javascript function at onload event of gridview..But I am getting Compilation error. How can I do this?
Basically I am using a javascript in .aspx page which have a master page. I want to get the value from javascript in code behind.
How do I create a new event in a base page class that fires after all derived pages have fired their load events but before any controls fire their load events.
The following code fires the event before the derived page's load event. I want it to fire the event after the derived page's load event but before all control load events:
Base Class:
Public Event FirstLoad(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
If Not IsPostBack Then
RaiseEvent FirstLoad(sender, e)
End If
End Sub
Derived Class:
Private Sub Page_FirstLoad(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.FirstLoad
'Stuff here happens before controls load but only on first page loads'
End Sub
I have a masterPage on that i am using AjaxModalPopup for login purpose.My requirement is when i login via Master page then it should show the Logged-in User details on the current Content Page that is using same master page.
Here i am using following code to get it back to the same content page after succesful login but it does not show the user details on the same content page rather when i go to next page then it appears.
if (Session["SignedIn"] == null)
{
ValidateUser();
ModalPopupExtenderMaster1.Hide();
string currentPageUrl = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(Request.Url.AbsolutePath);
Server.Transfer(currentPageUrl);
}
But it does not gives user-details on the same content page.

Here is my situation: I have a user control that has a menu in it. This user control sits on my master page. It is my main navigation menu for my application. I am having an issue where, on one of my pages, users seem to be leaving the page before committing all changes to the database, which results in a loss of data. So what I want to accomplish is - if the user is leaving this page and the data has not been saved yet, I want to prompt the user and say something like "The information is not yet saved, are you sure you want to leave this page" in a modal popup. So my approach is this: In my menu user control, create an event handler called MenuClicked that is raised when the menu web control's (in the user control) MenuItemClicked is raised, I raise my custom MenuClicked event. Then on my master page, I can catch this event in NavMenu_MenuClicked. My problem is - I need to catch this event in my content page, not the master? Am I approaching this correctly?
